1. Looks just like, and i mean JUST like a 'Yamamoto' P bass that my local has for sale. I bet the body isn't full thickness either.
2. Yup, SOLD to Phil pending meetup this weekend! Cheers, James
3. Great gig last night, new venue - load in not amazing, but appreciative locals! Cheers, James
4. All I can say on that score is I recently played through a VX series 4x10 at a Jam night and it was pretty awful. It looked like it had a hard life though, so could just have been knackered
5. The GK Backline 600 is FAB, I'm only selling mine (on ebay) as I couldn't resist the charms of the Bass Terror
6. I recently tried the Peavey Tour 450 (not bad at all), Hartke LH500 (nice sounds but heavy and the shop I was in had a few back), the Markbass LM3 (didn't like it but not sure why) and the Orange Bass Terror. The Orange TOTALLY destroyed the others for me, BUT it's not going to be to everyone's taste.
7. Check the reviews section, I love mine! Wrote a brief piece in there about it!
8. This is a purely personal thing, but I tried them recently as I was thinking of downsizing and was very dissapointed. It's not that they are 'flat' sounding somehow, but I can help but feel you miss the larger enclosures. I think for lighter stuff, they'd be okay but I personally didn't like the tone at all. What about a Barefaced? I've never heard one, but they are light, not too huge and worth a look perhaps?
9. I'd expect it's more likely the transformer
10. Squier Classic Vibe Jazz. The bass which, for me at least, makes owning anything else totally pointless.
11. Hartke strings arrived today! Thanks Si Top stuff, as usual!
12. Pic not the best, I grant you - but it proves it exists Lovely, lovely cab! Cheers, James
13. Hi all, I have an Eden Nemesis 4x10", pur-chased from here: http://www.bassmerchant.com/item_detail.ph...p;category_id=2 earlier in the year. Lightweight, INCREDIBLY efficient cab! This is 4 Ohm, to get the most out of most heads. And currently, there are no new ones available in the country! Still under warranty, still in good nick and still sounds amazing (not to mention light, which is a HUGE bonus). Comes with wheels (removeable) on the bottom £285 - bit of a deal? I think so! Pics to follow. Collection or meetup in Hertfordshire! Cheers, James
14. Okay, BRIEF update from last night's rehearsal. By GOD it is loud! This thing is a total monster, and is really giving my cab something to think about. I could be heard comfortably at 1/10 on the master, active button ON (even though it's a passive bass) and gain at 12 o'clock. FAB. Cheers, James
15. Could be interested in the cab depending on price and spec - let me know when you can?
16. I've just used them. Word of warning? Don't automatically pick the cheapest - read the feedback! I used the second most expensive quote because the feedback said he was good. And he really was. South Wales to Essex in less than 24 hours for less than the petrol in my car would have cost.
17. I've reviewed mine in the reviews section. Loves it, I does.
18. Wise words....and pay careful attention to the corners, it's almost always them that take the knocks. Alternatively, use Shiply to find a courier that will take it by hand! Cheers, James
