1. I've got such bad GAS for an OCD type pedal at the moment, but really can't decide whether I should go for it, and whether I really NEED one! I currently have the following in terms of dirt: Catalinbread SFT (newer graphic) Darkglass B3K Wren & Cuff Tall Font Russian COG Rat Tail/Fulltone Bassdrive clone Fuzzrocious Rat Tail Turbo Rat Is there anything that an OCD/Fuzzrocious Demon will do that none of those will cover!? I'm on the edge and so close to picking one up, I just need someone to push me over or pull me back! ... Al
 2. Hartke Attack is more modelled on an amp preamp, not an active bass preamp, if that makes sense!?... Worth keeping an eye out for an Aguilar DB924 too (version before Tonehammer). Can be had within your budget, I've got one and I never leave home without it!
 3. Yep, get an Aguilar Tonehammer or a Sadowsky outboard preamp. Performs exactly the same function as having an active onboard preamp, and you don't have to carve your bass up!
 4.
They're all a very similar circuit, albeit with some component/architectural changes, and with the 66, some significant feature additions. I'm currently running my 66 with Germaniums in channel 1 and LEDs in channel 2, the OCD circuit, same as the DEMON, is traditional MOSFET clipping. As such, the answer is yes, the 66 can get OCD/DEMON-esque tones, but a lot more to boot! Si
Lovely stuff! I assume it can get pretty high gain as well? Have you been able to get anywhere near the scooped B3K-type tone from it as well at all? Tom's stuff's already on my board, but I'm looking to cover as many dirt tones with as few dirt boxes as possible! Thanks Si
 5.
Yup. Who in their right mind would want to be a superb bassist, prolific songwriter and multimultimillionaire?
Yes, though despite all that you would have the personality of Sting...That's a punishment no-one deserves! ;-)
 6.
I'm kinda liking this weekly change around Si
Si, may be a bad comparison, but can you get sounds similar to an OCD/Demon from the 66 Knightfall?
 7. Running it after all the other dirt, but have tried it before and it was the same.
 8. I've got one of the newer graphic SFTs, run off the Diago 18v adaptor. I do bloody love it for raging Ampeg/Timmy C tones, and it's so nicely touch-sensitive that I do leave it on 80% of the time. HOWEVER, I find it does not stack well with any of my dirt pedals apart from the Rat, bizarrely...Of course you'll be alright with this though! ;-)
 9. I'm pretty sure this is well worth it! http://webshop.cashconverters.co.uk/auction-item/654783/dod-fx25-guitar-pedal-envelope-filter
 10.
This site is a good resource for clips also, this dude has owned/built nearly every overdrive pedal going! http://johnkvintageg...ive-Pedals.html
This site is quality, btw!...I think we have very different taste in dirt (he HATES the B3K! ), but I'd love to get my hands on one of his DAM Ezekiel clones! ...
 11.
That, my friend, is because you are not Sting...
And that, my friend, is something to be very glad of!!
 12.
I use a Catalinbread SFT for this purpose, although I'm interested in picking up a ZVex Basstortion, Fairfield Barbershop, Wampler Euphoria, Cusack Screamer, RunOffGroove Ginger, or Barber Direct Drive.
Good luck getting hold of ANY of those for £30-40! ...
 13. For that kind of money, I'd look at the Dod OD-250, Joyo Ultimate Drive (Fulltone OCD clone) or Ashdown Lomenzo Hyperdrive. All do nice mild overdrive and tubey, albeit in different ways!
 14.
Andertons had end of March - but I got another email afterwards saying May. So it's totally confusing.
Now Andertons are saying end of February!... It's not like I'm checking that website every day or anything!
 15. It's definitely fretless, played with a pick. Here's the isolated bass track on youtube. Recorded with a 1978 fretless Precision apparently!
 16. I'm sure someone on here found a Sandberg in a Cash Converters for about £200 or something!?...That would be a good day! :-)
 17.
The HPF is to give a little nasal sound if possible. Aiming for an animato type sound.
Well, defo let us know how that works out. I've been looking to get the Animato sound for ages, without actually having to fork out for an Animato!
 18.
I've also got a new unit on the way, which was the brain child of my brain and imagination going wild, and Tom assisting heavily! It's the GREY FUZZ?! (no affiliation towards the stache!), but not so much of a nod but a full blown point at Grey Fox from metal gear (Cyborg Ninja). It will house 2 fuzz circuits (TK-421-x and Grand Tarkin) with HPF and LPF on the TK and usual tone controls from the Tarkin. It will have 3 inputs over all (in TK, in Tarkin, In clean) but can be ran with one cable into a single input (and both circuits work!). The 3rd input will have a feed from after my tuner (before oc2) into another octave/compressor and just be insane.
Get photos up as soon as you receive this! Sounds fantastic Just to make you feel even better about the TK-421-x I've just sold a Rat Tail on to our guitarist, having picked one up from Joe's a couple of weeks ago so I could compare with the COG and my old Turbo Rat. The COG destroys the Fuzzrocious! Bizarrely the Rat Tail was my least favourite of the three...Don't know if it's the tin-can LM308 but quite an excessive top-end roll off, and I found the clipping on the highs to be a bit brittle and fizzy? Just couldn't get that "Clank" out of it on the low-gain settings, which is what I love about the original and the COG. The clean LPF/blend on the COG is just ingenious, makes it SO versatile! I'm very intrigued about the HPF on yours
 19. I use the Diago Patchfactory stuff. Solderless, low profile, reasonably priced and very reliable.
 20.
eeenvy! I must try a reverb on my board this year
Well, I very nearly bought a Blue Sky, but couldn't quite stretch that far and it wouldn't fit on my board! The Neunaber's certainly recommended though! It's not hugely versatile, only does a plate type reverb but it does it amazingly well! Just a beautiful decay...I spent most of my "working from home" day today producing sounds that would make Eno proud!
 21.
awesomeness how is the 'verb with the TFR???
Cheers Gaz! As you know, the TFR sounds great with anything! It's HUGE through the Neunaber though, of course some octave down from the Whammy helps too!
 22. Have you seen the Subdecay Starlight Quantum or DLX? Never tried one, but they look incredibly versatile and intriguing!...
 23. Recent Updates! Just ordered a Polytune mini which I hope will fit on the side :-s...
