:-D mosfet on the first channel ( always on) 2nd channel led as well.it's great having the 1st channel ran into my Vtbass bass as my tone :-)
Good call Dan! I'm going to try LEDs on the second channel instead of MOSFET actually, Tom gave my second channel higher gain so it should sound brutal! :-) I liked the sound of the Germys on the first channel, but struggled a bit to get unity volume at low gain (I refuse to use the blend). MOSFET at low gain just gives it a valvey, dynamic grit which I LOVE! :-)
I got my Knightfall 66 today. I know you guys were saying good things about these, but it wasn't till I plugged it in that I truly understood what it was all about.
Absolutely, mine has already knocked the B3K and SFT off the board!...It stacks so well with other pedals too, makes the Rat sound even more aggressive and it seems to give the Tall Font Russian even deeper subs! Our drummer nearly s**t his pants when I kicked that on the other night! I have the first channel (with MOSFET clipping) as "always on" grit now, as it's so dynamic, and I've never really been able to do that with a dirt pedal before...
Just back from using it at a rehearsal. Best basses in the world!
Been using mine at rehearsals for the last fortnight, definitely the best basses in the world! It just sounds SO good, and somehow bassier than my Jazz and Sandberg which I wasn't expecting! It's near to 5kg however...Need to start the back exercises or it's gonna do me in!

Original Digitech Bass Whammy already going down in value, £149 @ Bass Direct?
bakerster135 replied to Kev's topic in Effects
The bass whammy (and it's brother whammy 2) both had the same IVL-made technology as the wh1, but had an "input" gain control (unlike the automatic input sensor of the wh1) which made them track worse. A lot of Tool fans wanted the bass whammy for its 5th-Octave up harmoniser setting, which helped to push the value up. Now this is available on the reissue though so the original's kinda obsolete. -
Mike bought my Catalinbread SFT. Very quick and easy transaction, enjoy the pedal Mike!

Onstage at the Garage, sweating like f**K, pulling a bass face and clearly trying out some bizarre new right-hand technique! ...
Do they make bass guitars?
It's American for wheel arch, isn't it?...Don't know why anyone would be talking about that on here!? -
Bridge places it at 1980, but it's always worth checking the neck and body dates (stamped under where the neck joins the body, so you'd need to take the neck off!) as parts can be from other years around that date (e.g. mine has a '79 bridge but a '78 neck!). Maple-neckers seem to be going in the region of £1400-1600 at the minute.

Billy Sheehan Signature Drive pedal alternatives?
bakerster135 replied to BassApprentice's topic in Effects
I'd say that the Ashdown Lomenzo Hyperdrive is a LOT more like the EBS Sheehan pedal. The Nate Mendel model is very Tube Screamer-ish (I.e. Fulltone Bassdrive). Check the YouTube clips, you'll notice the difference. The Hyperdrive can often be had very cheap though! -
Just back from using it at a rehearsal. Best basses in the world!
They are just lovely...I cannot believe how good and loud mine sounds just acoustically, before the preamp even gets involved! It's just so different to any EB Stingray I've ever played!
The stereo version has uploadable patches and has the best shimmer mode I've ever heard, and you can also upload chorus or delay patches: http://neunaber.net/...omizer-software
Ah yes, just to clarify I meant little/no difference on the standard reverb between stereo/mono! Dannybuoy's right though, If you want these other little bits, you can only get them on the stereo model. Personally never been a fan of shimmer though and have chorus and delay, so it never bothered me! ...

You may have seen it, but I reckon this guy shows it off nicely (from around the 2:05 point). There's no other reverb with a decay quite like it...I tried the stereo btw, and there's little/no difference from the mono. Not worth the extra £££ anyway!
New boards Just waiting on some daisy chains to power the thing! Possibly replacing the Trem and OC3 with a COG version
Lovely stuff! I used to have a G5 and loved it! How's the TK-421 working out for you? I'm still intrigued to hear all about the LPF/HPF combination! ... -
HAHA! Tables have turned, I enquired about that one at andy baxter after being converted by my red one, only to be told it was gone. haha! (planned on chopping in my 93 EB ray and a precision, or two ) Looks a real beauty, nice one!
Ahhh, haha! Oh, I'm sorry, though very glad I got in there when I did then! I was going to go for a different one, but changed my mind when I played that one at Andy B's! It's a truly fantastic bass Just keep an eye on Andy's site, he's had so many great 'rays through there, he's bound to have another cracker in in no time!

Amazing. They could be sisters! Has yours got a brass nut on it? How do you find that if so, does it improve things?

This arrived today... "The Punisher" Knightfall 66, with a bit more gain on the second channel! I CANNOT WAIT to try this out tonight!

I watched Jools especially to see these (after many recommendations), and was disappointed...I think they're in danger of becoming seriously over-hyped, and potentially imploding before they've really done anything! I just feel that as soon as the novelty's worn off, they do just end up sounding like a poor man's Black Keys or White Stripes. Like some others mentioned, I feel like Death From Above already did the "lead bass" thing so much better, and they were a lot more exciting! Worryingly I thought the best performance of the show was Paulo Nuttini doing "Diana"! ...

I got this last week, but I've been a bit slack!...So, belated new (old) Stingray day!!! It's a 1978/79 (neck is 1978, body unknown, pots 1979). I do believe this bass has previously belonged to a couple of Basschatters!?...Make yourselves know if so! Oh yeah, and it is a BEAST!!!
