1. Is this the standard version or the one with the short MM tuner shaft?
2. For anyone who's interested the Fender Urban Gig Bag for Short-Scale Bass fits a medium-scale Squier PB-331 (111cm long) as snug as a bug in a rug
3. Dimensions of a 50s single coil P bass pickup here if that's of any help - http://www.riveramusica.com/archivosAdicionales/Esquema%20de%20dimensiones%20de%20la%20pastilla%20SCPB-2.jpg
4. This may help - http://www.talkbass.com/threads/jazz-bass-with-pickup-selector-switch.633643/
5. So much for my googling skills! Thanks Paul. Hmm, it may just about squeeze in. Medium scale cases/gigbags don't seem to exist so will give it a try. Cheers
6. Anyone out there got one of these and a tape measure? Can't find dimensions anywhere on the web...
7. What height are the strings from the poles? May sound a bit counter intuitive but to get an even magnetic flux with these it's sometimes better for the pickup to be lowered. As a point of reference, I have a '57 P (single coil) with flat poles and get a good string balance with the following setup (measurements in inches): G - 12/64 D - 16/64 A - 16/64 E - 13/64 I know the stacked pickup is taller than the regular single coil which might possibly be part of the problem. Close pickup settings will accentuate the G and E, but set them up with a bit of air and they produce a wonderfully rich piano-like tone. Beautiful things!
8. Thanks but my medium scale P is a bit longer than a Bronco. I think it might just about fit though so hoping that someone can measure and check.
9. I'm wondering I this will fit a medium scale bass (overall length 111cm). If anyone has one of these gigbags would appreciate it if you could measure and let me know. Thanks
10. I'm having difficulty finding a case or gigbag that's the right size for a medium scale (32") Precision. Overall length of bass is 110cm. A regular case obviously works with room to spare but ideally I'd like something that's a snugger fit. Does such a thing as a medium scale case or gigbag even exist?! Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks
11. Just bought a mid 80s Squier MIJ medium scale P from Paul. Top chap to deal with. Quick and smooth transaction. Arrived superbly packed and everything exactly as described. Lovely little bass, many thanks Paul!
12. The Vista series 4 saddle bridge used to be available as a replacement part some years ago but sadly no longer. The Hipshot vintage bridge is a possible alternative and you can get a version with narrower string spacing to suit the Musicmaster. - http://store.hipshotproducts.com/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=209 Aero do a four pole Musicmaster replacement pickup (see about half way down the page) - http://www.aeroinstrument.com/pickups.html
13. If you're after a replacement nut (rather than the hex wrench) then guitarpartsresource list them here - http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/hardware_trussnuts.htm. They say 4mm which I assume means the internal threaded bit rather than the adjuster end. A 5mm hex wrench is an exact fit for my Squier Matt Freeman (which is pretty much exactly the same as a CV).
14. The HB shorty PB has 19 frets and a rounded heel, the J&D mini PB has 20 frets and a square heel

Feedback for Aero71

Just bought a Fralin P pickup from Aero71, pleasant chap to deal with and very smooth transaction, many thanks Marinus!
17.
...is it serial/parallel or did you install more of the L1K wiring options?
Series, parallel and split coil with standard tone pot. I may add full L1K wiring at some point but very happy with it as it is.
18. Speaking of G&L, my revelation of the year was dropping an MFD into a Squier Matt Freeman, a sort of poor man's L1000. It easily holds it's own against my other (much more expensive) basses
19. I'm really sorry to hear that, have been using Picato for the past 10 years or so, fine strings and always friendly and helpful at the factory in Treorchy. A real shame
20.
...though the main factory is closing (which produced all the Picato brand products ...)
Daf, does this mean that Picato strings are ceasing production do you know, or will they continue at the new facility?
21. Funny you should say that ...
22.
Not so much the strings that cause it
Strings don't cause the dead spot but lighter strings can help to alleviate it as they generate less energy and therefore 'excite' the resonant frequency of the neck somewhat less. Along with the truss rod and neck joint, changing strings can definitely play a part in tuning out a dead spot.
23. From the pic in the first post I think relief/camber, not action
