2. Our warbler at our last gig.

 5.
Come on every one knows thats 2nd rate and you need this.
Hmmm, I had one of them, always letting me down, could never count on it.
 6. I don't buy a lot of gear and I don't practice enough My gear isn't expensive, I've bought what I felt was the best for what I do. Others would say I'd have been better off buying x instead of y, but it does what I ask of it, maybe not perfect but it'll do. I genuinely don't actually like buying expensive gear, partly because I don't regard myself as a good enough player, partly because I don't really have the money and as such I'd feel rather guilty and self indulgent - especially as I have 3 young kids. I feel quite fortunate enough to have what I've got and although I don't practice enough I do enjoy playing and being in a band.
 7.
I dare say I could pick out a Gaga song in the first few bars, and wouldn't be able to tell Dusty Springfield or Aretha Franklin apart if I heard the two alongside each other.
Really?! I heard her new one on the radio the other day and thought it was Shania Twain. Gaga is a gimmick, a marketing vehicle, a 'produced sound', here today gone tomorrow. I find it astonishing you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between Springfield and Franklin, their voices are their trademarks and what made them the respected artists they are.
 8. Well done mate. All the best. And like Paul said, don't take sh1t from anyone
 9.
It's places like this that make me really regret living in Devon/Cornwall! I will have to attempt a visit...
I can wholeheartedly agree with you there.
 10. I wouldn't. Too many horror stories on here about other players borrowing gear and wrecking it.
 11. I'd go for another 15. If you like the sound
 12. An end of year awards/charity ball, in a marquee, last night at a local private school. Had to make a bit of an effort with appearance, lots of DJ's and posh frocks. So opted for my oldest most ill fitting suit, black shirt and a pair of DM's that I've been wearing lately whilst building a new garden wall, they scrubbed up alright. It went really well, a few fluffs, but dance floor was busy and 3 encore songs, what more can you ask?
 13. B on the A string, lush.
 14. Isn't this the guy Nige has...an aversion to? Perhaps someone should distract him with a Scott Thunes thread
 15.
I see this all the time in our shop. Confidence = loud, proud, and WRONG.
But I've never been to your shop
 16. Welcome to basschat
 17. When I auditioned for my band I think I ended up getting the gig by sheer fluke to be honest, so as such haven't really got any advice. But, best of luck and all...

 23.
More structure advice from me! Write down exactly how the song goes because so many times you'll be rehearsing a song and then you'll all forget what happens after the second chorus for example. Either have a CD player handy or well written notes! "No, hang on, innit the solo now?" "I think it was the verse riff for a bit, then the middle 8" "No, we play the chorus twice, but with a ring out at the end" ALL "and THEN the solo!" and so on and so forth Truckstop
THIS! Make sure everyone is learning the same version of the song. Nothing boils my piss more than turning up to a rehearsal to find a certain MEMBER of the quartet has decided to learn what can only be regarded as a unique version "I found on You Tube". Because of course some band members will spend literally thousands on unnecessary gear but won't part with 99p to download a single to learn. Sorry I seem to have ranted a little. Brake a leg, have fun, don't take it too seriously.
 24.
Haha man sounds pissed, to be fair being the best bass player in the WR is like being voted the prettiest person in the burns ward.
verging on being put in the quotes thread.
 25.
the Benny Hill theme was a nice touch
I insisted on including it, it's got a nice basslline
