1. The Vista series 4 saddle bridge used to be available as a replacement part some years ago but sadly no longer. The Hipshot vintage bridge is a possible alternative and you can get a version with narrower string spacing to suit the Musicmaster. - http://store.hipshotproducts.com/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=209 Aero do a four pole Musicmaster replacement pickup (see about half way down the page) - http://www.aeroinstrument.com/pickups.html
2. If you're after a replacement nut (rather than the hex wrench) then guitarpartsresource list them here - http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/hardware_trussnuts.htm. They say 4mm which I assume means the internal threaded bit rather than the adjuster end. A 5mm hex wrench is an exact fit for my Squier Matt Freeman (which is pretty much exactly the same as a CV).
3. The HB shorty PB has 19 frets and a rounded heel, the J&D mini PB has 20 frets and a square heel

Feedback for Aero71

Just bought a Fralin P pickup from Aero71, pleasant chap to deal with and very smooth transaction, many thanks Marinus!
6.
...is it serial/parallel or did you install more of the L1K wiring options?
Series, parallel and split coil with standard tone pot. I may add full L1K wiring at some point but very happy with it as it is.
7. Speaking of G&L, my revelation of the year was dropping an MFD into a Squier Matt Freeman, a sort of poor man's L1000. It easily holds it's own against my other (much more expensive) basses
8. I'm really sorry to hear that, have been using Picato for the past 10 years or so, fine strings and always friendly and helpful at the factory in Treorchy. A real shame
9.
...though the main factory is closing (which produced all the Picato brand products ...)
Daf, does this mean that Picato strings are ceasing production do you know, or will they continue at the new facility?
10. Funny you should say that ...
11.
Not so much the strings that cause it
Strings don't cause the dead spot but lighter strings can help to alleviate it as they generate less energy and therefore 'excite' the resonant frequency of the neck somewhat less. Along with the truss rod and neck joint, changing strings can definitely play a part in tuning out a dead spot.
12. From the pic in the first post I think relief/camber, not action
13.
The reason for the question was I thought just over 4mm was a bit excessive.
Neck relief on a DB (fingerboard camber in DB terminology) varies depending on string type, playing style and personal preference but somewhere around 2.5mm would be a pretty typical amount of 'relief'. Your neck doesn't sound warped, it just has quite a lot of camber which might make some notes in the low/mid range harder to stop. I've recently spent a bit of time carefully planing some camber out of my fingerboard and it's now much easier to play. Disclaimer: My DB is a cheap old thing and fair game for a bit of 'home improvement'. DIY camber adjustments obviously not advisable on anything of value!
14. What is the exact weight please? (I've PMd a couple of times)
15. Hmm, try this one (and scroll down to the thread) - http://www.fenderfor...c_number=713534

17.
I thought a maple board would be nice alternative ...
WoT, like seemingly everyone on BC I'm contemplating buying one of these. I'm curious that the maple board makes such a big difference. Is it just the maple board or the whole neck profile on this one that you don't like? I'm flipping between maple and rosewood so any light you can shed on the difference in sound/playability between maple and rw on the Maruszczyk would be helpful. Cheers, Ian
18. Are these the standard wind or overwound version?
19. Detailed dimensions for the Schaller 3D can be found here (click on the 'Technical drawing' tab): - http://guitar-parts.biz/hp135061/Bassbridge-3D-4.htm?ITServ=C24f0418cX151a5f8746fX1d2d

24. Has the smalll 'Squier series' logo (usually further up on the headstock) been removed or wasn't this present on very early JVs?
