2.
Max is more of a guitar player i think, here's his band's myspace to show he's alive and well: http://www.myspace.com/ukmarch Entertaining guy i thought, he actually logged in today so he does have a look every now and again Has anyone heard from Phil_the_bassist yet? He disappeared quite suddenly and hasn't been back since late February Same with Lysdexia
Strange that one, after I originally posted that I hadn't seen him on here, I was looking in the for sale forum and there was max, selling a Fender Bassman amp. And where is Phil_the_bassist? Is a little odd.
  3.
Although I really can't stand Trad Jazz.....
That made me chuckle somewhat. Also your 'Tablature Disapproval Specialist'
  4.
You're kidding me, right? White Stripes, Florence & The Machine, Erykah Badu, Radiohead, Kate Bush, Jonatha Brooke, Prince, Jeff Buckley, B-52s, Pulp, Mary J Blige, Blur, David Bowie, Eminem ..
You forgot Ellie

    Hello

    A hearty welcome to basschat
  7. That's brilliant. Are you going to be taking orders?
  8.
Just say a word, and I'll get my coat, eh.. Faith
"a word". Have you got your coat yet? (just joking) There are literally loads of talented musicians doing 'gigs' you simply wouldn't expect them to do. Danny Thompson famously played on Cliff Richard's Euro Song Contest entry. When ask why, he always answers he had a young family and had to put food on the table. Simple as that I suppose. As you will have noticed from Bilbo's and Doddy's posts. Actually Bilbo recently listed several really well known (well within Jazz) players that are only able to pursue their art basically part-time. I seem to remember him mentioning one DB player who didn't play for 30 years because his bass was broken and he couldn't afford a new one. It wasn't until someone lent him one he started playing again.
  9. Who's Next was indeed a fantastic album. Unfortunately I don't have Sky.
  10.
I reckon we must have at least seen each other across the haze of smoke.
Haze of smoke? I can't imagine what you mean by that. Oh, unless of course you mean when they used to open the fire exit doors at the Anchor and all the 'steam' billowed out, always looked like it was on fire. Enjoy the forum, I'm officially an addict.
  11.
Another one from way back when.
Last seen 3rd Feb. I know he wasn't everyone's cup of tea but I quite liked him. Perhaps we'll see him again.
  12. Haven't seen maxrossel for a while.
  13.
Ah, Torrington, good times, I used to play out the back of the Newmarket back in the 90s, many punk bands, plus the constant supply of sweet thangs gigs. I guess you know Big Al then?
Now your talking some good times, I think we all used to live in the back of the Newmarket. Sweet Thangs gigs were brilliant and Al is probably an institution. I occasionally see Chris, the guy who used to play bass for the Sweet Thangs. I'm assuming you used to go to The Anchor in Westward Ho! as well. Saw some good bands there. I've probably met you in passing. Good times indeed.

    Hello

    welcome to basschat
  15. You are busy. I've heard of Space Invaders, I'll keep my eye out for your gigs. I'm in Torrington, no bands though. Cheers
  16. Welcome. Devon you say. I'd guess North Devon. What bands are you in may be able to catch you playing some time.
  17. I was only thinking the same myself the other day. You don't see soopercip around much these days. Probably busy with his twins daughters
  18. Good welcome to basschat
  19.
Im selling my beloved 1997 Bubinga corvette soon: should be in your price bracket, give us a PM if she likes it.
You must at least consider buying this. If only to stop me pestering the Mrs, thus resulting in divorce on grounds of mental cruelty and I simply can't afford that. That is seriously nice.
  20.
I'd give him 3 reasons: 1. It's my stuff if you think you're printing anything on it you can pay for it (the gear). 2. It looks sh*t. 3. I'm not in this band any more.
A quality response.

    hello!

Welcome to basschat. EB0, nice. I'd buy one but am having issues with the Chancellor of the Exchequer for the house to release said funds. Then of course there's the list of other stuff I need.
My name is ... naaah, you wouldn't stand a chance of pronouncing it anyway
You're probably right Welcome the basschat, you've got some nice gear.
  23.
A fantastic bit of kit for the price... I've just bought one and i really like it...
A man with impeccable taste.....I also have a 300 and just love it.
  24. 2nd hand Warwick or a new Rockbass maybe. Ibanez SR300 or maybe stretch to a 500. Very sleek. The Squire CV comes highly recommended, I was in a shop on Monday and the owner was literally eulogizing about them.
