3.
Are you willing to post this up to Scotland or do yu want collection?
Heya, should probably edit the original post! For safety's sake I usually like to do a meeting but I am willing to post Thanks!
4.
Pics please. (Ok, I know, ...tomorrow) (Just out of interest, why was it serviced if it's hardly used?)
I'm just uploading photos now As for why it was serviced, being a discontinued model the shop I bought it from didn't get it in new, so they gave it a service and once over as a matter of course before selling it on Also all PMs replied to, thanks for the interest guys
5. want want want...
6. SOLD Thanks for all the interest guys xxx
7. And thrice: ???
8. Used to own a BB750...christ I wish I hadn't let that go. Buckets of tone but I just couldn't be arsed to carry all the transformers around to gigs and stuff (it was an american model). Also due to the size of transformer needed it kept fusing everywhere we played. That said though, the thing survived a reasonably long stint with As I Lay Dying (American metal band) , a 3-5 week transit to the UK and lots of gigs with me, so I had no problems with it. Built like a tank it was. Gorgeous piece of kit.
9. Thanks man I'm liking the sound of Sandbergs, any interesting amp brands anywhere? Like SWR, Ampeg, Eden, Mesa etc?
10. Heya! I'm starting a job in Birmingham on Wednesday, so I'll be commuting from Oxford each day . I thought I could make the most of things by maybe dropping into a decent music store at some point. So! Anything around? Ta Ash
11. Quiiiiick question - is that an intel processor?
12. Hmm...probably a 15 or 10 watt Carlsboro sh!tathon of an amp. Has a sweet distortion tone though And it was a tiny venue in all fairness though like you I couldn't hear anything either... EDIT - didn't block a swear word
13.
Well the Hartke amps aren't bad at all. And a cab like the VX410 probably sounds as good as many other cabs when its running within its limits - however because it uses cheap drivers its limits will be low. And if the acoustics are in your favour and maybe you prefer the lower colouration of the Hartke's preamp then it's an easy win for the cheap rig. What is your Ampeg/Mesa rig? Alex
Very fair point, currently I'm running an SVP preamp into a Mesa Strategy 400 into an SVT15E and 410HE . Might also try the head through my cabs too for giggles
14. Is this the same guys who did that song "Honesty"? The british lot who got on Radio 1? I liked that, and while I'm not averse to the kind of music in the video this is a step in an odd direction... I'm confused EDIT - not confused anymore! Thinking of Attack! Attack! as opposed to Attack Attack! Can't wait for that lawsuit. Also they must have thighs like granite...
15. That's what I'm hoping for, taking the Ampeg next time so we'll see!
16. What a legend and what a legacy! As has been said before, making basses for the big man upstairs now
17. After spending so so so much of saved money on high tier rig after high tier rig, I go for my first practice with a band I auditioned for, plug my MTD into their Hartke HA300 + Hartke VX410, and I've never heard it sound so good. It was just...HUGE! Beastly low end with bags of definition and presence. I then tried my Geddy through it and it sounded just as good. Bah. I'm hoping this is just a similar phenomenon to shop syndrome (sounds good in the shop, sh*te everywhere else), otherwise I'm loading up the Ampeg and doing a like for like test. What's scaring me is all the EQs etc are set similarly on both, and I can pick these up for around £300. Has this happened to anyone else?
18. Hellooo, So! Very quick Q, what are the Ampeg Classic series cones made out of? Couldn't get an answer from google. Thanks! Ash
19. Fair point!
20. Any pics of the 810? Ta x
21. Lol that was quick, any problems I can help you out with?
22.
Basic Stingrays were $1500+, Geddy Lees, $1300, MIA Ps, $1000 all plus 9% sales
!!! I picked up my Geddy for about $700-$800 incl. a flightcase from the Boston Guitar Center, how the hell could they justify that increase?! And it wasn't like the bass had been sitting around in store for ages, it had got in two days previously. Jeez.
23. Damn I'd love that Hartke as a back up. Hands down one of my favourite amp brands, every one I've played through has sounded incredible and for the kind of price they go for you really can't get a better amp or cab. I am so so so so so so so so tempted by this. Aaaaaa
24. I dunno, I'm kinda liking it! I like the iceman homage there with the lower horn, and i love a reversed headstock!
