1. The MAG115 (slim) cabs are still around. They come up second hand. However, as Ashdown are now on to the Rootmaster series, stores with the older MAG series will/are selling the MAGs new for about the same as you can get them used. PMT have one in stock. 2. I've got 2 basses, one if which I don't really use but won't sell because it's not worth an awful lot. The there's one amp, one cab a couple of stands, a case for each bass, some cables and a Zoom B1on I use for home practice. Just enough to do what I need to do.
3. The TE website doesn't appear to have been updated for some considerable time. It's won't be long until TE is no more I imagine.
4.
For myself it's only the six years I've been on Basschat. The 34 years before that I was perfectly happy with my gear. But I still don't want to know how much I've spent/lost in that time.
I've been keeping a record of your transactions and can forward the total amount spent to you if you want
5.
Remember, as I always say, "It's a business"
Gigging covers is a business, music is a creative art form.
6. I can't see many people going for this at £380. It's a great concept, just too expensive.
7. Can we stop the puns and get back on topic...don't let me down.
8. Fender really have done a great job with the V3 Rumble series. The 500 combo is very loud for a 210 and has a great tone, it's very difficult to make it sound bad. The overdrive circuit can add some lovely harmonics but doesn't make you sound like you've turned into a metal guitarist. It's quite a small cabinet and very light. It must be seriously loud with an extension cab. If I were to go back to a combo then this is what I'd buy, i just really like its tone.
9. Aaaaaggggghhhhh! OMG a post out of context! Quickly someone, check all the other threads to make sure it doesn't happen again.
10.
Have you not read the thread's title?
Did you read the post to which Ubit was replying?
11.
It's nothing to do with down sizing, volume knob job done.
You can play around with the volume knob to your heart's content, but it won't make an Ampeg 410 any lighter or physically smaller. Reducing audible volume does not reduce physical volume to make it more practical for smaller venues.
12. I'm down to 2. I only really use one of them though.
13. Join a band. It does 2 things. Firstly it ups your playing. Secondly, you realise that you aren't crap at all and that all the people you thought would be brilliant are at best average
14.
Yes, I'm ordering one today.
What's wrong with the box it came in?
15.
the headstock though
It's not great, but then neither are the headstocks on Sadowsky's, Fodera's, D Lakin, G&L's and others ( all of which cost more as well).
16. A Zoom B1on. That's all I use at home. If you don't mind using headphones it's got everything you need really. If I were looking at a practice combo, that's easy, a Fender Rumble (just pick the size to suit need). They are lovely sounding combos with good features.
17. Leave the knobs alone, it'll only end in embarrassment
18. I actually use a black plastic toolbox I bought cheap from Lidl. It's got my 2 Hercules mini stands in the bottom, all my leads a cables I use and emergency kit (screwdrivers, pliers, batteries and other stuff)
19. You might find a second hand/older model, however, the only Attitude that Yamaha make now is Sheehan's signature model.
20. Yes they do, although I suspect it depends on what level of pro/touring player. It probably explains why boutique gear is rarely seen on stages.
21. It really depends on your budget, and what sort of music you'd be playing...you don't want to be struggling to be heard obviously. If you've got a good budget then I'd be looking at one of the lightweight 212 cabs from say Bergantino, TKS, Barefaced etc combined with a lightweight head. If however you're a bit more money conscious (like me ), then for a lightweight combo that doesn't cost a lot either it's hard to beat the Fender Rumble 500 v3. Lovely tone, holds its own volume wise in all but the loudest bands, even then you can add another cab and blow your bandmates through buildings. Great little combos...
22. It's definitely for the seller to refund the buyer and then the seller to seek compensation from the courier.
23.
Saw The Winery Dogs Last night in Bristol - Awesome! Billy Sheehan, Mike Portnoy and Richie Kotzen at their explosive best!
I was there, and they were awesome...and explosive.
