  3. Just to update I now have the custom pickup from Aaron and am getting it fitted next week. Looking forward to seeing how this plays out.
  4. It’s 2.75mm at the 12th fret.
  5. Managed to do a quick video to give an idea of acoustic and plugged in tone. Sorry it’s so short, time was limited.
  6. Yeah, it has. I put it up for trade last year.
  7. Reluctantly up for sale is my Fender Mustang Bass in sunburst. It has a few dinks/marks on the body but generally it's in great condition, plays fantastically and is fitted with Labella Mustang Flats. Set up wonderfully by the Guitar Doctor. Comes with a Fender Short Scale bass hard case. I will also include a Fender Short Scale gig bag. £850 (less if you don't want the hard case) Cash on collection much preferred but I do have a box so shipping is an option.
  8. It's 25.5". I've got a busy weekend but will try and do a video if I get a chance. Cheers.
  9. That does look great. I've been speaking to UK pickup winder Aaron Armstrong who's going to put together a 'Johnny Smith' style floating pickup for me.....
  10. Up for sale is this awesome short scale Brandoni bass. It’s an archtop bass built using vintage parts. Fitted with GHS Short Scale 45-95 Flatwounds. String tension is good and it's extremely nice to play. The body does have quite a few lacquer cracks, but nothing through to the wood. £SOLD Cash on collection much preferred but I do have a box so shipping is an option.
  11. Up for sale is this awesome short scale Brandoni bass. It’s an acoustic bass built the same size as a standard classical acoustic guitar. Fitted with Labella Short Scale Black Tapewounds. Plugged in with the tone rolled back it has a very double bass like sound. String tension is good and intonation is spot on. Comes with a hard case. I also have a custom Bobs Fits soundhole plug. £300 or would trade/part exchange for something Precision based.
  12. There is actually quite a bit of space between the top and the strings, so the Lace might be too far away without some kind of riser.....
  13. I would love that, but don’t really want to cut into the top.
  14. Thanks for that. The picture at the top is deceptive, as these basses come with black nylon strings. I’m not planning to use bronze strings so the Lace might be ideal. I’ve also had contact from a pickup maker who might be able to make a floating neck pickup, which would be ace.
  15. Thanks. I've sent them an email so will see what they say...…….. The Lace looks good. Any idea if it works with tapewound or flatwound strings, or is it designed specifically for bronze ones?
  16. After trying one of these in a shop last year and deciding not to buy it because of feedback issues, I've gone and ordered one with the hope of fitting some kind of magnetic pickup. Anyone have any thoughts on what might fit nicely? I can't find a floating bass pickup.
  17. Ideally would be something playable when sat down, so a decent sized body. Tried both of those and found the bodies to small.
  18. Does anyone know of a short scale bass without any cutaways? Ideally something along the lines of a Hofner Club bass but without the lower cutaway.... I really like the look of the new Epiphone De Luxe basses but the pickups are rubbish. I suppose I could get one and try to fit a magnetic pickup somehow...... Thought I'd ask here first in case there's something I've missed whilst looking around.
  19. Any good? https://www.wdmusic.co.uk/pickguards-c62/fender-basses-c111/mustang-bass-japanese-reissue-c294#page1:infscr8761
  20. I want a short scale Jake so badly!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. When I tried one the feedback in the shop was too much and I didn’t get one.
  22. Someone must want to treat themselves this Xmas.
  23. You might need this: 🤗
  24. I'm so tempted to have this back...…. Probably a good job you're the other side of the country.
  25. Price drop
