1. Hi all, Well, did some snooping around for a deal on a cab for a friend, agonised over a few options involving my own gear and eventually got something only the find out it's no longer needed! C'est la vie! So, here we have a VERY battle-scarred 15" Cabinet which I purchased (I don't mind saying) for £80 from The Music Department in St Albans just before Christmas. The speaker went, so has been replaced with an Eminence Delta 15 LF 400w 8 Ohm job and it sounds MASSIVE. The cab is thought to have originally been a Trace Elliot one, but there's no way to prove that. It's rugged looking to say the least, but VERY solid, VERY functional and it really does sound superb! Speakon connectors x 2 and rubber feet. On the underneath there is some 'Property of blah blah blah' information written on, but I checked this with the shop (and have been shopping there years) and it was that owner that part-ex'd it. You could paint over it, or just ignore it as it's on the bottom! I'm looking for £60 which is less than I paid for the Speaker, but I just don't have the room to store it. Collection only from St Albans / Stevenage or meetup on my travels for petrol costs? Cheers, James
2. Hi all, I've decided that this isn't the bass for me, I prefer the more 'old school' feel of my CV Jazz. As a result, it's up for sale! Collection from St Albans where possible, although as it has a Hard Case with it, I would post at your cost. Not much to say about these. Jap built, active electronics, nice bridge, very light, very comfy and a great range of sounds. This one has some nicks, dinks and marks - dont expect it box-fresh, but it's a lovely little thing. I would prefer a sale, but trades (ideally with cash my way) would be considered, try me! Otherwise, price for an outright sale is £250. Free listing day on ebay on Sunday, so if no interest by then it'll go on there! Cheers, James
3.
where/when was it made? Cheers Mr Marlin
If it's a Classic series it is Mexican. Seriously though, why even ask? That's a bargain regardless whether it's 1 year or 10 years old!
4. Yes, it's roughly the same, full thickness. Lovely basses too.
5. I'd be happy to transport a cab with castors, but no way an amp - certainly not the puny ones fitted to many.
6. Bought my CV Jazz and couldn't have been easier to deal with - excellent comms and a lovely chap! Thanks a lot matey! James
7. Check out www.whybuynew.co.uk as they often have some really great deals. Personally speaking, I would suggest that 4 x Monitors is excessive, and you could easily get away with two - does the guitarist not use an amp on stage to hear himself? Also, I'd wonder whether given you have keys, you might find a Top+Sub system better, although it's more gear it does give a very pleasing sound, particularly if your keyboardist plays organ sounds. We have an identical lineup to you and use a cheapo Peavey kit of Subs and Tops (both 15", the latter with a tweeter) and a Yamaha Powered desk - a similar setup might fit the bill for you? Cheers, James
8. Possibly a shade too far for you, but I can 100% recommend TJC Guitars who did a superb job on the Kay that had the neck damaged in transit that I bought from silverfoxnik!
9. Being as you asked, the pricing on the head is fair, but the cabs are fairly overpriced if you want a quick sale. I had a similar model and it attracted plenty of attention on here, but failed to sell at £60. Food for thought if you deseperately need rid? Hope this helps! Cheers, James
10. *** EDIT - Trade Pending, subject to the usual *** Hi all, I recently had to shift a Classic Vibe Jazz to fund some car repairs, sadly, I now have more as it's developed a starting problem in the cold! Argh! So, the only piece of kit I have that is worth anything is my two month old Orange Bass Terror. For pics, please see my review in the reviews section. It's in fantastic nick, gigged five times and it sounds awesome. Still under warranty. I am looking for a TRADE plus cash for an amp head, or two - but I will need some decent money throwing in too, as I am doing this for the cash - believe me, if I could hang onto this, I would as it is without doubt the loudest, beefiest, head I have heard. I'd ideally like 300wrms at 8 ohms, but happy to consider a few options, so let me know what you have and we'll take it from there? I'm based in Herts for potential meetup/collection. Price for outright sale option is £380, but I'd much rather a trade. Cheers, James
11. It's really not too hard - there's a couple of youtube vids to get you started (not exactly correct, but it's ballpark). It helped us that we played it in Eb (not sure if that's the original key), so it just required a quick detune to get that monster low note. Cheers, James
12. Thanks Nik - never rains but it pours eh? Anyway, this sale is temporarily suspended whilst I'm busy for a few days. I will return with it in the new year, take some photos and will put it back for sale! Thanks, James
13. Pics in the morning as it's too dark now! We are talking minor wear and tear, few scratches but nothing ugly! Cheers, James
14. Meant to say, I can post tomorrow too via mail boxes etc. Cheers James
15. Now back up for sale! Collection either tomorrow (weds) or after the 4th as I'm away for a few days. Thanks, James
16. Now provisionally sold, pending arrangements for the usual. Thanks, James
17. Sorry matey, outright sale only. Thanks anyway!
18. Hi all, I have the worst luck sometimes! Godawful journey today to meet a couple of BC'ers (Thanks again Nik and Simon!) and on the way home had the oil light come on. Yep, someone has been leaking oil all the way up the M25 and A1M. So, to fund what I expect is going to be quite an expensive repair, I have one of my Classic Vibe Jazzes for sale. This is NOT the one I bought from Paul on here recently (which is loaded with EMGS) but my original one, which is in better condition (as I dropped Paul's one taking it out of the packaging). It's in excellent condition with only minor play wear and the odd pick scratch. Comes with Hard Case (+ £20) or Fender Gig Bag free of charge! Looking for £185 - meetup or plus postage, FIRM. If I can't realise that from the sale, then I'll find something else to sell (hello sailor). Pics to follow, but it looks just like every other Classic Vibe Jazz, nicely set up with Hartke light strings and minimal play wear. Cheers, James
19. No prob with mine, you just need to make sure it goes in at line level. Our mixer has some xlr channels that are mic/line and somejust mic. Use the former and all is good, use the latter and it' distortion city. Cheers, James
20. Sorry, will try and get one in the morning - without decent digital camera at the moment, so pointless trying to take one under artificial light. Cheers, James
21. Oh the Irony Si! Guess who I'm going to visit to collect a certain cab from when I meet Nik to do the swap over for the Little Giant?! Sorry matey!
