The singer in the band I just left would check her phone between every song during her solo gigs (not the one we did). It's part of the reason I quit. I got fed up with the 'I've got more gigging experience than you so your opinion counts for nothing' attitude...when clearly she was incredibly unprofessional herself. The final straw came when I bluntly said that sets should not be padded out with chit chat and tunning up, as she thought this was acceptable. She didn't take my view point well Phones, ban them at gigs

It's clearly a design to get the 10s at ear level...the 18s just act as a 'stand'.
I added a second BC212 cab to the setup. The 2X212's sound great with the Fenders I'm playing through them.
That's a great, neat looking rig. I've been toying with the idea of replacing my Ampeg 410 with one BC212. The Ampeg is 4ohm and to be honest I don't really need the amount of volume it can chuck out. I'm just wondering if the 212 would be enough though as I'd only be putting 180w through it max.

It's enough to give you a hernia just looking at it. All those conditions are a complete load of hog wash. I can't see it going anywhere fast... for a whole variety of reasons.

Some of it is incompetence, not only regards know how of mixing but at a more basic level... Some people can't pay unless their part is the loudest bit in the mix. Ultimately hearing other instruments throws them completely.
Very affordable too, if my currency conversion is correct... I'm assuming the prices are in Swedish Kroner?
I think you can two, including shipping, for under £600. I could be wrong though -
I put the same effort in whether there is just one person in the audience, or as many as ten.
You old pro you
Fatal mistake. Some moons ago I went to Catford beer festival on a Thursday evening. As I had an 08:00 start at work the following day I went for the 'sticking to halves' bit. Got in & felt as rough as a badger's rough bits - which made no sense as I'd 'been sensible'. All was explained when I tallied up what I'd drunk - 5 1/2 pints in 1 1/2 hrs.
You binge drinkers are the cause of moral decline in this country. Which was the nicest half?

There's so much scope for jokes about asking people if they'd like to stroke some wood, it doesn't bear thinking about -
My services were also recently dispensed of by a band for being "too jazz"
I had to leave a band this week because, apparently, strongly expressing a contrary opinion is unacceptable. I'd rather it had been musical. And for reference, I am 1 on the hair scale. I am a hobbit.

I massively overplayed then end of Come Together the other weekend...but I defend myself on the grounds there was a lot of space to fill Sometimes I think there are instances where instruments overlap and what we thought was a bass not was actually the guitar, or, like in guitar parts it's difficult to distinguish which guitar is doing what...if that makes sense...it doesn't does it...I'll leave

I used Behringer head through an unknown cab the other week, sounded perfectly fine. I've also got one of their real eq units, it does its job

Guitarist - retuning when putting a capo on...
Marvin replied to Marvin's topic in General Discussion
I'd have needed a near set full of gags... tuning took so long people thought we were packing up. -
Guitarist - retuning when putting a capo on...
Marvin replied to Marvin's topic in General Discussion
The attitude of this particular person is 'I'll play when I'm in tune however long that takes'. -
... and tuning again when taking the capo back off! I've never seen anyone do this before and it's creating huge gaps between the songs it effects. I'm personally of the opinion that gaps between songs should be at a minimum in all respects. Tuning should almost go unnoticed by an audience, they want to hear music. ?

Turning up is always an advantage if you want to stay in the band..shoddy attendance tends to be frowned upon...

I'm currently using my amp as a power amp, currently I can't afford to replace it. I use a rack mount compressor, rack eq unit and a multi fx pedal to sort my sound out. If I change anything it'll be the amp and I'll go down the power amp route.

Good grief I think I've got arc-eye NO, NO, NO

I'm watching highlights of the Pixies T in the Park performance. Paz Lenchantin was spot on. Great sound and tone... p bass and an Ampeg stack, lovely.

I don't know why people get so up tight as to how people choose to 'read' music. The constant bemoaning and sneering is nothing short of snobbery and arrogance. I've had the most fun in music I've had in ages over the last 18 months...in the main from dropping this nagging fear that I wasn't a good bass player because I can't read and I don't know x,y and z. Sometimes I'll play something and I've not the faintest idea why it works, but to be honest I really don't care. I'm not going to bother learning to read for a few reasons. No one I'm in bands with reads. The music I play isn't written in standard notation and I don't want to do the gigs that would require me to do so. LEAVE PEOPLE ALONE.
When I make a mistake, I don't punish myself over it. That's the current mrs discreet's job. No-one sprang fully-formed from a riven oak one stormy night and was immediately able to play bass flawlessly, all the time. The road to great bass playing is paved with mistakes, self-doubt and lots and lots of practice. Well I assume it is, anyway...
Nice, very literary...
