1.
OMG, I've found a track on there by a band I was in in the early 90s! Thirteen years later it appears on a compilation that was released eight years ago! Talk about your life being online... please play it - I'll get 0.05 percent of $0.007. Then off to Antigua for me! https://play.spotify...F78z6Bs8zeqYKjx
I'll put it on an infinite loop of repeating play on my Samsung tablet...you might have to wait a few, um, months for the royalties to stack up though
2. Average payment to artist per play on Spotify $0.007
3.
As it's half term I voted no to save you from hordes of wannbe guitarists. However it seems the visit passed without incident and Bass. On that subject and re your gas, have you visited the Marcus Miller/Sire Bass thread? Very affordable...
I'm just decideing which finish I should get re. the Marcus Miller /Sire Bass Tobacco Burst or Black....

Just sold a DBX compressor to Chris. Great comms, very prompt payment. Absolutely no problems. A classic basschat deal
5. Mike bought a Squier P bass from me. Great comms, very quick payment. A seamless transaction...all good Cheers
6. I went, I saw...and didn't buy anything. The bass 'department' seems to have shrunk markedly in Mansons to make room for , um, a lot more acoustic guitars it seems. I did see a very nice candy apple red Fender MIM Jazz. It really did look very nice and felt very nice. BUT, at up around £550ish I think it was, just not nice enough. There were quite a few 4 figure Fenders, all out of my price range. The Pedulla's were very nice...but they were into 4 figures as well. The basses were all ok, but nothing really grabbed me. I was disappointed with the amp side of things, there was very little to choose from. A few Hartke combos and the odd bit of this and that really. I also went into another music shop in Exeter which was quite frankly a complete waste of time. Where they keep what pitiful basses they have is an embarrassment, they just shouldn't bother. SO...I've still got Jazz bass GAS
7. Hope the one on order is all ok. I saw one in a store today, very nice. It looked very well finished and it's very light.
8.
Yes, they're only wood and wire but I've moved on three basses and regret selling them all. Will I ever learn? No
Fixed
9.
No. I'm not familiar with the Eagles history, so don't understand what you mean. Either they're very particular about getting it spot on or the versions are completely different? Judging by the fact that they've recorded 'live' albums, I'm guessing it must be the latter. What would be the point (other than financial) of releasing songs that are exactly the same? Just do a greatest hits album.
Anal would be the word to use when referring to The Eagles
10. The hour is up. Great result, a resounding yes. I'm off to find my stash of cash and car keys EDIT: whoever voted no, it was after the deadline
11.
Ask on Dadsnet - there won't be any self-pitying rants or threats of suicide, honest.
Sounds like off topic
12.
Quite. He should have posted the question on Mumsnet instead.
They wouldn't let me join...something to do with not being a mum, bloody sexism.
13. You have 1 hour to decide
14.
Well, if you weren't so bloomin' grumpy all the time...
I prefer to view myself as someone people should approach with caution rather than grumpy
15. I've got an Ampeg 410...I don't worry about it blowing away in the wind It's not the weight I find a problem, it's a deep cab so can be awkward to carry. Very rarely does any one help me with it
16. Can't even buy it in my neck of the woods...not even the nearest WH Whiffs stocks it any more. Odd, as they do sell tub thumping monthly

18. Price drop - £15 As new, project I bought it folded so never got used. Boxed. Photo to follow.
19. People not learning by ear will be one of those first world problems. Most of the people who I've been in bands with that swear blind they can play by ear make an absolute balls up of the songs they try...I wish sometimes they would maybe get some guidance from a decent score or tab.
20. The one thing that playing in a 'bedroom' to backing tracks etc won't prepare you for is actually playing with other people...it can be a whole different ball game. You can learn a song at home, think you've really nailed it, get into a practice room with others and it'll sound 'different'...others may not be playing what you expect them to and you have to respond to that. Over analysing your playing can be a destructive path..it was for me and resulted in a miserable 2 years of thinking I wasn't good enough to be in certain bands. What you realise is that the really good players are both encouraging, polite and humble. The one's who think their excrement smells better then the rest, they're not worth being in a band with anyway. Enjoy playing, and one of the best ways is to play in a band. You'll learn more and improve quicker than staying home. My playing has massive holes in it, there's straightforward stuff that I'm absolutely crap at...but I've never failed to get in a band I've tried out for. This to me is really odd, but what the hell. If you can fit it in with your job, go for it.
21. I started getting into techno, house and acid jazz when Oasis et al were popular. I hated all those bands. To me they wrre insipid and as bland as could be...very right on i suppose in the way they recycled so much material from before. All those bands pretty much killed off British guitar music for me. Noel's just got a big gob and has to say something a bit off to get headlines when his new record is coming out....suppose it might be used for a cure for insomnia
22. From what I can gather the US ones come with the cover and a gig bag, but the European ones don't seem to. I could be wrong though.
23. GASing for a black jazz bass for some reason
