How about a new section to the forum to discuss music ?
'Pinning' wouldn't help; all that's required is to 'follow' the topic, with one of the options ('Instantly' etc...), and be sure that the Notifications Options in 'My Settings' are ticked for either 'Email' or 'Notification List' (or both..!). Any future posts to the topic will thus be brought to your attention. Hope this helps.
I personally find the notification list on any of my mobile devices absolutely useless. Tap on notifications and it won't load, it just hangs. I've never been able to access the list on the mobile site...and i don't want email notifications they just clog up my in box. Even on the desktop site the notification list can take ages to load. (and that's on a mac, pc using various browsers, the experience is the same). -
Bryan Adams, Manchester this Sunday, anyone else ??

I saw him play live twice, many moons ago. Absolutely brilliant concerts. His guitarist, Keith Scott is not too shabby a player -

Reet lursh! Very nice indeed, not stop posting clips and pics or I'm going to end up a jibbering wreck of unrequited GAS ...I might suggest that song to might mate who wants to start a band 'doing something a bit heavier...' -
Stayed up and watched it last night, very good programme. Really interesting to watch how Jack Bruce played, very much a style of his own. Great tone as well (I liked it). Ginger Baker, unfortunately, reinforced his reputation. He seems to have a very different take on 'history'.

Why do I bother? Gets me out the house....
Guess this brings out the old what's best the technically superior player who is the commensurate weekend warrior/bedroom player or the multi multi multi millionaire in a global band who hacks at the bass?
Not really. Most estimates put Clayton's 'net worth' at $150m...which is somewhat behind Marcus Miller who is worth approx $215m. I'll take brilliant musician who is also minted over the slightly less minted hack any day.

I'm shocked that Clayton a) had lessons and b.) possibly got worse as a result.... or am I ?
In 2007 I had a warning for using the word 'tits' on TB. ped
They weren't aware you were a keen ornithologist then? I find TB too big and unwieldy, that and sarcasm is frowned upon.

He's been putting these types of covers out for a few years now, he used to post them on here. At first one thinks 'wow, how awesome! ' then the novelty fades. Then it's just some dude slapping to every song under the sun. As you can tell it did little for me. That's not to say he's not a very good bass player, I just didn't like it.
Holy mother of God! Those white Spectors are a bit special.
Someone get a medical professional, this man's GAS rate is likely to go through the roof. 😯 -
All aforementioned online places have had some succes for me. You get the time wasters, delusional and plain weird but no more than in life in general

A lovely pair you've got there -
I always ask for cash now. No matter how specific I was I'd always end up getting something that resulted in me exclaiming "WHAT THE F*** IS THAT?"

I'm toying with the idea of a 1x10 cab for practice with the band. Practice's are quiet and I'd like something small and a 1x10 would be ideal...although a 1x12 is possible I suppose. I'd like a sealed cab as I have a small combo* with a sealed driver in it and really do like the sound. I don't want to spend an awful lot and it doesn't have to break any records for being light . I suppose budget for the driver would be £50-60. Any recommendations? Thank you. *the small combo is too small even for the quiet practices unfortunately.
Yeah, but it didn't work this time and now I've made an arse of myself, so I hope you're happy.
Well, in this turbulent and ever changing world, it's nice to know some things don't change

I use the hercules mini stands and never had a problem with them
I have been on the phone to Guitar Giutar and they are not interested. PlusI am out of pocket and bassless until I can get it redelivered!
I'd be back on the phone, and if needs be kicking up a stink. You paid them for Sunday delivery, your contract is with them so I'd be asking for a full refund on the delivery charge. You don't have a contact with DPD so it's not up to you to go chasing them. I'd also be seeking some discount on the bass and it delivered at a time of my convenience... so I could write on Basschat ' what great service I got from this well known instrument retailer, some non-employee stranger type must have answered the phone the first time, I assume'. Hope it works out.

