1. Then there's the next category of course, those of us who only play bass and that's it. If my memory serves me right I think I know 3 chords on the guitar. So I'd be limited to some punk and a Status Quo tribute act. Other than that it's bass bass bass. (And I'm not very good at bass either).
2.
P.S. No guitar sadly, well not yet anyway...
Do not be tempted by those dark ways. You must resist I'll have to admit to leading a sheltered life and actually had to google 'Crazy Train' to find out who performed it  . So despite my ignorance, very good had the right feel to it.
3. Welcome
4. Welcome. An EB3, good taste. Otherwise I'm about as much help as an ashtray on a motorcycle.
5.
Totally. However,if you don't have spare strings on you,or you don't have enough time to change them for whatever reason, you should know the instrument well enough that you can shift your parts to another position on the 'board.
That would be asking a lot from some people . Good job it wouldn't apply to drummers. Surely carrying spare strings at least is like carrying the spare wheel for your car. It's something you always do. (Of course there will always be times when you've just been caught out).
6. Add a Squire Jazz of some sort to OutToPlayJazz's list and then I'd be heaven. The Epi's would be just the ticket for my Andy Fraser impersonations. As for the jack point on the Ibby, they're so skinny it may be the only place it can be located. And yes the SR300 is good. I can't see me ever getting rid of mine.
7. It was either Johnny B. Goode or Sunshine of Your Love. I'd have to check with my oldest mate which one it was, he played guitar and learnt all the songs then told the rest of us what we should be playing.
8. Just cracking. Simple as that.
9. Blimey you've done well this week. The Steinberger and the Pat Wilkins both gone. You'll be going into sales then! .
10. My dad used to use Plastic Padding for everything. Unfortunately it does leave that fibre glass smell for some time.
11. An Ibanez man, good choice. Welcome to the forum.
12. Welcome to the forum. The Vigier will go down well with Ped I do the same, practice using a Zoom with headphones. I tend to practice when the kids are in bed, so it works well.
13.
Hello mate, hope you like the weather here on Basschat, it's warm and cosy and very sunny. It's only where the server is locatated that the weather is sh*t. Anyway, being from Vegas, you may know of another Basschat member, Craig Martini, who is rather awesome. Cheers.
Myself and Mr Martini are exactly the same age, to the day, we are Bass Twins . Unfortunately for me Craig got all the talent , he is ridiculously good and a nice bloke.
14. Welcome to the house of fun.
15. Oh oh I'm having GAS issues. I like the Daisy model :brow:
16. I tried to saw the end of my finger off the other week, that was quite painful. Wasn't helped that, because I work outside, my hands dry out a lot which makes the skin split open, on every finger. I now moisturise regularly <said in camp voice > .
17.
Thanks dude! I thought since my name is Andy Frazer, I had better get a pseudonym, in case people expected me to be able to play!
The great Andy Fraser, a new inspiration in my life. You must teach me how to play the bass solo to Mr Big sometime Welcome to the forum, packed full of friendly info and advice and the we have the bonus of Skandelvar's contributions which are just works of genius. 24.
You mean too old to remember the notes?
I do like that one I'll second whoever it was who said tell to f*** off.
25.
Some bands / tabs will list stuff as C, F & G when the tuning is tuned down half a step so you'll be playing B, E and F# when playing along with the recording.
What arses these people are. I'm a theory numpty but it does take a genius to work out that if you detune you're playing different notes.
