  1. Usually just black, but a nice tan or brown might work with this Bass?
  2. Yeah, that's plan B. 😛 They look incredible, but they're way too expensive and over engineered for what I need! Cheers
  3. I bought a Squier 50s P Bass from Ben, and he was great to deal with from start to finish. He even answered my (stupid) questions afterwards. Top man!
  4. I want an A/B pedal to switch between Electric and Upright, with a tuner output (or an extra footswitch) that silences everything. I like this Bright Onion pedal but it's £85 and has an FX loop and a buffer that I don't need. Anything you can reccomend? Apologies (and feel free to move) if this should be in Effects
  5. Can anyone recommend a good, padded strap that has a vintage look to it? I love the Mono Betty (I have one for each Bass), but for some reason the long black ones are now over sixty quid. I just got a Squier 50s P Bass and I want something that looks the part, but also has some padding for my aged shoulder. Thanks in advance!
  6. Boss TU-2 I've had mine since God was a boy and it's never let me down. If you do want a clip on, the Boss TU-10 is good. I'm sure the Korgs and Petersons are nice too! 😀
  7. I like my AKG K92s They were a lot less than £300!
  8. The short video on the front page of the Calton site is worth watching. Suddenly £2k seems not unreasonable!
  9. The Hot Club of Cowtown - Continental Stomp. INCREDIBLE upright Bass playing by Jake Erwin. Before that, it was John Martyn- Solid Air (Danny Thompson on Bass of course) Before that, Elvis Costello Best of (Bruce Thomas?) Pump it up!
  10. Hiscox. There's plenty of stories of them dropping from great heights and bouncing down motorways with no damage to the contents.
  11. I thought it was a pretty transparent attempt at humour... 😀
  12. Where do I start?! I love the way it looks - similar enough to a Preccy/Jazz to be an instant classic, but the funny shaped scratchplate, smiley eq plate, 3+1 tuners on that cute little headstock, and a bridge that would make Isambard Kingdom Brunel blush... you just know it's something special. I wanted one from the minute I saw one. The way it plays... the pickup is in *just* the right place to rest your thumb, and the neck is absolutely perfect... narrow enough to get your fingers round, but wide enough to give it that 'heft' that makes it feel like a seriously solid instrument. And then there's the sound! Punchy enough to poke holes in the walls, never mind cut through a mix, and the three band EQ gives you an incredible range of sounds- cut-glass highs, in-your-face mids, and the Bass control gives you the Biggest of Big Bottom.... TL;DR - I like my StingRay.
