  1. He's also in (and wrote much of the music for) Spaced, which is one of the funniest things ever to grace a television screen. If you haven't seen it, it's all on The Channel 4 on demand (4OD?) thing. Apologies if this has been said, I didn't read the whole thread!
  2. Someone on another thread reckoned the Bass player from the Trampps (?) used Mayonnaise to deaden his flats. It Mayo may not be true...
  3. Some absolute beauties on display there. Couple of nice Basses too. 😀
  4. That's a beautiful thing.. AND it has a Hipshot 😍 Makes me wish I was in the market for a 4 string StingRay / P Bass cross Bargain price - GLWTS!
  5. I've heard great things about HB gear, and for less than £200, it's surely worth a punt. Thanks!
  6. I'm thinking of joining the dark side and getting a 5 string to keep up (down?) with the synths in a noughties club/dance type project. I like my StingRay so I'm looking at the budget MM stuff. Has anyone got any experience of the SUB5 and/or the Ray35? The SUB5 looks like great value at £250-300 ish, and if it's half as good as the £250 Squier I recently had, I'd be a happy boy. Is the low B any good? The Ray35 has rave reviews, a 3 band EQ, looks like a nice piece of kit and (according to some) compares well to the Full Fat USA 'Rays - is it worth the extra few hundred notes? I'd love to hear from anyone who has played both. Recommendations for any other cheap and cheerful 5 strings also welcome. Cheers
  7. Jamie bought some strings off me - a top Basschatter!
  8. Last bump before it disappears into Mrs StingRayBoy's "craft room" never to be seen again.
  9. Thanks for all the input folks. Just a thought - my ABG has bridge pins - will flats cope with the sharp corner without snapping?
  10. Lovely Bass, wish I could justify keeping it! GLWTS
  11. Paul saved some of my old leads from the bin and (hopefully!) gave them a new lease of life. Top man!
  12. A Pedalboards worth of Velcro. I don't think it's "Velcro" brand Velcro - it probably came from ebay. All pieces are 5cm wide. The soft side: One 200cm piece, one 170cm piece and one 20cm piece. The Prickly side: One 120cm piece, ten 10cm (ish) pieces, two 14cm pieces, one 24cm piece. All measurements are more or less approximate (ish). Some of the short prickly side pieces have been used, and have glue on the back and fluff on the front. All yours for the price of postage.
  13. Five jack leads that don't work. I'm sure they could be repaired with a soldering iron and a bit of know how. Yours for the cost of postage, or pick up for free. I don't suppose anyone will want these, but I'm loathe to bin them without asking!
  14. Three Bantam leads. At least, I think that's what they are - if not, please correct me. One has a large plug at each end, one has a small plug at each end, and one has one of each. I've had them for years and never used them, I don't even know if they work. I thought they might be useful for someone? Better than going in the bin. Yours for the cost of postage - if you collect them, you can have them for nothing.
  15. Which flatwounds do you use on your ABG? I like La Bella DTFs on my electrics, just wondering what you're using on your acoustics. It's a Tacoma Thunderchief, mainly played unplugged. All and any answers welcome!
  16. +1 for K&M. They're not cheap, but they are incredibly well designed, built like a tank and (I'm told) they stock spare parts for all their products.
  17. Sold a Bass to Gerry - everything you could want from a BC transaction!
