1. I to plug the Zoom in via a USB, which is why I can't work out what's going on. Unless of course the GarageBand itself has some sort of issue. I was thinking about monitoring through my practice amp to see if that stops it. Or maybe there is an inaudible, to me, hum emanating from the active circuitry of my bass.
2. There's nothing wrong with wearing glasses. Helps me see that that is NOT Vera or Nora.
3. Really Obvious Chinese Kit But A Stupendous Sound.
4. The only thing I record is a bass part over a drum loop, just so I can actually hear myself playing. I use a Zoom B2.1u as an interface. Create a Real Instrument track, Input source set at Stereo 1/2 (built-in input), Monitor: On with Feedback Protection. When recording there is a constant buzzing noise (which comes out during playback as well) and I get constant pop-up messages stating that Feedback has been detected and advices I turn feedback detection on - it would appear to have turned itself off . I've also got Cubebase LE but haven't used it yet, I assume that doesn't have built in drum loops. Any ideas please?
5. Ibanez Incredibly balanced and never ever zigzags?

TAB
That was actually me Marvin, who asked for the Maggie May tab. The fact that I couldn't find it is what prompted me to start this thread.
7.
Bad monkey, no more pretty pictures for you now. Its going to be Vera Duckworth and Nora Batty from now on
Please, no. I promise not to touch wiki. I've a horrible feeling that doesn't sound good
8.
That looks great, but I think I'm gonna need a bigger pouch for college books, leads and what not. Thanks for the suggestion though! Is it this one? Looks perfect for what I'm after, cheers!
Yes, but I think that's an old image. Mine looks more like this. Kinsman Guitar Bag (looks exactly like the bass bag).
9. I've got a Kinsman Premium Bass Guitar Bag. Kinsman You have to scroll down a bit to the Premium cases. I got it from Gear4Music, and I think it was about £30 or £40. Guy in my LMS actually complimented me on how good a bag it was the other day. It's very good for the money.

TAB

I agree with Thunderbird, that part of the problem is that there is a lack of notation for a lot of the material that many of us like. However, I was on the Theory and Tech forum just now and someone had kindly tracked down some TAB for Maggie May for someone else. It's on 'Songster' and it actually plays it for you as well as providing the TAB. I've been starting to learn to read notation all evening and when I came to try and read this TAB as songster played the tune I struggled to figure out what the hell was going on. Whereas I was beginning to get the hang of reading notation. I dislike TAB, unfortunately for some genres it's all that's available if your ear is naff or you're in a rush.
11. Cool as mate I'm with OldGit though and am going to be editing and adding Well done
12. Members post transcriptions on this forum, so it seems the appropriate place to ask for transcriptions. Requests get more response here. Furthermore if it was a problem for the mods or the admin team then I think they may have had something to say about it already.

TAB
Yes. I do the same - and I don't even like tab that much. The worst thing is most of my bass sheet music books have the tab underneath. It's just like putting the TV on at a party, you can't help but look at it. One day I'll go through and black marker the whole thing out.
I bought a bass tuition book (now there's a novelty ) recently and it starts off with notation, so I think 'very good, no chance of being lazy here', and then half way through introduces TAB underneath. Which I thought ridiculous. Can I borrow your black marker please?

TAB

If I've wanted to learn a song I have always in the past and now turned to TAB. Unfortunately it seems to be the only available resource for the songs I wish to learn, and of course these days it's free. But, I agree with Les literally heaps of it is wrong. I'm not a very good player but even I can hear when something is completely out. This week however, I've started on my new challenge to learn to read music. I've only been going for 2 days so I've only got to very simple bars of a max of 4 notes - you get the idea, stuff that starts you off counting etc. I've got to say though proper notation just gives you so much more information. I've been that inspired but just the little I've done I am most definitely going to pursue this. My ear isn't very good so I've always relied on TAB, unfortunately it's just a list of notes and creates bad habits. Part of the reason for me wanting to learn to read music is to stop referring to the notes as 'string and fret no.' and instead to them as notes. I'm going to stop now because I could go on forever. TAB -use with caution.
20. Welcome and enjoy.

Hello

Welcome to the forum. You may want someone to look at that instrument in the photo. It appears to have too many strings, and they're a bit skinny and by the looks of it it's tuned an octave too high. Hmmmm you might be able to fix it but I don't hold out much hope.
22. Unfortunately my ears are awful . There never seems to be much transcribed material for The Faces or early Rod. Shame i like it.
23.
ooh yes please! you say these are colour samples, does that mean the shape is a real bass?
I like them as well. In some ways I hope it's a fictitious bass, otherwise my wallet may lighten a little.
24.
The bongo looks a lot like daddy...
'Tis a fine looking instrument isn't it. I'll go further and say proportionately the bongo is more aesthetically pleasing than the little fellas.
25. Links from 911 Tabs This is the only thing I could lay my hands on. None of them are particularly good actually. Sorry.
