1. Fancy a swap for a boxed Korg G5 ?
 2.
Oh wait I've changed my mind..
There's a surprise
 3. Need a price Rob - them is the rules
 4.
Good memory (and detective work!)
Are herein lies the rub . The bass we've all heard on the hits isn't the one for sale at all .
 5. Well I know it sounds weird , but I just can't hear myself . Not a problem normally , but on a rally , it's just so bloody loud . I bought a 6x10 primarily for the really loud gigs , and sometimes it's a stuggle at times . You'll unlikely to have a 5 way monitor mix , so it's 2 way , and do it as best fits (probably for the drummer and singer) . We've got a loud drummer with a DW kit that I swear is twice as loud as his old Pearl , and I'm between him and guitarist with a half stack blasting away . Just need more headroom on the amp , so an upgrade , or a power amp run off the head for the few loud gigs will probably do . Paul .
 6. Local bike rally , 6th or 7th year in a row we've done it . Big PA run by my mate . Good support band . 3 of the guys do a prog offshoot with another couple , so they went on 2nd , with us other 2 coming up for the last hour and a half . Bloody loud as usual . Bit a farting noise when I detuned to a low C for one song , unsure if its the speaker or the amp . I suspect my Eden WT400 probably reached it's limit , as at times all 3 clip lights were on . I'm probably gonna sell some gear and either buy a CA-9 or a DB750 , that should sort it . Money I havn't got though - ho hum . Bloody cold in the marquee , as the first 5 or 6 songs I couldn't get the fingers to do what they should . Corker of a gig though - gotta love those rallys .
 7.
How does a graphite neck stop a tuner being knocked?
It doesn't , that's not what I said . It gets knocked in the bag , as I said , but in a case , the tuning of a graphite neck I've found to be more stable that a wooden neck . This thread has weaved slightly , and I've gone with it . Protection in a gigbag is never as good as a case , and this can put the tuning out - this is what I meant . The only way around this , is to go headless .
 8.
I once worked a gig with a piano player who only played in C but changed the tuning on his keyboard for every song. Needless to say, I didn't play with him twice.
I played in a function band once with one of those . He wasn't from out King Lynn way by any chance ? On the tuning issue - get a graphite necked bass . Mine only goes out slightly if it gets a knock in the gigbag . But I swear , when it was in a case , it was never ever out of tune - not once . Hot stage lights , cold outside barn dance , who cares - still in tune . Guy Pratt mentions in his book , that his Status was in his mum's barn or something , for like years . Took it out , and it was still in tune .
 9. I know you said no trades , but I see that you've sold pretty much everything apart from the Burninator . Do you fancy a trade with a boxed Korg G5 synth pedal + £20 your way for the Burninator ?
 10.
The guy at Eden customer support said,"I'd go with the 2x10xst at 8 Ohms, it has slightly more bottom than the xlt and will complement the 4x10 perfectly.
That's a combination that has been mentioned alot over on Talkbass . A popular one by all accounts . I was going to go down this route , but ended up with a 610 instead . As stated , make it a 8ohm 210 with the 4ohm 410 , and all the speakers will be pumping out the same .
 11.
It may only be roots and fifths but it's ALL about the groove. Get it right and you'll be dancing on the stage. It aint as easy as you think
+1 I did around 6 years on and off from around 17 yrs old , and it was good grounding . It's pretty much all feel (as I found it) , especially the Western swing , or maybe the Outlaw stuff (Waylon Jennings etc) . If it's Country and Irish , it's unlikely to be of the Ricky Scaggs frantic pace . Just enjoy it , as if it's a proper Irish boozer , prepare for a great night . They'll love the band , forgive you for almost anything , and likely to be well hammered by the end . If they've got a switched on drummer , then you're set . Just enjoy it mate , I guarantee it by the 2nd set you'll be in full swing . You will let us know how it went I hope ?
 12. Has anyone heard anything on this yet ? . Given me a chuckle , if nothing else . Who does he honestly think would entertain it ?
 13.
They come highly recommended by Victor Wooten...
Then when he has a gig in Norway , and the airline have lost them , he has to do the gig with a Marcus Miller scrunchie
 14. I'm surprised this has lasted the day . Great price - don't really need it , or I would . Free bump .
 15. For me , it's Status Stealth Vigier Passion greenburst that was on Ebay last year (got to track down the seller) Markbass synth pedal As per usual , this is all down to funds
 16. A Stealth , is around 7lbs I believe . On my list - just need the 2K though . A popular upgrade is from the 2 band to the S2 3 band circuit . Worth a look , but beware - major GAS (I've been down there twice) . It's like Mecca to a lot on here .
 17.
Essex virgins
Bit optimistic , don't you think . Is this a classic oxymoron ?
 18.
While this thread is still getting a huge audience, can I mention my mint vintage sunburst '62 P is up for sale. A beauty or what?
I need to see the neck pocket first , or I'm just taking your word for it .
 19. My word , there's a lot of folk reading this .
 20.
Also a nice surprise playing Dave C's Vigier - a real balance of tone and volume across and up the neck.
Well you should have played it at the East Anglian bash a few months ago , though I did hog it a bit Which one did you try of Dave's , his older brown one or the new blue ? They're both great , aren't they . Couldn't make it , but sounded great . Hopefully be at the next local one . Paul .
 21.
Have to say that I was annoyed by the reference/picture of the "Aria Pro II". The blurb referred to John Taylor and Cliff Burton as noted players - fine. But both these guys played an Aria Pro II SB and this was not the bass pictured. This information is so well-known in the bass domain that it just smacks of plain laziness to not have it presented fully and correctly. Rant over.
It certainly makes you wonder if they have a clue , doesn't it . That and the Precision being modelled on the Strat
 22. I'm not normally a fan of this type of music . But I like this alot .
