2.
I have been thinking about the Geddy Lee Jazz, seems to be a damn good bass for your money, and has been getting rave reviews.
They are absolutely incredible. One of very few basses I know I would never sell. It's brilliant!
3. Heya, Just a quick question, I'm buying a Matamp 410 (8ohm) with the intent of getting another soon and possibly an 810 further down the line (depending if this band require it ) . My amp can go down to 2 ohm so would this work? One out -> 4ohm 810 One out -> 8ohm 410 paralleled out -> another 8ohm 410? From what I gather the overall load here is 2ohms right? So if I use both the 2ohm outputs would this work? Ta Ash
4.
I think the Matamp cabs are a given, they seem to be really good value and sound awesome - for my likings - going by internet words. Would i be realistically be able to gig the above amps (Mesa 400+, GT200, Hiwatt 400) without a back-up? I've been getting told by some folk that really i should only put 100% faith in SS for lengthy sets and touring.
I've heard that too, but I've come to the conclusion as long as you keep some spare tubes with ya and don't chuck your head around then things should be fine. Enough people tour with all valve equipment to back that up

Incredible bass, got to play one of the earlier one's in Boston. Lovely stuff! Sounds great too!
6. Mesa 400+ + Matamp cabs = god. Simple as
7. Almost 5 hours without a response... nah got nothing against them, they look nice
8. Would also look hot in olympic white...
9. mmm that's puuurdy congrats!
10. Earlier in the day - load car, check cables, basses etc. Couple of hours before loading in we usually run through the set in our practice space if possible Food Load in Soundcheck Drinks Play Drinks! (if not driving, of course ) Also in terms of me I always play the bassline to "I Wish" by Stevie Wonder as a warm up, also do a bit of tapping to get my aim correct . Oh yes and tuning a million times
11. Am I the only one who immediately thought about the little Sony gadget and got confused after reading the thread title?
12. Hello there, What is beading/stringing on a cab? I'm just trying to confirm what I think it is - taking an Ampeg cab as an example is it the white kind of lining around the edge of the nylon grill? Sorry for such a stupid question but I'm trying to figure out options for my Matamp cab at the mo! Thanks for any help
13. I'm interested in the head. What would your price be if you're willing to split?
14. Never request it, but we usually get hot food and water tbh I'd be happy with some wotsits and a ploughmans' but there we go
15. Ah boston is lovely I'll be honest I only went to the Guitar Center over there, and while they usually have a bad reputation this one was really good. Very helpful staff and alot of high end equipment. They also did a great deal on my Geddy for me (£400 new with a flightcase!) . I believe there was another store around but I didn't get to go to it, what I usually do is I'll check the yellow pages equivalent when I get there . Also another perk about the GC is it's well easy to get to by public transport. That said practically everything is easily accessible by public transport but there we go. Have a wonderful time
16. Yeah, they're both American luckily. And no I had never got on with ampeg cabs either before this. Is this maybe just down to the amp? Bah, I've just found a matamp place in london so I might give em a call and see if I can go down with my Mesa
17. I guess, thought I'd found it with this but unfortunately it isn't
18. Hey there, I recently picked up Tayste_2000's Mesa 400+ and I freaking loved it through his Matamp cabs. They just sounded huge and lovely, and I was set on ordering some when I got back. However, I just gigged the head at a festival through my ampegs, and it sounded amazing too. Also (this is the first time since I sold my Mesa BB750) I got compliments from non bassists about my tone Now, the question is do I move on my Ampegs for the Matamps or should I stick by them, as if it ain't broke, don't fix it?
19. ^haha^
20. Just gonna dive in here, as a general rule of thumb I've found Tokais to be much better than Epis. That said I've only ever been able to do a proper side by side with Les Pauls.
21. Cheers man, calling them today!
22. ... Methinks a trip up to the factory is needed!
23. Good lord. You could kill someone with that!
24.
Hey Ash - glad that worked out for you. Enjoy the 400+
And you too man, I was just about to drop you a PM congratulating you on the sale Also on the Matamp online enquiry thing there is no bass cab option? Do I just put that in the comments bit?
25. I am sorely tempted, after playing through yours I definitely want to go with Matamp, but still undecided about colour!
