1. That's the trouble mate, ain't no posting this bad boy! I'd have mentioned it otherwise! Cheers, James
2. That's not a particularly amazing price, it's not a BAD deal but in my eyes, it works out as: Head - £150-200 max depending on condition (EQ sliders are often broken on these) 210p - £100-125 115tp - £100-125 So totting that lot up it's either £350 if you're being conservative, or £450 if you love it and it's in exceptional condition. There's wiggle room in those prices Cheers, James
3. On hold till Monday evening for someone to come and have a go! Happy to take 'next in line' requests?
4. Bumpage for the day crew (and will get those dimensions when I get home later....promise!)
5. That should produce plenty of volume, no worries there. I can't see it being likely that you can't hear yourself... You should use the DI output without doubt in future, they sound great! Cheers, James
6. The wiring on all the CV Jazzes I've had (3) has been immaculate, only my hamfisted soldering has let it down... Also, personally speaking I would suggest that your technique isn't right, or the pickups are too high, if you are touching the pole pieces. That said, I'm fairly crap and fairly sure I touch mine and don't hear any noises as you describe. I wonder if yours was a bit of a Friday afternoon job, under the hood?
7.
Hi mate What's the width at the nut? C
Hi mate, Will have to check this one for you tomorrow afternoon as I've cased it back up and just heading off to bed... Will report back tomorrow! Cheers, James
8. http://www.shiply.com/ Seriously. It's awesome. Specify what you're sending, and mention it won't be wrapped....some hairy arse trucker pops it in the cab the next time he passes. Bob's yer uncle!
9. It would be my opinion that you will largely be limited by the quality of the body and neck woods. As a result, trying to get that much more sustain without changing these parts (and obviously that's a bit far....) may not be worth spending a fortune on. Try a bridge, the Gotoh 201, as mentioned, is excellent - but beyond that, I'd leave it as is! Cheers, James
10. To be honest, a close up of the headstock will probably reveal all we need to know. From that distance, I'm thinking it looks a lot like a 70's Classic (Mexican) with an aftermarket scratchplate and bridge cover. But with photos like that, it could be anything....
11. Oh, in case anyone wonders...bridge has been changed and I have the original one. Likewise the pickguard. Cheers, James
12. Fast postage, good packing and good communications - typical BassChatter! Thanks mate Cheers, James
13. 'Enthusiastically Photographed' doesn't cover it Cheers, James
14. Hi all, In possibly the fastest turnaround in BC history (unless anyone can correct me?), the Tokai Hardpuncher that I bought from here is back up for sale. It's completely my error, but I bought the bass without giving consideration to the neck size and with my (abnormally) small hands, it's just too much to get to grips (literally) with. It's a total beauty and sounds superb, action is low, buzz free and in tune across the neck, I have no complaints at all apart from I'm obviously deformed in the hand department (and you know what they say about your hand span...) So, my loss = your gain etc. It's for sale exclusively on here, but I'll be popping it on ebay on Free Listing day if no-one is interested here. Looking for what I paid which is £300 inclusive of delivery to your door. Cheers, James
15. Yep, it's Jazz all over on the neck, thin and slim! Couldn't be less like a P plank o' wood if it tried!
16. Yep, about 180w into 8 ohms. If it means anything at all, using this with an Ashdown Mag 2x10", the majority of our gigs, this has been on about half way on the master and plenty loud. Add in another cabinet and I back it down to about 1/3rd of the master volume. It certainly doesn't want for ooomph Cheers, James
17. Grab yourself a Classic Vibe Jazz...cheap but powerful antidote to the illness you are suffering from!
