No... Much more than that
Very well said

I was 100% pick when I started. But after taking a 15 year break and coming back I tend to be more fingers (and thumbs, but not in a good way ) I'm completely useless in finding a decent muting technique with a pick for open strings, sometimes. I tend to use a pick now for fast stuff as my fingers aren't supple enough.

On the whole, out of 10 if you feel the need for a numerical quantification, how difficult, or conversely, easy would you say Muse basslines are ? I was just wandering, that's all

As far as Behringer are concerned I've never seen anyone told, on basschat, they were making a wise purchasing choice if they were to buy one.

It's looking a very neat and pro build

Thanks. I've got a Hercules wall hanging bracket which is very good, so I'll look into their stands and maybe the Ultimate. Thanks again

I've just bought the Fender Rumble 350, I've yet to use it in anger but if it's not loud enough then something's wrong somewhere . It's a 2x10, not particularly light, just a straight forward sort of thing that makes a nice sound. EDIT: sorry forget, they're now about £400. They've not been around long really so unfortunately not many 2nd hand ones.

After Thursday night, trying out for a band in a garage I think I definitely need a stand. I had to leave my bass propped against my amp stood on a concrete floor. which I didn't like one bit. Any recommendations, preferably I need it to fold down flattish. I don't particularly want to spend a fortune on one. Some of the stands I've looked at say they are not suitable for nitro finishes. I haven't a clue how mine is finished, it's an Ibanez sr300, I don't think it's nitro as I'm assuming such a finish would make an instrument a little more expensive. But I'm just guessing. Thanks
Can't be OCD because you only just noticed. Simply un-notice and save yourself some cash and hassle and resale value
Very good point. Personally I'd go for something cheap to go with your set up that had green and yellow lights and hence have a multi coloured array. I like lots of colour me.
Yep, these were EVERYWHERE in the late 80s. And not very good if memory serves me correctly.
I seem to remember them being in most music shops. I always thought they looked alright but never even thought of buying one.

I'd go for it myself, but it's the bit about attending parties and functions that puts me off. Ever since the vasectomy it's like my get and go got up and left. And then there's the fact it's going to take up an awful lot of time, I struggle to keep the lawn mown and the car washed as it is. Oh and then I do like to make sure the kids are tucked up in bed before I go out of an evening, that could cause a few problems. No, I think I'll leave this one. Because after all I'm too old and more importantly I'm crap All the best with your search gentlemen.

I had a rummage around in the box my zoom came in and there's a quick start up guide to how to use Cubase, and it's much as Cheddatom outlines. And there's also the help section of the software itself/ Personally I'm too lazy to read instructions

Thank goodness for punk.
I know what you mean. They do look like something like the Beckhams or even Michael Jackson, bless him, would have picked up on a shopping trip. Sort of Fabergé egg vibe...
I think you've hit it on the head there. Each to their own though, just not for me.

For me, just no. All that gold and glossy finishing, I'd always feel that if a Premiership footballer were to take up the bass this would be what he'd choose. *shudder*

I think I'd need all of them in all available colours.
Over Christmas I tried brushing up on some technique and realised that I'd never really go to grips with playing ghost notes. After 2 practice sessions I still cant play them , it just feels so unnatural to not fully fret the note. Does anyone else struggle with these and are there any tips ?
You are not alone, I'm rubbish at ghost notes as well. I shall be reading any advice with extreme interest
Wow, those drummers must be into him in a big way!

Thanks Marvin...didn't realise it was you.
Didn't you? Blimely, I must have been away longer than I thought
I always stress to the staff that emails need to be dealt with quickly. It doesn't always happen, especially if we're really busy or short-staffed, but I know it would piss me off, too.
And that's why you're a thoroughly decent chap. Treat others etc etc. Is the money in the post?
If it's someone round here (Pete Academy, maybe?) then the shop is excellent wih customer service and sells great stuff. An Ashdown MK500 combo for £500? Excellent!
That's the fella. Thoroughly decent chap.
I had something similar with "trim phones" which stemmed from a job I had when if it rang around 10.00 pm it was the night shift ringing to complain about something to me. It took me some time to hear a trim phone ring and not have my heart in my mouth!
Part of my job was to find cover for people who went sick, my phone would only ring if someone was ringing in sick. Finding cover was a major headache.

All the best with this one mate. Anyone in the London area who doesn't attend at what is a stupendously low price for a ticket wants their bumps read.
Always a good excuse to round up / add a bit more in the change
They've been adding a bit more than the increase in VAT. The stuff I was looking at would have increased maybe no more than £5 to £15, but has increased £50+. I know that January generally brings an increase in prices across the board (I got hit one year with building materials for an extension I was building) but, just but Perhaps there will be some heavy discounting in the coming months? Or is that me being cynical?
