1. I bought an Ibanez swx35. It's got plenty enough of features, CD/MP3 input, headphone socket, line out and other stuff. Does alright for me. Can be a bit hissy. Would probably suggest the perfect 10 though, or possibly a Line 6 if he can stretch that far.(not quite sure about their price, TBH)
 2.
I thought you were in a cheesy mood?
It's a transitional period
 3.
andy apple would sparkle a bit the red sparkle one is majorly sparkly i know what you mean about the blue one it is a really nice blue and i would agree the maple would look lovely on that too im hoping to see a CA one in a few days with the rose wood and the maple neck i got to travel a little way to see it but it will be worth it. I know maple isnt for everyone but im a bit of a fan on it to be honest i have a cream p bass with a white scratch plate and i want to put a maple neck on that i think it would amaizing with it on but i may not bother once o got the ianez as it might look a little OTT with them both being maple necks we will see. Markus
I would have probably felt differently if I'd got the maple neck, and not been keen on the rosewood All said it's a very good bass for the money. It was either the SR300 or a Squire VMJ, both very good but the Ibby felt more me. All the best with your new purchase Rich
 4.
A debate is like a fine chocolate truffle which requires both sugar and salt. 'Live and let live' is the sugar. The robustness with which one advances one's position is the salt. Too much of either and it is a poor truffle. Personally, I incline towards tolerance with an almost psychopathic obsession. Next year's Nobel peace prize will be mine and I don't care who I have to kill to get it.
I tend to veer widely from sugar and then to salt. Suffice to say my truffles do not taste very nice I go from being very tolerant to verging on being a disciple of Trotsky and questioning everything, there must be permanent revolution. I'm in a salty mood today
 5.
Three things .. Just because I word things in a slightly provocative manner does not mean I am being negative, and the implication that "there is something wrong with people who are happy to pay that amount of money for something they like" was just a bit of banter. You said, live and let live, I used the Mugabe reference in relation to that. Nothing to do with spending £5k on a GUS. I am terribly sorry you have facial neuralgia, that must be a real pisser. You'll probably find most of us have something wrong with us, or have some emotional stresses. I myself have have had ectopic eczema since birth (bad enough to have been studied by the Royal Free) and have just developed dry eye syndrome which is rather annoying. There are things that make up for these things, like buying an Oly White and dark tort vintage Fender Jazz or being in posession of a monster penis.
Is it on loan from someone or did you pinch it.
 6.
Good, cause I can't either. Vent over. EDIT: I'm generally pissed off with everyone who can't live and let live. Of course there's a monumental irony in there but hey, that's life.
Live and let live is akin to continually sitting on that fence, which becomes ultimately very painful. If you see something you don't agree with, that you think is wrong or morally indefensible then stand up and say your piece. The price tag is ridiculous, no amount of r&d or cost of materials and labour could justify the amount asked for that instrument, the figures simply don't stack up. And if someone wants to criticise the notion someone else is willing to pay that much, then they should. Now where did I put that moral compass of mine.
 7.
Yes!
(in game show host style) You're wrrrrrrong I'm afraid, so you don't win a prize. Also the analogy between expensive basses and why buy a Porsche when you can have a Fiesta, just doesn't stack up. At the risk of getting ripped apart by the rest of you, the difference between say a standard stock instrument of very good quality and reasonable price tag and these very expensive basses is just simply not that big. You argue about materials, craftsmenship, core tone, electronics and all the other bits, the gap is not that big. Why can Fodera charge that much, because we've all become self indulgent and selfish. 'Oh I couldn't possibly pay a little more tax so someone can have maybe the access to life saving cancer drugs' but I can indulge myself in very expensive well anything. It's crap just admit it. We're all hypocrites. Waits for the wrath of basschaters to ensue.
 8.
