Stage Right, so you can look at your fingers and see the rest of the band. -
The bass model design that You hate with passion.

Bongos. They look like an overdone, gaudy, tasteless, ostentatious 80s sports car designed by an LSD-fuelled lunatic in the grip of a psychotic episode, available only in a range of hideous, eye-scorching colours that scream of 'Dante meets Bosch in a crack lounge'. Horrendous looking things. I'd absolutely love one. -
We use (Mic'd up and through FOH) guitar amps on stage so the guitar I'm hearing in my IEMs sounds like it's going through an amp. IEMs do take a bit of getting used to - like someone above said, you hear all your mistakes with crystal clarity which can be an eye opener, and not in a good way. Getting a good mix in your ears is crucial - we use Qu-You (?) so we all do our own mixes. It does feel a bit weird at first, but once you get used to it it's fantastic, particularly if you sing - as much of your vocals as you want without them bothering anyone else. I also gig in a non-IEM pub rock band (vocal PA, wedge monitor and ACG custom lug plugs), it's quicker and less faff to set up but the sound you're given is the sound you get. I'd encourage everyone to try IEMs and stick with them for a bit, get a good mix and keep the volume at a decent level. If you don't/can't/won't use them for any reason, use earplugs! ACG customs are well worth the outlay - there's no amount of money that will cure tinnitus.

I'm after a Double Bass teacher in the West Midlands - Birmingham if possible! I particularly want some lessons on bowing French style. Any recommendations? Cheers

Barefaced 110 cab and MarkBass Nano 300 head with bag, kettle lead, speakon lead and non-slip mat. The bag is a Protection Racket deluxe cajon bag. Very thick padding and 'Propile' fleece on the inside. It's a great little rig, it's lots louder than you think it'll be - I've used it at a few rehearsals and never had the volume past about 2! Sounds fantastic. I bought these in a GAS-addled frenzy but I've realised my current setup is fine, and I could do with the cash. I paid £200 for the MarkBass, £340 for the BF110 and £45 for the cajon bag, so I'm after most of my money back. Includes original box for the MarkBass head (not pictured). I'd rather not split these but I'll probably change my tune if they're still here in a week or so. Not interested in trades - I own more stuff than I need and could do with the money. Collection from Brum B13 - happy to drive a bit to meet up. I work in Worcester so could meet up somewhere round there if that helps. Any questions, please ask.

I love anything that's a hideous colour, but that's too much for me. "Pub toilet" is bang on. I do like block markers though! -
Boss TU-2 all the way. I've got one on every board and one in every bits bag. I find strobe tuners (and the TU-3) a bit *too* accurate. Not mad keen on headstock tuners but the Boss TU-10 is a nice bit of kit.

Bought about a month ago from this very forum but I'm just not using it and I could do with the cash. Boxed, PSU and manual included, velcro on the bottom of the reciever and some dual lock (?) on the transmitter. Perfect working order. £75 posted to the UK, a fiver off if you collect from Brum B13. Any questions please ask.

I bought this (second hand) in January but I'm just not using it - it turns out the local uke group already have a Bass player. Lovely instrument, very portable, B-band pickup, strap and gigbag included. Great condition. Photos are from the original ad because I'm lazy. Pickup from Birmingham, happy to drive a bit to meet up. Any questions please ask.

Jealous! +1 for starting with the manual - it's worth understanding how the character knob works. My favoutite setting (on the non-programmable version) is Drive & character - 9 o'clock Low & High - 2 o'clock Mid - 12 o'clock It's called something like 'Warm tube' or 'Fat Compression' in the manual - lovely old-skool thumpy sound, great for jazz, motown and reggae. It also does roaring Ampeg SVT sounds if you want them. Enjoy!
