  1. Word of warning, my experience with Thomann was GREAT until something went wrong. At that point, I cannot begin to tell you the amount of grief it was. If it's a cab? Who cares, you're unlikely to have that much of an issue. If it's an amp I would think VERY carefully before buying from there....
  2. Sorry, I meant 'here' as in my geographical location, not the intraweb1!1
  3. Hi Dan, Yep, the new cone has a lot more depth and punch than the original, but as these things are subjective you could always elect to have the original fitted if you'd prefer. Collection is best if possible as it's quite heavy and quite large! Delivery is possible, but not gonna be cheap - you'd be welcome to arrange your own courier? Cheers, James
  4. I'm probably being blind, but does it have a case?
  5. Cool! Well, let me know when you can as I'm going to need the space! Cheers, James
  6. Hi all, Pics to follow, but i have the following: 1 x GK Goldline GLX210 2x10 Cab (200w - 8 Ohms) - Excellent condition and fully working, punchy as heck! 11 Months Warranty 1 x Ashdown MAG 1x15" With Upgraded RCL 700w 8ohm speaker with 99dB sensitivity. Open to offers for the pair, but looking for £150 for the GK and £100 for the Ashdown. Both are in fantastic condition! TRADES? Pics to follow soon! Cheers, James
  7. And replied to say thanks but no thanks I'm afraid matey, I have enough trouble with 4 strings
  8. Knackers, earlier in the week, i'd have had that....
  9. Bumpage - pics arriving later! Part-ex's considered!
  10. Thanks! Interesting reading for sure... Still hoping I can get some feedback from someone who has gigged it....anyone doing just that? Cheers, James
  11. Hi all, As I appear to have a bit of store credit and don't want to go down the Ashdown route any further, the only other bass amp head in budget is the GK Backline 600. As far as I understand, some of the underlying tech is shared with the more expensive GK stuff, but the country of manufacture is different. Anyone used one? Plenty of output for loud pub gigs? I'll be running it at 4 ohms so should get the full output. Cheers for any help in advance, James
  12. Not my pic - that's from the Fender website! Anyway, this is an as-new Jazz 70's Classic (MIM). Coda Music (where I got this from) are now doing these new at £529 so I'm gonna ask for a very respectable £450 Literally as new, maybe one or two tiny marks no worse that you'd get from shop stock. Comes with tags and has had a full setup by the shop. Collection would be preferred, but could do a meetup or possibly delivery at a push - part ex's for a Squier Classic Vibe Jazz would be considered! This is NOT one of those basses i'll keep dropping the price on, it owes me too much - i'll keep this if it doesn't sell! The Hard Case pictured is NOT included but can be added for £40 to ensure safe transit Real piccies to follow soon Cheers, James
  13. Yep, measured using the mightily-accurate Tesco 99p tape measure, it appears to be about 65mm centre B to centre G. Personally-speaking I have no issue with the string spacing and do have quite (fat) chunky fingers. As with all of these things, it's personal taste of course! Cheers, James
  14. Hi all, I wish to drive my amp head at 4 ohms, and have a GK 2x10 with only one input and an Ashdown MAG 115 with one 1/4 jack and one Speakon. Am I right in thinking that I could get a Speakon -> 1/4 jack lead and run out to the GK and this would give me 4 ohms (as both cabs are 8) I'm not looking for confirmation of the 4+4 = 8 business, more that the socket on the Mag cabinet is okay to use for this purpose as it's not specifically labelled an 'output'. Thanks in advance, James
  15. I'm struggling to remember off the top of my head, but will post it up shortly. To abbreviate, it's slightly narrower than some basses (but probably not as narrow as others). Helpful eh?
  16. Cheers Andy and nice meeting you! What a nice place BC is! Cheers, James
  17. Gotta say I love Guy Pratt's tone on the Pink Floyd 'Pulse' tour/DVD. Cheers, James
  18. Pair of pliers....£3 Good quality hacksaw...£7 Knowing that you've just ruined your instrument...priceless. Go on, be a man, give DIY a go
