1.
Hi all finally. Decided on a rumble 350. Tried it out in Dawson Liverpool liked the scoop. Effect. Was. Between. TC Electronic. Combo. Saving up now
Are you getting the 210 combo? I've had one for 2 years now. Gigged it, been to loads of rehearsals with it. I keep on thinking I need something different, then I plug it in and it just does its stuff. It's got a good range, some nice features like the semi parametric mid eq, headphone socket, DI out, aux in. Being the size it is, it's usable as a practice amp at home. There you see, just talked myself out of getting a new rig
2.
I'm not really a Fender fan but this bitsa bass is stunning. http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry1213950
That's really rather stunning. My CS would be almost identical. But then you could get it built by someone other than Fender for cheaper.
3.
open e for half an hour, 4 to the bar 15 bpm, then A, then D, then G. Repeat until somebody throws you out.....
That'll explain the sign in most Devon music shops that has your picture on it with "DO NOT LET THIS MAN IN!" written underneath then.
4. Although my wife doesn't play bass at all, she has always picked up whatever basses I own and tried them out for size so to speak. Out to the 4 I've owned since being together she... point blanked refused to even look at the Hohner B2A as she said it was just daft. (I did own this bass some time ago and she could be petulant and childish back then ) found the Rockbass Corvette both heavy and uncomfortable. Although the bass has a small body, the way it sits just seems to make the neck further away. She finds the the Ibanez SR the best, and if she were to ever buy a bass for herself this would be the one. It's light, comfortable and sits well on the strap. Surprisingly it was only the chunkier neck that was her only quibble with regards the Precision bass I own. Otherwise it was quite nice she said, comfy etc. Considering my wife doesn't like the look of P basses this was quite some step to actually admitting to liking the bass. Apart from me not minding the chunkier neck of the P, my wife's opinion pretty much mirrored mine. The only one I've found uncomfortable and heavy was the Corvette. Great bass, just found it wasn't for me, maybe because I'm a skinny little git
5.
Are we allowed to use the 'R-word' on Basschat..?
It would seem so as it's not fallen foul of the filth filter.
6. My actual playing would probably improve if I sat down and practice all the really useful stuff I've read on here or via the links posted on here. Gear, I know loads more from this forum. I'm probably more confident, but there are other reasons for that as well. I've stopped gauging myself against others, I can play what I play and the only way to play what I can't is to practice (which with limited time can be difficult). Mostly for me I think it's been more my awareness of so much more music. I've now got a reputation amongst friends as buying some really obscure music. And my appreciation of different genres is broader now, which has had a big influence on my playing and what I want to play. That's the biggie for me. It's not that I want to be this player or that player, but I listen to things now and I think, how do you play that? and how could I use that? Oh sh*t there's loads of stuff. Wait...no...I was brilliant before basschat EDIT: Forgot to mention the people. Although I've never met some of them in person, I regard them as some of my best mates.
7. I do wish they'd stop sifting through the spare parts cupboard. It makes you wonder who is coming up with these designs. Fender should trawl the bass forums and look at the bitsa projects, they out do these silly designs.
8. I've just put a set of Fender 9050 Flats on my P bass. Sounds great.
9. On my Ibanez SR I use D'Addario EXL170's On my Squier P, it's currently got some Roto's on it. They're fine, but I shall be putting some flatwounds on soon, not sure which ones yet.
10.
Always a compromise between playability and rock 'n' roll. Hence I wear mine like this ..
Must say, being able playing your bass that low somewhat dispels any claims that you've got a huge.....
11. PITA to explain. The top curve of the bass follows the bottom of my rib cage basically. EDIT: I don't own that bass anymore but same applies for the ones I do.
12. I had a 2007/8 Rockbass Corvette (active) for a few months. A lot of bass for the money, I just found the neck too clubby for me to play. Otherwise fantastic build quality and mine had a stupid amount of sustain.
13. I wouldn't know why you're Rumble cab farts out at low volume, however, the 1000w is a peak rating. Continuous they're more like 500w. But still that might not explain the problem you're having at low volume.
14. It's very tempting...but I only weigh about a 1/2stone more than the cab
15. Sold Dan some Seymour Duncan pickups. Quick and straight forward, pleasure doing business with him.

Feedback for Mace

Sold my active monitor to Ieuan (Mace). Seamless transaction. Great to meet and do a deal with Ieuan, he's a really nice bloke. If the weather hadn't had been so naff we'd probably stayed around longer for a chat
17. This is an active monitor, only used a handful of times and is now surplus to requirement. Works really well and the feedback filter is very handy. I've got the original box, with packing, the user manual and the kettle lead it came with. Here's the spec from the Behringer website http://www.behringer...cts/F1220A.aspx This will have to be collection only I think as it weighs 18kg (I'm in North Devon, willing to meet at reasonable distance). Asking £50.
18.
had a 318i - could get two hartke cabs on the back seat (410 and 115) and guitars across the rear footwell with all the boot still free for other band gear if need be
That's useful to know. I've been thinking of moving our Citroen on and getting a 3series but was concerned I wouldn't be able to get a 410 on the back seats.
19. I've got a Citroen C4 coupe, 3 door. I can fit all my gear in it, but it's a bit of a PITA. The lip of the boot is quite high so getting my combo in and out is a struggle sometimes and being 3 door... The Focus we had was ok. For transporting gear though the Nissan Almera Tino we had was the best, I could fit everything in the boot, it just used so much petrol OPEC used to convine to decide on output after we'd filled up. :/
20. Not sure this counts, but I got a set of US Army dog tags with one tag with my name on, the other has bass player.
21. Got a keyring with what looks like a pbass deluxe on it, and and pick. Otherwise, no.
22.
I think I have a toolbox fetish as I love going into B&Q and admiring them.
This isn't the forum for admitting to that
