1. Hi All! I'm currently stuck in a bit of a rut with the technical stuff that I'm practicing along to, things like Mars Volta, Jamiroquai, Rush etc that I know too well and am not really benefitting from! Wondered if anyone had examples of any great new bands or even songs with interesting, technical technical bass-lines that I might not have heard? Any contributions will be much appreciated! :-) Thanks, Al
2. Can I have the Sparkle Drive please, if it's still going!?
3. Bought Si's Aguilar DB 924 and paid for it yesterday...Received it today! Amazingly quick postage, and his communication's top-notch! It's been a pleasure to do business with you mate :-) Al
4. Traded my Precision Bass for James' Jazz Bass. Fantastic communication and a pleasure to deal with. We met to do the trade, and had a great chat :-) Highly recommended! Al
5. Back from holiday bump! This is still going...
6. Hi! I don't have any scales at home, so it'd take me a while to give you an exact weight I'm afraid... It is very light though, I've previously had a '73 which was about 4 times the weight of this. It's also lighter than the Spector NS2 that I have currently. Not sure whether that makes it good/bad for you, but that's the fact! Will send the exact weight through if I'm able to ascertain it anytime soon. Let me know if you have any more questions.
7. Price drop! £900. I'm up for putting money in to get what I want! Any interest?...
8. Amendments...Now looking to trade for a Pre-EB/early EB Stingray, Sabre OR 60's US RI Jazz Bass! Come on, this is a really fantastic Precision! After going through three, I've decided they're just not the bass for me...
9. Bump! Still intending to add btter pics, but lacking time! This is a fantastic precision though, recently given a full service. Sounds brilliant with the Wizard pickup, and in very good condition! The bare-wood mark visible in the pics above is the only bit of "damage"... Anyone at all interested in trading their Stingray or Sabre, let me know! If Anyone's London-based, you're welcome to pop over to try it out!
10. Bump, with pics! Will add better quality ones tomorrow in daylight...
11. Fender 1979 Precision, all black with rosewood fretboard. Looking to trade for a Pre-EB/early EB Stingray, Sabre OR 60's US RI Jazz Bass! It has a Schaller bridge and I've put a Wizard Trad pickup in, but still have the working original. Know a price is required on here, so I'll say £900 (price drop, as I'm prepared to put in some £ to get what I really want...).
12. As mentioned, I have a 1979 Precision bass, black body and scratchplate with rosewood fretboard. It has a Schaller bridge, but otherwise all original. Will post photos tomorrow, but just wanted to put the feelers out incase anyone was interested in a trade for a Pre-EB/early EB Stingray? Let me know. Cheers, Al
13. Thanks BassBunny. I had already tried Spector, they're on 'summer vacation' till the 20th and I can't open the Aguilar website for some very annoying reason. Really need to sort it for Friday so I'll have to keep trying Aguilar, but if anyone knows in the meantime please let me know! thanks, Alex
14. Hey, wondered if anyone out there can help!? I’ve got quite an old European model Spector NS bass, I believe it’s the NS2CRFM, it’s very similar to the euro4lx but has the Aguilar OBP-1 preamp. I’ve managed to snap the volume pot for the bridge pickup (the top one closest to the strings). The actual shaft of the pot has snapped out, so I need to replace the whole thing. Can anyone tell me what type of pot I’d need to use to replace? (ie value, etc), having looked inside the back cavity I think I can make out 5k on the back of it, but I need to be sure. Any help would be much appreciated. Alex
