1.
I still use an HA3000 (I hate graphic equalisers ) as a backup. It's a battered old workhorse that's done thousands of gigs, but it works just fine for me.
I LOVE graphic equalisers...so much so I bought a separate one, and it's got lots of lovely lights on it and it looks reet perty
 2. Saw this on the Ibanez website. I'm not convinced to be honest...it also looks a bit clumsy design wise. http://www.ibanez.co.jp/products/eb_page14.php?year=2014&area_id=3&cat_id=2&series_id=66&data_id=271&color=CL01
 3.
I had a G15 100 a while back but moved it on sadly. I assume we're talking the blue cast frame one from the early '80s? They also did a 'spider' frame version too although I don't know the differences (if any?) between them. Both crop up on ebay from time-to-time.
So close . I'm not sure what frame it is, but I think he's going to have to trawl ebay and be patient.
If it were me, I'd get the spec/model of the chassis in the cab that your mate wants to match/emulate. Post that detail here, and hopefully the knowledge of the speaker guys will be able to suggest a match currently in production. My experience of Marshal cabs ...albeit it a long time ago, is that they wouldn't use a particular special driver so it shouldn't be too hard a job or too expensive
He wants to try and return in to all genuine drivers. There's nothing wrong with the one driver that isn't original, he just wants it to be as authentic as possible I suppose. Personally I'd bin it as I don't like the Dead Kennedy's
 4. Many on here like Hartke A LOT I used a 410XL in a rehearsal room. It was good, but I preferred the sound of my Ampeg 410 - it's a bit warmer and thicker. I think I might prefer the AK series they do. I'd certainly consider one there amps.
 5. Thanks. I thought it was going to be an ebay search. I'd done some searches myself but just wanted to check if there was any 'hidden' specialists Cheers
 6. I don't think certain members of my last band would say I was friendly. The drummer suggested we all bury the hatchet after a particularly unpleasant argument...I said the only hatchet I'd bury was into the other two's gear I'm friendly to people I respect or those I need to be friendly to. Most bass players I've met are friendly sorts
 7.
I can't help but feel that I should have a presence on this thread. You'll never prevent me from being Happy.
Who are you
 8.
Pino and Zak? They're just substitutes. Yes, I'm going...
I can't explain how poor that joke is...anyway, anyhow, anywhere I've Had Enough
 9.
I think she maybe knows what she's talking about from experience ? Yellow sticker or not, would it actually be sorted and delivered ?
She was wrong
 10. This is a bit of a long shot may be... An mate of mine's wife has an old Marshall cab that once belonged to the bass player of the Dead Kennedy's. One of the drivers isn't an original and he wants to put a Celestion G15 100 in in its place. Any body know of anywhere where he might be able to get his hands on one? Thank you
 11. Can your house (I mean in terms of space and the patience of the current Mrs Discreet) handle double* bass GAS? I almost bought one of those HB P basses, stupid money. Great stuff. *unintended pun, that I can't work out how to reword
 12.
Great set list, played a lot of them tracks too, love Nightboat to Cairo...but what no Ghost town
Ghost Town was the first single I bought, an absolute must for a ska list
 13.
I am original. I have invented my own scales based on random notes
Afraid you're mistaken... you're playing jazz, you just didn't realise.
 14. The two best bands I've seen locally... One bass player used a Squier Affinity P bass through a cheap rig, sounded great. The other bass player plays a customised Yamaha TRB J6, which wasn't cheap by any stretch of the imagination. And he sounded great too. All good I usually gig an Ibanez SR300 and I sound, alright.
 15.
Let us face it. The weakest part of the signal chain is the player. sh*t player + amazing bass & rig = sh*t bass. Amazing player + sh*t bass & rig = amazing bass.
These sorts of posts really do boil my waste bodily water. What utter nonsense. Great gear=great player. All my gear is cheap and I'm rubbish, proof if proof was needed so there.
 16.
.... may be a bit embarrassing asking a priest for directions, and actually telling him you fancy his sister.
That's pretty much how I failed my O-level French exam :/
 17. iTunes user with an iTunes account and still no sign of Bonio and his band of chums in my music library...I feel blessed.
 18. ... and being serious for a moment. Although my scale/theory knowledge is limited, I do find that songs make more sense if I can relate some theory to them... and you start to understand why certain note choices sound more appropriate than others.
 19.
That's actually a far more persuasive argument, especially to those of us whose playing has "plateau'd". I have a (depressingly small) arsenal of licks I can drop into a bassline, and I've always wanted to be able to chuck new stuff in on the fly - yes, but what if it doesn't fit?
Quickly slide up, very quickly, to the root, works a treat
 20. Scales are essential for fish, therefore bass. I know, it's not even remotely amusing. It is Monday.
 21. I look forward to see what TE have got coming out new. I'd like to see anything new so that TE are recommended on these pages, like with other brands.
 22. I'd stick with it for now and see if things improve.
 23. I'd be lost without my air bass
 24. Owz thiz geddin' on then?
 25.
Yep, Change your band name to "Half Price Carvery" !!!
With support from 'Free Beer'
