  1. I'd probably want a monitor if I was singing. IEMs might be worth looking into - I got some KZ ZS10 pros and a Behringer Powerplay P2 for much cheapness and they do the job. Also look at the Behringer Eurolive B205D (Mackie, Subzero, Thomann and a few other makes do a similar thing) - tiny speaker with lots of poke.
  2. I really like it - beautifully simple. I like MusicMans (MusicMen?) and I like Jazz Basses, so ... it's a yes from me. I don't know enough about Joe Dart to dislike him, but he's a better Bass player than me, so I'll leave him to it 🙂
  3. Great Video, nice one. I kinda want a P Bass now....
  4. Same age as me and in much better nick. GLWTS
  5. Best gigbag you can get - Mine's still going strong after years of heavy use. GLWTS
  6. That is STUNNING. That neck! Sorely tempted, and I've already got one. Please, someone buy it before I do something expensive!
  7. Excellent choice! Lovely rig, that. Hope your neighbours are nice 😀
  8. No Fat on a Turkey - 6th August 1991 The day I first picked up a Bass!
  9. I don't think any of us have a problem with them using the name to make more money for such a good cause, surely? If it also presents an opportunity for me to complain about something, so much the better! 😁
  10. He didn't even turn up to his own memorial concert! 😃
  11. And let's not get into the travesty of Brian and Roger calling themselves Queen. It's not Queen without John Deacon, never mind Freddie!
  12. How about Macca, Ringo, Daltrey and Townshend all get together and call themselves The Whotles?
  13. Amazing stuff, nice one. My back hurts just looking at it!
  14. I like my Markbass CMD121 with a NY121 added on for bigger gigs. The CMD121 will fill most pubs, and the pair of them together can be heard three doors down. If I'm going through a PA, I still like the feel of an amp behind me. I can carry one in each hand no problem, and I'm not a muscle man by any means!
  15. Both lovely, but I'm a StingRayBoy, so.... I can think of a few songs I'd like to play that P Bass on, though!
  16. No, they're up a bit, where the handle goes across. The straps are adjustable and fairly well padded, comfort (or lack of) has never been an issue for me.
  17. I like my Protec Contego. I've done many miles of walking and cycling with it on my back and it's comfy - it's also well designed and well made with plenty of protection. £118 from Thomann https://www.thomann.de/gb/protec_contego_bass_case_ctg_233.htm
  18. Markbass 101 is a cool practice amp. Not tube or vintage, but sounds good at low volume, DI out for recording, aux in and headphone out for late night playing... I like mine. A decent pair of headphones makes a difference too. AKG K92s work for me.
  19. Congratulations, and welcome to the family!
  20. What condenser mic would you recommend for home recording? I'd be using it for vocals, acoustic guitar, Double Bass and Sousaphone, so a decent all-rounder would be good. Anything under £100 worth having? Worth shelling out for the next step up? All and any advice appreciated!
  21. The Protec Contego is a great gigbag - had mine for years and it's still going strong. Protection Racket stuff is excellent. As Fretmeister said above, if it was my Bass in the hold, it would be in a Hiscox.
  22. I like my Markbass 101. Sounds good at neighbour friendly volume, DI out for home recording or onstage use, sounds good with Double Bass, speaker out if you need it, headphone out, aux in for jamming along... hard to fault for a home amp. I paid £250 second hand, so within budget.
