A guy on another forum was asking about tuning to low E which is more or less on the limit of what the human ear can hear. All this assumes you can find cabs designed to handle such low frequencies.

I made a statement about my situation, I didn't criticise anyone for learning to or being able to read notation, and I certainly didn't call for a response that could be inferred as patronising and arrogant.

I was there as well. Sheehan really suffered that night. On his facebook page he said he hadn't played such a hot gig in ages and that he was near exhaustion at the end.

Buying a download feels like you've got a ropey copy of it, like when you used to give your mate a tape to record whatever new album they'd bought. It's not for me. Give me a Cd etc. I also don't like MP3, it sounds dead to me, it's got no sparkle. Unfortunately my nearest HMV is 40 miles away.

The Peavey for me. It has the added bonus that you'll never have to visit the gym...you'll do all the weight lifting you'll ever want to do lifting it.

Would an Encore brand P bass take a Fender/Squier neck? Thinking of a project and I've got a 91 Squier neck that I like but need a body and thought maybe an Encore would do the job.

My situation is similar to Bilbo's. I live in the sticks and trying to find like minded musicians is nigh on impossible... even covers is difficult. Getting paid is a different matter...seems depend on whether the venue likes the look of your singer or you're a part of the local in crowd.
