1. I've got mine in a holdall, basically a large bag. What do you keep your cables and other crap in, all those packs of strings, tools, but mainly cables. Why have I got so many bloody cables anyway?
 2.
Moloko - Fun For Me Dr. Dre - Nuthin But A G Thang Justice - D.A.N.C.E. Madness - House Of Fun Two simple ones, two silly ones.
You forgot The Breeders - Cannonball.
 3. In: Squier Precision (1990's Korean) GK Backline 600 head Westfield Strat copy (obviously not bass related at all ) Out: Rockbass Corvette (although it might have been last year I can't quite remember)
 4.
Out of his studio albums 'The Space in Between' is my favourite. 'Mystery to Me' is cool, and 'It Only Happens Once' is more electronic/experimental. For live albums I'd get 'Live at the 55 Bar',which was his only live album released on CD.
Thank you Doddy, I'll download Mystery to Me and give it a listen. Cheers
 5. For the Janek aficionados. If I were to download just one, which should it be? I've never really listened to any of his material, and call me old fashioned, but to download everything for nowt just doesn't sit well with me. I'd like to get a flavour before I dip my toe further. I can use more mixed metaphors later

 7. I've posted pics of this bass on this thread before, but hopefully these'll look better
 8. Bare Knuckle 500k pots and Switchcraft input jack. Only had this made up recently but replaced it with a kit made by KiOgon. Good quality pots. £10 inc p&p
 9. A set of Seymour Duncan SPB-1 Vintage Pickups. Never used and still boxed with fitting instructions. £40 inc p&p.
 10.
been away for a bit, just wanted to pop in and say you're all sh&te and none of you can play half as good as me. As you were.... (specially gaf, he doesn't even do solos...)
Just to point out, Dave only sounds good because he mimes to a backing track I'm f***ing awesome, Mr Houtermans told me so and he's a wicked bass player, so there
 11. Not actually for a bass, but... The neck on the cheap strat copy I've bought is completely untreated, just bare wood effectively. How difficult is it to lacquer a neck? My Squier pbass is lacquered, I assume, and I quite like that both playing and in terms of how it looks (gives it a real vintage look). Also as this strat is sunburst with a black scratchplate I thought maybe a lacquered neck with maybe a 70's style fender decal would make it look a bit more cool Thanks for any advice.
 12. I was watching a gig on thursday (organised and hosted by Tony Butler of Big Country fame, sorry I just had to ). I was stood at the bar with a very good local bass player and he started playing air bass. I pointed out he'd obviously bent his air bass as he was plucking the side of his hip but his fretting hand was in the traditional position
 13. I quite like the looks of the Fender Mustang. It'll only be for home practice, I've no intention of joining a band as a guitarist. I just want to be able to learn and noodle at home, and maybe come up with ideas for the bands I'm in (once I've learnt to play ). Thank you everyone.
 14.
There's no shame in that - I had to google to find out about this McCartney bloke.
He was the bloke who was held hostage in the middle east with Terry Waite wasn't he? That's why I thought it so odd.
 15.
PMSL. It is so good to have you posting regularly again!
He's eating more fibre in his diet. Oh, sorry wrong end of the stick.
 16.
What do you mean?!?! McCartney is left-handed; what else do you want?
I'll concede I haven't looked into this enough
 17.
Probably an opportunity for the remaining members of Nirvana to write a song with and play live with one of their heroes.
Put that way, I'm all for it then. Best of to them, sincerely.
 18. http://www.guardian....-cobain-nirvana And then actually if you really read it, he's not actually replacing Cobain, there just doing a slot together. Well that's how I read it anyway. It's not really a very good fit tbh. Not in a, " that Macca is a ......" you usually get online, but there are probably more suitable artists.
 19. Ravi Shankar has died. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-20690632
 20.
Ive not read the thread so this may have already been said but .. Andy bell later played bass with them and he is a fantastic guitar player, YouTube some live stuff from the album in question with him playing bass and I'd bet you'll hear some lovely extras, I could be wrong though, sometimes basic playing is what is needed.
He's was quite good in Erasure.
 21.
'Post- Jazz' is one of those meaningless terms
I thought it meant you just sat on the fence and couldn't really decide what you were playing. I'll get my coat.
 22.
If anyone wants to borrow mine, they're in a bin liner under a hedge somewhere in Kent.
There's a joke in there about diligently trimming back a bush, but that would be far too smutty.
 23.
Is it a new service offered by Royal Mail?
'Service' is not in their vocabulary anymore
 24. A band I'd rather not listen to. Nothing inspiring about the songs so no surprise the bass lines are uninteresting. Never went for all that Britpop or Cool Britannia thing.
