If you spent the extra 150 or whatever on this you'd have a bass a lot better than those you're thinking of spending the 400 on i would of thought? Secondhand proper style bridge ,better or matched pickups /a set-up etc. Are you bothered about owning it because it's a copy? As many will tell you here a lot of copies are often near to as good as or sometimes better than the real thing. You've bought a bass that you've already been offered more than what you paid for it here. Keep it and pimp it ! In years to come you'll be glad you did imo.
I wonder how much feedback influences the eBay teams when a dispute opens up? I have over 500 positive feedbacks and am rated 4.9 out of 5 for the accuracy of my item descriptions, so I hope they'd cut me some slack! Regarding the OP, I always put a few words to describe the case when selling an instrument on eBay. Usually phrasing the sentence "This bass also comes with..." to suggest that the bass is the main auction item and the case secondary. For example, the Ken Smith Burner I finally sold on here recently had a case that I described both here on BC and eBay as "worn but fully functional". I hope you get it sorted. Cheers Gareth
It doesn't affect it Gareth,i pretty much won my dispute ,but the guy was still able to leave me bad feedback. When i asked for it to be removed ebay said they couldn't even though i'd won it . So i had my feedback at something like only 94% positive ,but only for 12 months . The best thing is to let it go to dispute and offer a full refund at last minute ,ebay will them they have to send it back at their own cost .

i had a guy in spain try this kind of thing ,sold him a very nice bass and he started saying the case was faulty ,then started saying the bass was faulty then tried to claim £500 off me. It went to a dispute and i offered him a full refund on it (though stated that wasn't any kind of admission of fault) he never returned it surprise surprise.
One of the cats came in a few months ago with a bat! Whilst it's certainly not funny from a wildlife conservation point of view, the look of bemusement on the cats face was funny - a sort of puzzled 'I didn't know mice can fly' expression.
I'd keep that one (after having it checked for Rabies!) Try other places if Cats Protection can't do any more ,you may be able to get vouchers to help out with having them neutered etc. Bet that was fun getting them in cages if they been living feral like !
I'm sure it is a type of walnut but iirc the wood was actually saman (spelling may not be spot on). I've still got an old USA Bass Guitar magazine with the original review somewhere!
It looks like a walnut (a-204 model) Maple were a-304/305 Saman a-104/105 -
I also own a Wal with two serial numbers It's a 5 string fretless, but on that database it's listed as a 4 string fretted. Another Wal mystery! But I don't give a "monkeys", it doesn't affect the sound, playability or looks, and I haven't lost any sleep over it yet in the 20 years I've owned it! Good luck with the sale
+1 doesn't make any difference. That's quite a rare one you have there ,i had one same construction in a cherry sunburst. It's an Ash core instead of the usual mahogany and (if i'm not mistaken) single pieces of birdseye as opposed to the usual bookmatched. body looks like an '83 ,neck '83 to early '87 at latest. good luck with the sale.

If is any help Rich,it's Definiteley post '87,they started the 25 fretters as a reaction/way to distinguish from the bass collections (with their mirror of the Tune headstocks etc.!!) The Zi model came out in '88 with that shaped body (but with the rear cutaway and the re-appearance of the earlier slanted one piece bridge plus 3 p/ups!) Never seen one with that type of bridge before. The Tunes are great basses, good luck with the sale.
I thought this looked very nice close up. I didn't try and play it, but had a close look. Not that I'd claim to really know, but I thought the workmanship looked very good, and the whole overall effect very visually pleasing.
how/where is string height adjusted? -
i am sure this bass is in the league of smith fodera f bass etc by the way i think you should tell more for this bass because is not famus so whats the nut width the bridge spacing the neck is chunky or not
That's stunning,I played one with a snakewood(!) fingerboard once...one of the best instruments i've ever tried and amazing craftsmanship, good luck with the sale.

Wal Midi Bass 4 String 1991 - Sold Through Bassgear.co.uk
walplayer replied to Mr Bassman's topic in Basses For Sale
......if you learn to deal with these rules and give the midi-bass "clear" information thanks to a good technique, you can do really inspiring things. Good luck with the sale !
+1 what Geert said. I owned a couple of these, the hold facility is great and you can push the midi/triggering boundaries to include looping drum loops etc. if you wanted or whatever direction.(join in on drums to confuse a drummer forever!!) You can change "patch" too by holding down the pedal and just briefly fretting a corresponding note on neck!! plus you can play real synth bass 'stead of all these emulation pedals. They're easy to use/figure out too, good luck with the sale!! -
Result! Looks like new now, whoever chose to paint it black needs a stern talking to methinks!
That's excellent Matt !!! So glad you stuck with it and i bet you are too now!! probably sounds better too now without all the lacquer/paint? Bet you were wondering/dreading what'd be under the black yeah the guy that finished it black i think may of been influenced by geddy or maybe newstead from metallica ,it was done in the 90's. nice sap lines in middle and headstock looks about a thousand times cooler now too with the proper logo!! Is one of the last few signed by Ian about a month before he sadly passed away iirc. looks great!!

They're easy to master once you get the hang of them. Any chances of those 5th fret/neck photos I asked about before?
thanks bud,i'll have camera back tomorrow hopefully.
what's the nut made of? can u outline the controls, ie. what the switches do etc?
Brass nut (or some other metal/alloy) looks original. two vols, two tone ,front toggle =pick-up selector back one if i have it right,is a phase switch...it's subtle ,but i think the tones are affected to by this too, depending on the switch position. there was an online brochure somewhere but can't recall where.
