1.
didnt realise dan had rejoined as the vocal style is more that of ashe, certainly dans vocals on the first album were more growly geuss thats just the direction they are going and i like it
I assure you, it's dan https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gusw3ywEozU
2. That live EP is absolutely amazing. Shame it doesn't feature the new singles, but still, immense!
3.
Anyone else get Thumb gas?
Massively. Dat tone.
4.
love Tesseract, though its taken me a while to like the new vocalist, the first album i prefered vocal wise, but hes growing on me. The technicality of playing this stuff is amazing, trying to tap along can be really tricky and if you like Tesseract check out Periphery, though vocals are a bit heavier
Tesseract now have their original vocalist back! He rejoined for the third album! I agree, he's much better than the guy they had in during the second album. I'm a big fan of periphery too, as well as heart of a coward, meshuggah, et al!
5. They're good. They've been good since their first album. However, they've just released their third and it's really really good. The bass tone in particular I think is amazing. Sure, there may be more technical bassists out there, but I think it's really tight playing by their bassist on this record. I know it's quite heavy so may put off quite a lot because metal is an acquired taste, however hopefully that won't be a barrier Here's a playthrough video by the bassist from one of their recent singles: Admittedly, not the fastest or most complex bass part, however it's played with such brilliant dynamic control and in time signatures that I certainly can't manage! Plus, there's no reliance on effects pedals. He's just going preamp -> recording interface and it sounds phenomenal! Thoughts? Are there any other Tesseract fans amongst you? It's not just the bass that is great, the vocalist is really good. It's quite rare to hear 'proper' signing in heavy metal, especially so well executed. The first of the two links below is a good example of his great voice. Here's another couple of singles of theirs, should you be tempted: https://www.youtube....h?v=jO_Cp-Qlg5E https://www.youtube....h?v=get0cXOsSXg
6. I use these to attach microphones for recording ambient crowd: http://www.djmmusic....T5lmxoCqdTw_wcB That way I can clamp the microphone to the PA stands, mic stands, lighting truss, etc, as appropriate. If you look at videos from big gigs and festivals, you'll see those LP Claws in use everywhere and for everything! They're very handy!
7. Still available. Will entertain offers. Would part-ex (+£) with a Barefaced Gen3 Compact
8. I'm not sure I'm afraid, they are whatever Mesa chose to put in there! They sound good though
9. This very indiscreet head is now sold to Discreet!
10. £300, including the case!
11. As above, but will now accept £325 for the head+case.
12.
Would consider a trade for Barefaced-ness.
As above, and still available!
13. As someone who used to work in GuitarGuitar, I've had more than my fair share of hearing Sweet Child o' Mine badly played.
14. Would consider a trade for Barefaced-ness.
15. Would consider a trade for an Aguilar Tonehammer.
16. I much prefer Mongol Horde, if anyone's heard of them? Admittedly they are a three-piece (Vocals/Guitar/Drums) but the Guitarist plays a baritone guitar with the signal split to generate both the guitar and bass parts. Here's a live video. Yes it is crowd shot, but the audio is of an acceptable quality! https://youtu.be/kNcxo6ZVuJk?t=1m12s OR if you prefer studio: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4alaVpNeWmY
17. I would expect the courier to be in the region of £40. I'm away at the moment but will be back home from Monday and will find out for you. EDIT: The courier I use has an online booking calculator that's offline for maintenance. Once this is back up, I'll investigate the cost for you. I've used them before though, so I'd expect it to be £40 from experience.
18. 8 Ohms minimum. 600W RMS maximum.
19. I'm not on the prowl for anything at the moment I'm afraid.
20. I haven't been active on here in a long time, and I haven't been active on the strings either sadly. I'm hanging onto the basses for now, but the gig-sized amp setup has to go unfortunately. It's an: Mesa/Boogie 4x10 Road-Ready Cab The cab is big. It's heavy. But it's built into a flight-case with wheels. Amazing sound, and what else would you expect from Mesa/Boogie? It is a few years old now, and does have the old style logo, but it's just as good, if not made better. It has rubber feet on the side, so that it can be rotated 90 degrees and put on-top of another cab (should you have one). In short, this rig is the perfect gigging/touring set-up. Well-protected, reliable, from brands to be trusted. Pictures are attached, and CLICK HERE to view a video. As you can see, the cab's front cover does have a band name stenciled on the front, but you can easily re-spray it black. I haven't bothered as that bit comes off when you're on stage anyway! Asking price is £200. I'm in Epsom (Surrey), feel free to try before you buy. Alternatively, I can drive a reasonable distance to meet. I have a courier I can use if you're further away to post.
21. Unfortunately, I don't really do music or sound engineering anymore and so this piece of kit is going spare. It's a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 firewire interface. I've used it for studio recording, live recording, and pretty much everything! It's got Focusrite's incredible pre-amps for an amazing tone, and can handle 8 microphone inputs, plus a host of other ins/outs. Pictures will follow tomorrow, but here's a link to the product page. http://global.focusr.../saffire-pro-40 They still seem to retail around £350 new (and for good reason), and the 2nd hand market seems to be around £200-250. As this one has a few scratches on the top and bottom from being rackmounted, I think £200 is a more than fair price for it! I'm based in Epsom, so feel free to swing by if you'd like to try/buy in person. Alternatively, I can post this out. So, £200 for an AWESOME piece of kit that every music engineer/student should have. What say ye?
22. Excellent, thanks
23. I entered it as 700, no punctuation. I think it's because I hadn't paid a subscription, but now that I have, it hasn't 'unlocked' my hidden post. I can recreate it, but it was quite lengthy so I'd like to have to avoid having to re-type it all out if I can!
24. Hello. I've bought a subscription and created a 'for sale' thread, but alas it's still not showing. Could a mod assist? http://basschat.co.uk/topic/265885-ampeg-svt-head-and-mesa-410-cab-both-flightcased-l350-each
