  1. Set of Ernie Ball Cobalt flats 45-100 with fetching purple silks. Used but loads of life left in them. They're about £40 new I think. EB reckon they feel like flats, but sound like rounds. Cut for a StingRay. Any questions, please ak.
  2. Came on a Bass I bought, no use to me. Cut for a P Bass, not sure of make. Five quid posted, free if you collect.
  3. Vaseline makes sense, but Mayonaisse? Sounds like Hell, man 🤪
  4. Took the plunge and put a set of DTFs on my StingRay. They sound fat, with tons of thump and punch - only played at practice volume so far, but I can't wait to gig them. They EQ controls seem way more sensitive with the DTFs on - espeially the Bass. No bad thing! I'll report back after I've gigged them if anyone's interested.
  5. EB took over MM in 82 I think. There was a 'transition' bridge in 95 when they moved from the 'Flea' bridge to the cut down bridge. Lovely Bass by the way GLWTS!
  6. I'll deliver to Birmingham *today* for a fiver. I think you deserve a new Bass.
  7. Up for sale is my lovely Squier Classic Vibe 50s Precision Bass. In pretty much brand new condition, not a mark on it. I think it was made in 2018 or 19, I'll check when I get home. The receipt (included) shows it was £399 new, and it's in new condition, so £250 seems like a good price. It's a lovely, lovely thing - plays like a dream, sounds fantastic, looks gorgeous. Beautiful sunburst, dark maple neck, gold effect scratchplate. Strung with GHS (I think?) flats, which really suit it. I'll chuck in a set of used but serviceable roundwounds if you want them. Bought from this here Basschat in October - I'm only selling as it's just not being played due to me buying another P Bass that I prefer, and I can't justify owning two. I've replaced the strap button screws with longer ones, the bottom one has been repaired with the toothpick trick - they're both solid as a rock. You are welcome to come and try it out - you won't be disappointed! Includes basic but functional Fender gig bag - it has no shoulder straps I'm afraid. Collection from Bewdley, Worcestershire (near Kidderminster) preferred, or I can drive a bit to meet up. Next day insured postage (Parcelforce) will be £20. It will be packed in a sturdy Fender Bass cardboard box in the gigbag, with tons of bubble wrap. Cash on collection or paypal F&F please. I go to Birmingham fairly regularly, and I'll be in Leeds at the end of February if that helps. I'm probably not interested in trades, but feel free to ask - worst I can do is say no thanks. Any questions, please ask.
  8. Bought some strings - great comms, good item, quick (and free!) postage... top marks!
  9. I absolutely LOVED Rachael and Vilray, thought they were fantastic. Didn't mind the rest of it - it's mainstream MOR stuff for all the family, It's always going to be pretty mild and inoffensive. And as mild and inoffensive stuff goes... I thought it was OK
  10. Me stupid think more watt mean more loud 🤪 Thanks for all the replies, folks!
  11. Bought some ABG strings - he offered a discount (on an already good price), communicated perfectly and posted ASAP. 11/10
  12. Apologies if this is a stupid question or it's been asked before, or (most likely) both. My amp gives 500W @ 4 ohms and 300W @ 8 ohms. I have one 8 ohm speaker. Is there a cheap and simple way to get the full 500W of power into my one 8 ohm speaker? Is there such a thing as a 'fake' 8 ohm speaker that I can plug into the other speaker output? I don't want to buy another cab, or solder anything. Cheers
  13. Seller is a gentleman and a scholar, and the amp's nice too. You should definitely buy this. I would, but I've already got one.
  14. I love the La Bellas on my 70s reissue P Bass, tons of old skool thump especially with the tone rolled off. Great for Rock 'n' Roll, Motown/Disco, Ska and Jazz which is what I'm playing at the mo. My StingRay is currently wearing EB Slinky Cobalt Flats, which are pretty nice, just wondering if anyone is using Deep Talkin' flats on their 'Ray and if they suit? All opinions welcome!
  15. I really like the Markbass CMD 101 micro 60 - set flat it sounds superb with DB. It was a bit underpowered for bigger gigs, so I upgraded to the Markbass Minimark 802 - sounds great and has a decent amount of volume. For really big gigs, I use the MB CMD 121. I use a Fishman Platinum Pro (the old one) to get round the impedance thing - can't rate it highly enough!
