  1. Unfortunately not. Mark answered my email query himself and it's a refund or pay extra for an 800. I've got a Retroglide 800 and just fancied trying a Rootmaster as it was a tempting price. I may have a plan B though.
  2. Mark offered an 800 if I paid extra but I think I have got a plan B.
  3. Been expecting an RM500 today and just found out they've "oversold" them.😖
  4. The wires to the battery connector do appear to have been joined but it could just be to replace a faulty connector. It would be much easier to do it this way than trace back to one of the PCB to change it. It does look like they are the original "active' MEC pickups as there is an additional red wire with each pick up wire. Maybe another email to Mr W asking it this is the way they should behave. It might be that these pickups also work in a passive mode and without a battery.
  5. I've got the album on CD which has been ripped to my media server. PM email address and I'll send it via retransfer.
  6. I sent 2 items on Tuesday. Amp via Parcelforce 48 and it arrived next day 8:30am. 2nd item a pre-amp. Small package 1st class, tracked, insured via Royal Mail and got there today. I checked with local PO yesterday and they said 1st class at least 5 days.
  7. That'll be Real Electronics, MB authorised repairer. I've just given up on an SA450. I spoke to Real and the repair was more than the amp was worth.
  8. Or put the LMT into the combo with a NY121 as an extension. Hell of a rig and really adaptable.
  9. Who will probably not touch it as MB won't release the schematics. Only option then is Real Electronics in Sheffield who are the authorised MB repairers. They only do board swapping, so unlikely to get any change out of £200.
  10. Bartolini XCTC Pre-amp that used to be in my Bacchus, (replaced with an East J-Retro). Currently set up as Vol/Vol/Bass/Treble and with a Mid control on a preset attached to the Treble pot. It can easily be reconfigured to a 3 band or Volume/Blend instead of the 2 volumes. I've got the circuit diagram for the many options that is available from the Bartolini web-site.
  11. My trusty SA450 which has been my main amp for a good number of years has run out of a bit of steam. Unfortunately it's a bit poorly and is not delivering the full 500w. It's been to Gee Electronics, (twice), who were convinced they could fix it and they cleaned all the pots, jacks etc. and re-soldered a few dodgy joints. They were convinced it was back to full health but although definitely louder than when I sent it in, not the full beans. Probably about 250-300w in their estimation. It's in great cosmetic condition and apart from the low output, fully functioning. Ideal for home use, with an acoustic band or recording. If you have a tatty Class A/B Little Mark, whip the power amp section out and put it in here and it should be back to it's former glory. They use the same power amp section but the SA450 has the parametric mids. I've spent £90+ with Gee trying to get it sorted so just trying to claw a bit back.
  12. It's a Class A/B. Probably one of the very last ones before they switched to the Class D power section.
  13. I wouldn't cut both, just one will do. If you trace the wire from the pickup that is soldered to one of the 3 terminals on the pot and cut that one. I think it's normally a white or red wire with the other wire, normally black, being soldered to the body of the pot. I'd leave the other wire in case you want to reconnect it one day.
  14. MarkBass changed from Class A/B to Class D in the Little Mark in 2012 IIRC. Not sure of the month though. Yours looks like a Class A/B one but if you contact MB either direct or on FB, they will be able to confirm one way or another.
  15. What about Hausell pickups? I know Mike Walsh and a few other builders use them quite a bit. Or how about having a set made to your spec by Aaron Armstrong? Tell him exactly what you are after and he should be able to do it.
  16. If you look for companies that re-chrome items, they should be able to help as I guess you would be looking at black nickel plating and it would be a similar process.
  17. Anything is possible but in this case the amount of work and cost may outweigh buying replacements. The gold hardware is already played so I guess that would have to be removed first probably using a chemical dip of some sort. The tuners would have to be completely disassembled, which may not be possible. The bridge would have to be completely stripped down, as in both cases you only want to plate the parts that are currently gold.
  18. If Ashdown are still working, contact them. They'll tell you what the original speakers are. I'm still getting emails from them, so suspect someone is around.
  19. I'm pretty sure there are 2 screws. 1 is hidden when you open the box and you have to remove the battery carrier. I'll check as I've got a couple of those lying aroud.
  20. Got an email reminder from Eventbrite this morning for the show. 🙃 Maybe someone should tell them it's cancelled.
  21. No cons from my point of view. I've 2 basses with flat boards and love them.
  22. The Lowry, The Palace, Opera House and Home are all closing in Manchester from tomorrow. It might be that the venue makes the decision for them.
  23. He does indeed Richard. My Zoots are carpet covered but tolex on the front baffle.
