  1. US flights now affected.
  2. At the moment UK and NI to US is no problem but I assume these players were already over in Europe, (certainly BS and RB were), so factoring in a return airfare for a 1hr. clinic might be a stretch. Hope I am wrong but it was Richard Bona and Billy Sheehan I really wanted to see.
  3. I see Richard Bona has abandoned his European tour due to the US - EU travel ban coming in tomorrow. I know UK is excluded from the ban but assume he, like Billy Sheehan, had the show as part of their European tours.
  4. I'm not bothering now. Something else has come along and pinched the funds.
  5. I was at Manchester Central last Friday for the House in the Sun exhibition. No sign of anything different from the norm. No sanitizers, reminder signs etc. so looks like the Bass Guitar show organisers are being proactive.
  6. If you have feet on the cab it just slides away. I just use the bungee to keep everything together when moving it.
  7. If you like your current set-up, just buy a fold up trolley from Aldi, ( I think they have them at the moment for £17), and a long bungee strap, the flat type, to keep everything in place when you move. I do something similar with 2 1x12's, a small head and an aluminium "bits box". Works a treat. Job done for minimum outlay. Looks like a number of like minded BassChatters.
  8. Wish you wouldn't. 😁
  9. If either of you decide to do this, I've got a sleeve that Mike Walsh, (Zoot Bass, Zoot Cabs, Purple Chili), made for me out of his "Helium Filled Ply". It may suit the TE Head. If it's of any interest, ping me a message.
  10. @solo4652 Steve, is this the Lakland you have? Maybe able to add some real user input.
  11. Keeping an eye on this one. Holmfirth isn't that far away either.
  12. Could you PM me your phone number and I'll give you a call.
  13. I honestly don't know. I would suspect the scratch plate was wrapped separately. It was done some years ago so suspect he may not remember but I'll ask him when we next speak.
  14. A pal of mine works in the vinyl Industry and has wrapped a number of guitars/basses. He already has a sideline supplying customised bass drum heads, (he is a drummer), and has also wrapped a number of complete drum kits. He did a stunning design for a guitar for my son and also a couple of scratch plates for various people. The fact that the original instrument is preserved and if you get fed up you just pull it off makes a load of sense to me. Also very cheap compared to a respray. Here's a guitar and bass he did.
  15. That could have been the same one I was interested in. Dawlish by any chance? From what I can see, Ashdown don't make a matching 1x12 to stack underneath it, which is a bit odd. They do a 1x15 that is exactly the same size but 2 1x12's would be my preference.
  16. The fan is slightly noisy, but fine in a gig situation. I always use a Tascam and headphones at home, so it doesn't bother me. The output level is interesting. When I first got it I was disappointed and compared to the MarkBass SA450 it was replacing, it seemed very under powered. I spoke to Dave Green at Ashdown, (who designed the amp), and he pointed out that the amp's output stage is different to most amps on the market. It has a linear volume control, so to get maximum output, you turn it to max. Most amps, MarkBass included, have their maximum volume at 12 O'Clock and then have a limiter to prevent it going further. His advice was set the Volume to maximum and control it with the input. That made an enormous difference. I found the same issue with an EA iAmp that has the same kind of design.
  17. Ashdown Retroglide 800. Some blurb from Ashdown: "Retroglide-800. Hand built in the UK Custom Shop the Retroglide is an 800 watt funk powerhouse." I've got one and have to agree.
  18. Excellent stuff, been there, done that myself. Way out of my comfort zone but what an exhilarating experience it was. Made me glad that I'd spent so much time on arpeggios in the woodshed.
  19. There was another thread about this exact same thing recently which may have some ideas. It went a bit off track but it's BassChat isn't it.😁
  20. It might be that the "links" are there so you can use more than one sub/top per side. We had an HK sysyem that had 3 subs/mids and 1 top per side.
  21. Whilst I am sure someone will either correct me, or better still a diagram, here's my 10 penneth. As PA Amps are usually 2 channel, ie: Left and Right You can use 2 amps that will run down to 4 Ohms on each channel and connect them up as below using a Crossover to split the frequencies. I Amp to power the tops, (Left and Right) and 1 amp to power the Subs, (Left and Right). It doesn't matter that the subs should be placed together, this is just to explain the linking up. So you would come out of your mixer, Left and Right, into an electronic crossover, and then Lows to one amp and Subs, highs to a second amp and Tops. Edit: Found a diagram I did a while ago which hopefully will explain. PA Basic Diagram.pdf
  22. Gee Electronics in Warrington would be your best bet. Problem is just to test and establish where the problem is will cost £25 - 35. As it most likely will then need a new PCB, the cost, (if you can get one), will likely easily outweigh the value. Roland Lumby is another possibility. Have you checked the Amp Techs thread.
  23. Axesrus.co.uk are a good place to start.
  24. As it's an active bass with a pre-amp installed, you will need to find the values used. This information is usually stamped on the back of the pots so a delve into the control cavity is required. When you know the values make sure you get some quality new pots and CTS are the benchmark here.
