  1. Sorry Chris, not sure how relavent that is.
  2. For some reason I can't access the Gear section of BassChat on my mobile. It's fine on the normal PC version. Tried logging off and on again, no difference.
  3. Our vocalist does some solo work and apparently Equity have spoken to someone in government and Clubs are classified as a music venue. As they generally have a separate concert room they can limit numbers and easily take contact details. Pubs were ruled out.
  4. That used to be mine and it's my posting on the Lag forum.
  5. Unlikely, the G&L has a 6 bolt fixing and longer neck pocket. Even if a Fender one did fit it's likely to look a bit weird. G&L do a Jazz'ish profile neck on one of their models but getting one would be difficult. Reshaping the original is likely to be the best and cheapest option.
  6. @Dan Dare beat me to it. I'm sure if you posted the internal dimensions of the cab, someone will be able to model it and suggest suitable speakers and suitable port sizes. @Phil Starr? If you can't get a port tube the right size, plastic Soil Pipe is good to make your own.
  7. Me too. I had 3 over time just hoping that I would get one with a slimmer neck. I discussed shaving the neck down with a local luthier and it is doable as there's plenty of meat to go at.
  8. Thanks for the tip off. Arrived at Chez BassBunny a couple of hours ago.
  9. We've a small music shop locally who was doing very little until lockdown. Since then, and the local Dawsons closing, he has seen a huge increase. Even got interviewed for NW tonight. Apparently people wanted to learn an instrument whilst in lockdown. Uke's were the most popular followed by guitar.
  10. The norm seems to be stick on these days. Both my amps are like that. The last one I had with screw on feet was a Mark Bass SA450 that was 12 years old.
  11. If it's a red and a white that feed the speaker, logic would say the red is +ve.
  12. Do it any way you wanna by People's Choice. Still love to this day.
  13. When the band I still play in formed in 1968, this was our signature tune. Awesome number.
  14. According to Manchester Evening News, there is interest in buying both Deaf Institute and Gorilla. Here's hoping.
  15. Sorry to hear. Great attitude and keep it up.
  16. Just been announced that The Deaf Institute and Gorilla closing in Manchester. We played at The Deaf Institute last year and saw Victor Wooten at Gorilla a couple of years ago. Also caught Jay @crez5150 ,when he was with The Signatures, at Gorilla when they toured with Chairman of the Board. 2 venues that will really be missed.
  17. Shouldn't be a problem at all. The amp will be chucking about 250ish Watts with an 8 ohm cab but let your ears guide you. When it starts distorting/breaking up, turn it down. I assume you've removed the head from the combo so just need a speaker lead from head to cab.
  18. Looks like a James Brown checklist.
  19. When I switched to bass from guitar some years ago I went to a tutor, well he likes the title "coach", whose preferred book was Funk Fusion Bass by Jon Liebman. He takes all his students through this and I found it excellent. Ignore the name, it starts off pretty basic. Still do some of the exercises to this day
  20. There are a number of threads on here about Sires and they are probably the best bang for your buck available.
  21. Until 31st Dec nothing has changed regarding UK/EU transactions. There aren't any custom fees to pay. I can only assume that it is finding a suitable carrier to ship a bass could be the issue. Sellers would prefer a face to face transaction.
  22. Then Vol, Switch for pickup selection + series/parallel, tone. That would be killer.
  23. For a 4 hole loom, I'd be looking at 2 volumes, pickup switch and single tone.
  24. I went with a 5 string for my first Custom build. Since then I haven't played anything else. Don't even own a 4 string now.