The problem with streamlining the models within each range is, as as been seen on this very thread, people end up saying '..but, I'd to see them do...' which of course means another model. Fender aren't a boutique or high end manufacturer, they should stick to being a mass manufacturer but make sure they have very good QC. People still buy into the brand so the core of their business is probably quite healthy. It's the aimless acquisitions that are harming Fender both financially and its reputation. It's cost them a fortune and it's not gone down well with the instrument buying public that good brands have been bought up and shut down. Bono and The Edge being 'hired', for me, shows that those at the top of FMIC are totally clueless regards the market they are in. It can be regarded as a gimmick at best. Celebrity board members would be all very well if they were synonymous with the brand, but they aren't. They may use Fender but they're not Fender through and through, so it's a nonsense. FMIC might not survive but the Fender brand will, someone would buy it if the holding company went under.

I've emailed Yamaha to ask if it is it for the TRB range. I also checked the Yamaha US site and it's disappeared from there too. It'll be interesting to see what they say. I was only saying to someone the other day that I'd like to get a TRB next. 😕
-
On the Yamaha website they only seem to be producing one signature TRB, the John Patitucci 6 string. And if you browse the online stores many of the other models say discounted. Seems an awful shame if they have. EDIT. They might still be doing a 1005j

Wasn't the bass in tune when you bought it? Sorry, old band joke I'd personally NOT buy a Korg clip on tuner. I've got one and it's absolute pants. The £5 non brand thing I bought for my son off Amazon is miles better. All seems a bit hit and miss tbh
Yeah it was excellent. I don't really dig the Foo's music, but I have great admiration for them as a band, and for Dave Grohl. They epitomise everything good about music and being in a band, with a very deep and genuine adoration of rock music and its history. He's a great ambassador, and one of the few torchbearers for good old honest rock music.
Spot on. Everybody seems to love Dave Grohl except Courtney Love...which is slightly ironic
My beef with some of the posts is that they are either subjective or totally off topic with respect to the original post, The main gist of the OP was: "I have a Barefaced Super 12T . It's a great sounding cab , But I can't stand the handles this is the 3rd time I've picked the cab up by the top handle and it has swung back and bashed me in the shines. I really don't think it needs those wheels" Almost alI the posts berating Barfaced have nothing to do with the palcement, or intended use of the top handle. I have seen posts of poor build quality but have only heard of one failed handle. As the handle was the starting point of the thread then that is on topic. Most of the other comments are not. Poor build quality would result in multiple failures but the handle failure is the first I have heard. I think many people confuse build quality with cosmetic appearance. Had any of the Barefaced cabinets had the problems of the same magnitude as the Ampeg PF500 amp (now on at least revision 7) , I could understand it but they don't. I do not like the look of the Ampeg Valve heads. i my opinion they are cosmetically very poor ( maybe they are just retro) gives no indication of the build quality or reliability. This has been a real bandwagon jumping session and the trouble is that different people are jumping on different wagons. What has the sound of the cabinet (a sound that many people like) or the look of the cabinet got to do with the placement (and misuse of) of one of the handles? Maybe if we all shut up Alex migh come on and chip in but to be honest, if I were him I would keep contact on a one to one basis with customers.
Totally agree with you.
I've never understood marketing based on where the product is made. The only sensible business strategy is to make it in the location that gives you the biggest profit. The myth that the US produces the best quality musical instruments was exploded in the 1970s by the Japanese, and the only way the myth can be maintained at all is by deliberately reducing the quality in non-US factories by using lower spec components and dropping quality control. And all that does is screw your brand. It might pander to xenophobia in certain parts of the US music fraternity, but I can't see why anyone in Europe would give a damn where their guitar is made.
Unfortunately for Fender you've hit the nail on the head. Their home US consumers fiercely believe US made is way beyond anything made anywhere else. The anti foreign made feeling is very strong, this is especially so for Asian manufactured equipment.

If it were an unknown doing this then it would be ignored, completely ignored. Stick Bowie's name to it and all of a sudden it becomes interesting etc etc.
