1.
His live sound after evil empire is really crap though. Not heard a live set where it sounds anything like the recording.
Defo agree with this, saw them at Finsbury Park a couple of years back (where he was using a Lakland JO interestingly...) and his sound was poor! Wooly and absolutely no definition... Some people have uploaded the solo bass tracks to youtube for a couple of tunes, taken from Guitar Hero I believe...Well worth a listen!
2. That "unknown" pedal is an overdrive/distortion he made himself, and he modded the Guvnor to make it a bit more bass friendly. I get a good basic grit (a la end of Wake Up) with the b3k, LED Rat does the heavier sounds well. A lot of his tone comes from his SVT really though...
3. Resurrecting this thread, seriously considering getting one of these to replace my WH1. I mainly use the -/+ 1 octave, 1 octave up and 5th/6th harmony settings on the whammy. I understand the PF will do this, along with a potential second harmony! This correct? I have heard that the PF has a bit of latency however, and that it doesn't track amazingly well on fast runs...Can anyone corroborate? Al
4. It'd be nice to have both to compare! I'll get a video up soon, though need to do it through proper gear as I don't think my phone'll do it justice!...
5. Ha! Yeah that's right Sounds mean, and it'll do what you're looking for!
6.
Very nice board! Have you ever considered a Boss PS-6 as a smaller alternative to the Whammy? Si
Thanks very much Si! I hadn't considered the PS-6, must admit...I'll check them out! I do love that Whammy, though I've been considering replacing it with a Whammy 5 recently for the polyphonic setting!
7. Here's mine, now complete with COG custom pedal! :-) I'm stopping now, for a while at least!...
8. Tom from COG effects (TGFlatline on here) has just made me a Rat clone that's 100 times better than my old Turbo Rat! Have a word with him, he'll probably be able to help you out.
9. I'll try to get some up this weekend!
10. Mine's on its way! Can't wait to get it Details on Tom's site: http://www.cogeffects.co.uk/signor-gatto.php
11. Ahh, cool! I often wonder where a pedal has been before, whenever I buy a second hand one... I'm surprised there aren't more BGPs over here! I've owned loads of other green muff clones (BYOC, W&C, EQD, Fuzzrocious), and none sound anywhere near as good! It's tight and focussed, whereas the others seemed far too OTT for the sake of it.
12.
Might not be what you're looking for but.. http://www.banzaimus...ed-Pointer.html Also, I think you've got my old ARC BGP...enjoy!
These are great actually, thanks! It may well be your old ARC BGP! I got it off Kev, and you certainly don't see many around over here...
13. A quick question for anyone who knows! If I take a six-plug daisy chain power lead, cut off four of the plugs (so that two remain), then cover the "wound" with electrical tape, will it still work!? Any assistance appreciated! Thanks, Al
14. Diago patch factory. They're great, very low profile.
15. I use the TC Electronic Corona chorus, great sounding and very versatile. Their Vortex Flanger's pretty good too! There was a boss BF-2 Flanger going very cheap on the "For Sale" board very recently though, and you can't go wrong with those!
16.
COG Fuzz (settings pretty heavy)
Ahh, so that's your custom Tarkin from Tom! Saw that on the site and thought it looked great, bet it's brutal!
17. I've decided I'm going to stick Daka-Ware bakelite knobs (like the ones on the Wren & Cuff TFR) on my ARC BGP. The current knobs are too tall, and I keep kicking them and/or changing my settings! Does anyone know a good supplier of these? I can only seem to find "vintage" ones on eBay, and they're all about £10 for one... Al
18.
bakerster135 - just reading your thread, seems like you're having an issue that isn't a million miles away. Any sign of a resolution at your end?
Hey Scotticus! Well, I think my issue was just down to not having had enough time to play around with the B3K at practice room/gig volume. I've since found my way around it a bit! I definitely think it can only really be used for "grit" though. I'm currently using my ARC BGP or a knackered old Turbo Rat in conjunction, to push it over the edge if needs be.
19. You probably need to get a Fuzzrocious Rat Tail or Rat King. Think they'll do the trick!
20. Thanks Ant, yeah I've been in touch with Spencer this evening. Out of interest, what settings do you go for? Al
