1.
I'm one.... but it tends to be the PA and Mixing equipment rather than whats on stage
This. And drum kits. uh gaod I love the cymbals!
2. I accidentally gave myself an insight in to how I feel about my instruments. My housemate offered to keep some of my basses in his room whilst he is away so that I have more space. My 4 basses are: Shine Extreme Series 5 Fender Jazz Epiphone Thunderbird Pro Ryder Precision I decided within a second that the shine can go behind the locked door as it never gets used. Then next I made the decision that the tbird would be staying with me, and then it was just a case of whether to hang on to the jazz or ryder. That was difficult and I almost found myself choosing the Ryder! But in the end I chose the keep the Fender with me as I want something that I don't mind other people using. Could it be? I prefer the Ryder... WUT.
3. I shall now be attempting to find just a normal one second-hand. Here goes nothing...
4. The PG range are just a cheap range of brothers to the proper SM series. PG58 to the SM58 for example. They'll be better than most rubbish you'll pick up and will be fine to use live, yet I would recommend putting your money elsewhere. Especially if you're buying for studio purposes. I would recommend getting http://www.thomann.de/gb/the_tbone_mb85_beta.htm Effectively a ripoff of the Shure Beta 58, but VERY well done.
5.
The cost of the raw neodymium in our drivers has gone from about £5 to £50 per woofer, in the last year.
WUT. What drove up the price!?
6. Potential deal? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Trace-Elliot-V-Type-...=item230f77526a
7.
you should have no problem sourcing a pre-owned SM58 or similar.
The trouble is finding a genuine one and not a fake.
8. I'd recommend using Firewire drives personally
9. After speaking to them for the past few weeks, I just got another email from them. Gibson don't do customs for their basses. AWWW SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
10. Indie Guitars. Their gigbags are very good.
11. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RICKENBACKER-4003-BA...=item25621fefe1 Not sure of their usual price but that seems pretty cheap.

13.
You want mids and highs from the mic and the e602 scoops loads of the important mids out. Check it's frequency response:
Interesting. I go the other way round; relying on DI for clear and articulate mid/highs and then mic for POWERAWESOMENESSBLOWYOURFACEOFFBASS. Hence the e602 choice.
14. If you're looking for two active full-range speakers then the Tapco Thump speakers come highly recommended but if you can afford their mackie counterparts then go for them instead! http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product~name~M...5A~ID~12773.asp http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product~name~M...ck~ID~13174.asp
15. You'd never use a cabinet mic solo. It should be used in combination with a good DI. The microphone is there just to add that bass power/tone to it that you just can't get from DI alone. Hence using what is primarily a bass drum microphone. You don't need to rely on it to reproduce everything, it's there to do a specific job in supplementing the DI, and a microphone like the e602 does that best.
16. Posted this elsewhere but reposting for brilliance.
17. Sennheiser e602-II seems to be the microphone of choice for the touring bands we have in. Recommended http://www.thomann.de/gb/sennheiser_e_602_ii.htm
18. My two favourites are the two I'll take. Thunderbird as main with the Jazz riding shotgun. Alternatively the Jazz will come out as the main if there is risk or excess alcohol
19. expertvillage successfully makes me rage, every time.
20. Ashdown Perfect 10 Mini-Rig. Simply amazing. Don't be expecting trace watts though!
21. ISD would be 0044?
22. Firewire really is the only way to go. And IMO the Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 is the way to go about it.
23. Just sticking this up for reference in case someone needs it in future. Industry standard is: AKG C451 for over-heads and hi-hat Sennheiser e603 for toms SM57 for snare top and bottom Beta 52 for bass (with an SM91 as well if you're really going all out) Alternatively if you're on a budget and buying new then I'd recommend: Behringer C2 for over-heads and hi-hat Thomann MB75 for toms and snare PG 52 for bass