When i get mine im having it in candy apple red with a maple neck i think that is just about the nicest combination ive ever heard of lol. Markus
Mine's in CAP (or it might be sparkle 'cause it does a bit) with rosewood neck. I thought maple would be better but I saw one in my LMS and wasn't that keen on it. Maybe it's just me. What I really wanted though was it in that electric blue they were doing it in with a maple neck, that was the dogs wotsits for me. I think they not do it anymore in blue
 9. It's to stop riff raff buying them.
 10.
Can? Please, for the love of god, tell me that you don't.
I think silddx is just after those boots.
 11. Would I? In a word No.
 12. I was listening to some Guns 'n' Roses this morning (first time for ages) and realised that all my favourite bits were the licks and solos done by Duff. Like the little bit at the end of the chorus to Paradise City, it's not complicated but I've always loved it, even before I started playing bass. Perhaps something subconsciously entered my small brain.
 13. Slappers? Bounce off? Follow through? I've never read such filth.
 14. BigRedX's basses I was right he's got a GusG3 5string and a 4 string. He is a self professed purveyor of the unusual.
 15.

Doesn't BigRedX play something similar to that?
 16. On a bit of role aren't you silddx? I haven't seen the new BGM but I think I know what bass you are referring to. Personally I agree, why not buy a Steiny or Hohner headless, they don't get much smaller and they are very good instruments. £579 is very pricey considering what you can get a B2A for second hand.
 17. I think if you were to buy this you would have to be honest and say 'no it's not worth 2 or 3 times a MM, top Fender or Warwick or custom build but I'm buying it for kudos, because i like it, because I have the money and I'm being thoroughly self indulgent and opulent'. I haven't a clue who it would appeal to though at that price. Pro players aren't interested in basses to show off with, they want 'tools of the trade', something that plays well sounds good and is reliable.
 18. i'm completely biased against Riki's and for Warwicks. Don't understand the appeal of Riki's either aesthetically or sonically. I'd stick with the Fender if you want an all rounder and the Warwick if you want to go off on a tangent. It doesn't really matter though because we all now know that core tone is a load of crap.
 19. Steady on chaps, I've only just bought the copy with JPJ on the cover and now we're onto the next one which I probably won't see for another couple of weeks. Really. It's getting more and more difficult to find BGM in the newsagents where I live. It's migrated to next to the Tattoo mags, which are next to the smutty mags. It's becoming quite uncomfortable finding it lately.
 20. Bit late to the party but only picked up a copy today. Promised myself I wouldn't but glad I did. Brilliant issue. Maybe it's because I've been on here so much lately I'm understanding a lot more, but I didn't feel 'at arms length'. Thoroughly enjoyed the read especially the piece of Duff and JPJ. That article by that Mike Flynn bloke though really stank. That's going to get me a warning isn't it, it was a joke, honest. I really loved the look of Martin Petersen's workshop, with cat of course.
 21.
£100 for a day ticket and the gig, man that's outrageous.
You've done it again Youma, changed without telling anyone. Stop it, it causes confusion £100 a ticket I'm thinking not.
 22.
Yep, see if you can see 'em
Looks like a koala to me
 23.
Marvin, thank you mate! I think it will take a while because people aren't familiar with the name so it's a bit of an unknown quantity. Thing is, it feels like a Fender but so much better than any Fender I've ever played. It's smoother, more organic, a remarkably well thought out instrument. The sounds are Fender-like but more sophisticated and subtle, the mid sweep is really something. Pat's done wonderful fretwork on what is the nicest Fender type neck I've ever played. Pat himself is a really nice guy too, really helpful.

The more I look the more I want....dammit!
How could you resist with a pitch like that?
 24. Have an early bump. Quick someone, you have got to buy this quality instrument. Otherwise Nigel might change his mind and put one of those Warwicks back up for sale and I'll get all sweaty and start thinking about parting with cash I simply haven't got. Good luck mate it's got to sell, it looks the business. Cheers Rich
 25.
Happened to us a couple of years back at a charity gig. She was a fully fledged member. The Sally army. Mustang brigade...
Huge round of applause
