    Nah, wouldn't know what to do with an Active bass....where do you plug it into the mains? Have to say though, even under the 29 years of dirt, this is a lovely thing. The neck is superb!

    Thanks Stevie. Reading their charts they seem very similar to those fitted in the Ashdown anyway, similar frequency response. I'll give 'em a try anyway, as this cabinet is never used on its own anyway. All done and paid, thanks Howard!

    I grabbed that Westone Gonna try it out as a backup and shift it on if I don't gel with it. I had no idea that Westones were really worth anything? They were a bit of an embarassment to have when I was younger - all the cool kids would have laughed

    Hi all, Looking for speakers to upgrade a 2 x 10 which needs to end up at 8 ohm, so either 4 ohm or 16 ohm speakers are needed. But all the usual suspects have hardly any of these in stock! Given that 2 x 10 is quite a common setup, why does no-one have any? Does anyone have any recommendations for where to get speakers from. So far, I've tried Lean, Blue Aran and ebay. I won't use Watford Valves and HotRox don't really have much. Cheers, James

    You could just change the speaker in the MAG cabinet. Those celestion Neos are supposed to be VERY good!

    I roughly follow the guitarist, but do runs from the root note instead...I feel it locks in better with the drummer

    Nut height can affect intonation, I believe. So can old, knackered or cheap strings. Oh, and pickup height too!

    Hi all, I bought this only very recently, but i'm no fretless maniac, I wish I were. It's in excellent condition and is a rather nice example as a few of these I've seen have had some knots in the wood, this one looks just great! Will take my normal slew of photos shortly, but it's up here for a (hopefully) attractive £150 plust post (meetup is fine though) or trade for a Fretted Jazz of some kind? Comes with a free set of (new, boxed and not yet fitted) D'addario ProSteels too which I've always liked a LOT! If you want a Hard Case for it, I can supply one for £35 on top (brand new) Cheers, James

    Are these any better than the (dire...in my opinion) Superfly? Has anyone tried them and do they actually have any real guts? The Superfly, even through a very efficient amp was just weak...
