1. Kayne West should be made to apply for a permit to be breathing oxygen...
2. It's a very nice looking bass. I think it's great you've found a very playable instrument that you like using for so little. Tell others it's a custom build if you want, they won't know
3. I've bought several items from them, one of them was a combo. Delivery was fast, I like the option of having some choice over delivery date on their site. I had to return a stand once (it was as the manufacturers description so not G4M's fault), had no problems. I'd buy from them again.
4. Another heads up for kiOgon. Drop hom a PM, say what you're wanting sound amd tone wise...he gives great advice
5.
Yes but not all for the same reason. What I remember is (hopefully correctly) .. I remember the Mani thread, IIRC there were some dozy questions, lots of welcomes, not a lot useful, just, I love me Rickenbackers. Yolanda Charles probably got inundated, as I imagine Mani did. Probably a ton of PMs. Janek had too many spats and then had the piss taken excessively by tBBC. Guy P was referred to in an anecdote about telling some iffy jokes and people jumped on the bandwagon. Vail Johnson (who virtually no-one here had heard of, think I remember reading about him in '80s US guitar mags, completely forgotten about him though) made a very bold statement and got pounced on, fairly IMO but a bit too viciously. Dunno what's happened to Jerry Scheff, but he refuted HJ's neggy book review and they became friendly. Lemmy called discreet a w***er and couldn't believe the tornado-level backlash and got frightened off .. Who else has been on here? What have we learned from them?
Wasn't aware of the last one, but the others are as I remember them...oh, and I've not the faintest idea who Jerry Scheff is Celeb members tend to see the site turn into the bass worlds very own Hello magazine online when it's known who they are...odd considering
6. With regards gear, if we took the lead from PRO players we'd all be playing P basses through Ashdown rigs :/
7.
.... but I am rambling a bit, Lol.
Yep
8. Blimey, that was a miserable 3 pages to read I tend to be able to scan over, skip over anything on Basschat that doesn't interest me and in no way feel badgered to participate in anything. I don't vote and very rarely listen to the Comp competition because the genres don't really do it for me...that's just a matter of personal taste...I'm also very narrow minded musically
9. Excellent bass player and very influential...but maybe some people have confused best with most popular
10.
I think we have enough dissenters to start a 'NOT ALL RIGHT NOW!' campaign... I'll get the t-shirts done.
You have my address...I'll send a cheque. I'll have 2 please
11. Do nothing. Any bass who even looks like they're going to play a note in the verse should be publicly ridiculed. I actually left a band because they wouldn't drop it from the set list
12.
They're a bit F*nd*ry, but I like the Ivory/Tort one. I presume $199 will translate to £249 by the time they get here..?
No maple fingerboard though
13. Here's the US collection for the SR range...I need to move the States http://www.ibanez.co.jp/products/u_eb_sub_series15.php?series_id=51&year=2015&cat_id=2 and here's the UK :/ http://www.ibanez.co.jp/products/eb_sub_series15.php?series_id=51&area_id=3&year=2015&cat_id=2 I'm really hoping the SR1400E in the blue comes to the UK. I'd sell my current 3 basses for one of those.
14. Never found wearing a wedding ring a problem.
15. I just wish that a few more of the finishes that are on their US site were available here in the UK. The SR1400 is available in a very nice red or blues in the states Hopefully the new SR650s will be coming to the UK as well
Hmm, I would expect closer to £279, given the way the pound-dollar usually works for us. £249, perhaps, which would put it above its competitors. The Scrambler side needs to be good to justify that, for sure.
That's not going to be particularly competitive to be fair.

Hope it's at 'the right price', it's a really versatile piece of kit. I'd get one as long as it's not too pricey
18. Whatever it's for it's darned ugly that's for sure.
19. Shame on you Clarky. Wish i was in a band that could sell out a bus shelter let alone a venue.
20.
300w 15" plus 6 model sounds and doing it pretty well for £500. http://www.gak.co.uk/en/line-6-lowdown-ld-300-pro/23592 Must check it out for that price. Used it in the studio and it went down well with a DI and mic take
Line6 don't make them anymore and as it says on the GAK link they're discontinued. ...and they weigh in excess of 40kg which more than most 410 cabs.
21.
Thanks, Rich. I'll ask him! I think ultimately the plan is to go to the States, but I'm not yet au fait with Hat's world domination plan...
I wasn't thinking that far west to be honest, more sort of west of Bristol but east of say Falmouth
22. I use the free version, mainly for making up playlists of the material of the band I'm in. It's also good for finding new music and 'testing' new albums to see if I actually want to buy them I don't need it for on the move. There aren't that many ads tbh, and what there are are mainly Spotify desperately wanting you to sign up to the premium service.
23. Top notch Mark You'll need to get Cowboy Hat to venture west, there's a good Americana following around these here parts...it is the west after all
24. Ed Friedland's reviews are the only ones I've ever given any time to...and they are very good actually. (obviously this contradicts my previous statement....but to be honest I simply don't care )
25. I don't take any notice of YT demos or soundclips of basses or amps. When it's in my hands it'll sound very different so it seems somewhat of a redundant exercise to watch/listen to someone else playing an instrument etc.
