1. I'd have this back in a split second if I had the money! Pete is a great guy to deal with too and knows how to look after his basses.
2. Hi, The other day I was wiring some new pickups into my bass, I then went to test it (stupidly) through my rig and ... POP. The status light on the front panel is now flashing from red to green. The user manual does not specify what type of issue this warning represents. Before I take it to a tech, does anyone know what this could possibly be? Cheers. p.s all the tubes are still glowing.
3. It doesn't look reliced! It just looks a mess lol! I guess I could get in contact with that guy and see if he can take my 'chop shop' and relic it properly from what I've done as I do like reliced basses. My problem is that it hold sentimental value so I don't really want to sell!
4. Hi All, I'm after your usual good advice. I'm thinking of having my P bass refined after trying to 'relic' is like an absolute d***k head a couple of months ago. I originally went to Manchester Guitar Tech but he's booked up until into next year. He recomended Spectrum Guitar Finishes. I have received a quote of (including fitting of Seymour Duncan SPB-3) : To: completely strip old finish back to bare wood. £35.00 To: remove neck & all parts, wire in new pickup, refit parts etc. & carry out set up. £50.00 To: prepare & lacquer in 'Vintage White' nitro cellulose, flat & polish etc. £220.00 Other comments they have noted are: We are a U.K. company that has recently relocated to Spain. We would arrange courier collection from you, this costs £24.00 We would courier back to you using Fedex FREE OF CHARGE. Turn round time is 4 weeks (because of the cellulose) from the time we receive it. I would really appreciate your opinions on this one as I have never had such work done to my guitars. Thanks guys!
5. No pain, no gain! Think of it this way, you don't need a gym membership, the average membership is £20 a month, times that by 12 months - £240, there's some tubes, maintainance sorted ... I have to justify it some how!
6. I need to get her to write up my appraisal! Uber cheese.
7. I'd have this back in a flash if I could justify having both an AD200 and an SVT. It's still under warranty until March (ish).
8. Sold pending payment
9. Hi All, In short, I've got some things to pay for and as usual one one my bass related things are going up for sale. Here we have my recently acquired Sansamp RBI. I'm pretty sure most people know what this is, pretty much the rack-mountable version of the BDDI but with dedicated mid control and XLR level. Its got a bit of rack rash but other than that is in great condition. Looking for £150 + P&P which is exactly what I paid for it. Bank transfer or cash on collection please. Here some pics:

11. Forgot to add, will re string before collection/delivery, just tell me your preference.
12. Hello, Up for sale is my Epiphone G400 SG. It's in relatively good condition, there's a few knocks (pictured) but it still looks great, the paint job is nice and glossy. Its had the tuners replaced by the previous owner which are of much better quality than the stock ones. There are some screw holes as pictured due to the replacement. This guitar was made on 2000 at the Unsung Plant, Korea. The cheapest I have been able to find the guitar new online is £249 at Andertons for the new Chinese equivalent Here's the usual manufacturers bumpf! A Gibson-authorized version of their great '62 SG, with solid mahogany body and slim taper mahogany neck. Separate volume and tone controls for each of the high-output humbuckers give you complete control of your sound. The deep double cutaway lets you reach all 22 frets with ease. Features: Pickups: 2 Alnico V Humbuckers Hardware: Chrome Scale Length: 24.75" Nut Width: 1.68" Neck: Set Neck Material: Mahogany Fretboard / Inlay: Rosewood / Trapezoid Body Material: Mahogany Looking for £115 collected. I will post at the buyers cost.
13. Subscribed to this, should be pretty interesting. Keep it up!
14. Just found out Joe the actual bassist uses the Killswitch Signature, the beast comes out the factory in drop C!!
15.
Try some high tension strings from Newtone Strings. I had two basses in Drop C Standard for a good 3 years, using 45-105 gauge strings, with a similar action and tension to standard tuning! The only downside to higher tension is that they often don't go up to Standard too well. You obviously have to set the neck up to accomodate them. Remember that it's the core of the string that determines tension, not really the size/guage of the outer winding. Give Malcolm a call, tell him your tuning, and they'll sort something out for you....usually for a similar price to Elites/Rotos Si
Nice one Si, I'll give em a ring. I need go get my bass setup for it too.
16. Hi! I'm going to be filling in for a mate on bass for three gigs in September. I'll be using my own equipment rather than his. The problem is, I tuned my P bass down to drop C and it sounds like a wet fart. From what I can gather, getting a thicker gauge set of strings will help, but does anyone have any other ideas ontop of a restring? Any help would be great. Thanks.
17. I've got the 410hlf, serious bottom end!
18. Here's my AD200B, 5 months old, bought for £1100 still have the receipt! This has never left the house or been turned up past half way (ok, a little lie, I had a go when I first got it at 3/4, and hurt my ears and the neighbours now dead parrot). Still in brand new condition. Shall we start the bidding at say ... £850? Unfortunately I wish not to post this. I would only trade for a 'very good' condition American SVT CL/AV or possibly SVT VR but I'd have to try that first. Thanks for looking.
19. Here's my setup, Orange AD200b, SVT410HLF, Fender P Bass Sounds ...... valvey
