  1. When I first put Labella Flats on my Japanese Mustang they felt really tight, and the action was high. When I got it set up with a lower action by a tech the Labella's felt much looser and more playable.
  2. I have two of these rare little basses so am looking to sell my backup. It’s an acoustic bass built using an acoustic guitar body and neck. Fitted with Labella Short Scale Gold Tapewounds. Plugged in with the tone rolled back it has a very double bass like sound. String tension is good and intonation is spot on. Comes with a gig bag. £300 delivered. I have a box so could post. A quick video, first played acoustically and then through my amp.
  3. Thanks. I think I've found someone to make me one now.
  4. Does anyone know a place in the UK that makes custom feedback busters? I need to get something made up for my Brandoni.
  5. Bought a pedal from Phil. Easy transaction and highly recommended. Cheers!
  6. Thanks for the advice. Was thinking tinted lacquer might be the way to go.
  7. I've been using a Brandoni acoustic bass with my band recently and am really pleased with it. However, I'd quit like the wood on top to be darker than it currently is. Does anyone know of a simple way to darken the top? I'm guessing some kind of wood stain might be easiest. Thanks.
  8. Bought Tom's Fender amp. Great guy to deal with. Cheers, Kris.
  9. I'll take it please.
  10. Still looking
  11. I use a Reunion Blues RBX semi guitar gig bag for my Mustang bass when I don't want to use the Fender hardcase. As a bonus it also fits my Brandoni acoustic bass and Epiphone guitar.
  12. Pm'd
  13. There's one on eBay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-Squier-Vintage-Modified-Telecaster-Bass-Very-Rare-32-Scale/132743092622?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
  14. Reluctantly up for sale is my Fender Mustang Bass in sunburst. In great condition, plays fantastically and fitted with Labella Mustang Flats. Set up wonderfully by the Guitar Doctor. Comes with Fender Short Scale bass hard case. I will also include a Fender Short Scale gig bag. £850 (less if you don't want the hard case)
  15. It was definitely a classical guitar. This picture shows its size in context.
  16. That is a concern. The guitar should come this week so I’ll see how it is before getting out the screwdriver.
  17. I’ve always found hollow body basses never feel short scale because of the bridge position. If I could find a hollow body that felt like my Mustang that would be great! I am also a guitarist, and when I tried the Brandoni the size and feel was good for me. I love arch tops, so began to lust for a bass one. I’ve tried the Epiphone pictured but the pickup was rubbish and the neck was more like a full scale bass.
  18. The scale length on the converted classical guitar is roughly 26.5 inches, and with the heavy Labellas the intonation is good and the strings feel great when playing. They aren’t super floppy like a Uke bass. I’m hoping the archtop would have a similar feel.
