1. 100 what!? Madness!
2. Bass terror and isobaric cabs now purchased
3. A PM is flying to you as if it were carried by a magnificent owl.
4. Payment sent! Thanks hooky.
5. If the combo's minimum impedance is 8 Ohms (which I'd assume from that), you can't use it with a 4 Ohm cabinet.
6. Hello. Welcome to basschat! I live in Dorset (Bournemouth) and I'm about to sell my Ashdown kit in favour of a new system. It's an Ashdown Little Giant head and two Ashdown cabs (2x10 and a 1x15). Coincidence? Let me know if you'd be interested in trying it out. Alex.
7. Spent a while thinking about it and I'm now down to two options. Orange Bass Terror and one of their isobaric cabs Promethean. I'm leaning towards the Orange atm.
8. I think I may have found my solution. It is a tad on the pricey side though, unless I can find one second hand.
9. That looks spot on! Any ideas on volume for live? Should it be enough?

11. One of the comments on that video.
Wanna get that sound without hunting down a $ 400 vintage Jet Phaser? Get yourself an old Korg AX1B from Ebay for about $40; set it: Drive: DIST 8 -- Tone: 7/10/9/6/8/-7 -- Mod.: FLANG4/6 -- Ped: VOL 16 -- Amb: HALL1/4 -- Amp sim: T4 -- Nr: 16 -- Lv: 24 Bob's your uncle :-)
12.
I don't think he likes my compressor button.
Engineer: "Well Wayne, for recording on this song we're going to use a bit of compression on your bass. I'm planning on using a tube optical outboard unit on the signal prior to AD conversion, and then once digitised I'll use a few plugins, perhaps a bit of multi-band and a good limiter." Wayne: "DON'T WORRY. I HAZ COMPRESSORS BUTTON!" Engineer: [Facepalm]
13. I was previously (and until I find a new rig) using an Ashdown head with two cabs, yet I moved to uni a few months ago and now have something taking up a lot of room, and without a car, something difficult to take anywhere. I'm after suggestions. 1. A small amp I can use for practicing and studio work. I'll then put my big rig away in storage where it doesn't get in the way and then only bring it out for live playing. Alternatively 2. A smallish amp that I can use for everything. Compact enough to sit here, yet loud enough to be perfectly fine for live. In this eventuality I'd be able to sell my big rig so would have a bigger budget. So I expect looking at about £100 for option 1 or £500 budget for option 2. I use Ashdown at the moment which sounds great, I really love the deep and warm tone, yet I really want something with a powerful rocky sound (with a good overdriven tone available as well), Ampeg and Marshall come to mind. So, your suggestions? Good links? I'm definitely going second hand, and if you happen to be selling something that'd be good then feel free to treat this as a wanted thread as well. The orange terror, isobaric setups do look tasty. Not sure if they'd be the right sound for me? I don't know what tone they give.
14. eBay will be the best solution. You'd probably get a bit more than £100 for it the right person finds it.
15. P-Bass J-Bass Rick Thunderbird Stingray. Those 5?
16. What are they?
17. Spent a day playing with the Fender again, and my fears were confirmed. I prefer the Ryder. The Fender has now been sent to live with a friend, the Ryder shall stay
18. They are a useful tool yet have a tendency to be used by teenage metal drummers who hammer constantly throughout every song with no dynamic control or fluctuation. Just constant beating. When used properly however...
19. gtfo, I use one
20. A double bass pedal is like a normal bass drum pedal, yet has a second pedal attached by a long arm, thus allowing a drummer to use one bass drum in place of two. They're used a lot by metal drummers who don't want to have to cart two bass drums around.
21.
I remember in my teens my uncle lent me his Gibbo (G3?) which was lovely but it weighed a ton. Fenders don't do a lot for me I'm afraid. Nice to play but boring looks. I'd like a Warwick or a Wal but that will have to be for later.
If you like the Gibsons, then perhaps look at getting an Epiphone model second hand? Dare I say a Thunderbird?
22.
I'm one.... but it tends to be the PA and Mixing equipment rather than whats on stage
This. And drum kits. uh gaod I love the cymbals!
23. I accidentally gave myself an insight in to how I feel about my instruments. My housemate offered to keep some of my basses in his room whilst he is away so that I have more space. My 4 basses are: Shine Extreme Series 5 Fender Jazz Epiphone Thunderbird Pro Ryder Precision I decided within a second that the shine can go behind the locked door as it never gets used. Then next I made the decision that the tbird would be staying with me, and then it was just a case of whether to hang on to the jazz or ryder. That was difficult and I almost found myself choosing the Ryder! But in the end I chose the keep the Fender with me as I want something that I don't mind other people using. Could it be? I prefer the Ryder... WUT.
24. I shall now be attempting to find just a normal one second-hand. Here goes nothing...
