NOW GONE TO A GOOD HOME Fretless Precision mim active deluxe special body with p/j mag pickups plus Ghost piezo bridge pickup Fender Jazz Special MIJ neck unlined rosewood board . I had the neck fitted by a luthier who set it up properly,it's an '87 neck . The person who fitted the piezo bridge removed the old mid pot and linked the piezo in that way. Controls ; Volume ,Pan and Stacked Bass Treble boost and cut all for the magnetic pickups Volume control for the piezo with push /pull function ,(Ghost describe it as Light and Dark) Not mint has a few dings and scratches ,some scratchy noise on the pan control for the mag pickups but a good solid bass. Huge range of tones you can mix in ,it's strung with rounds currently but would really be better with flats on Comes with Fender gig bag and original bridge ,plus the booklet for the piezo and other bits that weren't used. I'll get some more pics up,it looks black ,i thought it was for a while but it's actually very very very dark blue
I think some of it was that, yes. I also think a lot was just pure, envious hatred and sheer bitterness that it happened to someone other than them. I mean it's a tough world living in mothers basement. What I don't get is if they'd just step away from the computer and get out more, they may actually find their own something or other one day. I never understood people like this, Why be hateful because something good happens to someone. Just be happy for them.
if you sell it ,sell it to europe only ,that'll get 'em goin oh and put the pics up here too please if possible -
brand x have reformed apparently (well jones and goodsall are in it anyway)

Actually bass might have been in the embassy in mansfield when i went there in 96 ,there were two walnut lined ones ,one with a paddle headstock and one like that iirc. -

There's been a few instances of duplicate serial number Wals i wouldn't worry about it. Might be dodgy but just as possible , a good lunch at the snooker club before Pete put it together Have a look at the walbassesnaturally site ,there's some on there with duplicate numbers. Could have been an owner also who might have had two and switched the plate by mistake? -
Im not a big fan of effects, i think they make you (probably me) a lazy player, for years i've just plugged a lead into the amp for some true tone. Playing with effects imo seems mainly to cover up your true ability and allows you to get away with a lot more. Each time i try a pedal all that happens is the sound i like and can hear dissapears and is replaced by something else, usually lost in the mix, when i switch it back off it feels a bit like losing an arm, so i'd rather do without and try to do my very best using touch and tone directly from my fingers, concentrating on each note.. Saying all that im considering getting a compressor, but if im honest im not 100% sure what it will do for me, hopefully it will balance the sound from my Active Jazz so that when i "dance" off the octaves the D + G strings will sound equally as punchy as the E + A, if this makes sense. So go on, somebody explain exactly what a compressor will do for me and should i invest. Sell me a compressor with your wordsmithmanship !!! (am looking at an EBS multicomp btw) Oh i should add i have a DOD envelope filter at home, it was a great novelty, but went the way of the others and sat on the shelf for about 3 years now, might put it up for sale..
might help to think of compression as more of a "process" than an effect if that makes sense . A good one can bring a whisper up to the same level as a shout and not let you hear it working hard. Some ppl can't tell the difference though between a compressed and uncompressed sound. Does it have to be in pedal form or would you consider rack too? Saw a Symetrix 501 go for 125ish on ebay last week they're very good for the money and the rane dc24(?) works well on bass in that price range.. other pedals in that price range frantone sandwich, diamond bcp1 ,trace smx dual, mxr bass comp. There's also the cali 76 by origin which i was told sounds not very much like an 1176 but is still a good pedal. All worth checking out.
