I personally don't like them aesthetically, but if it was the best playing bass for the money I'd go for it.

I got my eq yesterday, very happy with it. I like the 6db/12db switch, it provides the option of how extreme you want to be

I haven't played one but know someone who does. He's had it for 15years, loves it. It sounds awesome to me. The neck must be easy to play because this guy shreds like a guitarist.

As I use the boost function on my amp quite liberally, to give some valvey grit, I go post eq otherwise you don't get any of that sound FOH. Regards overall eq, I have a general sort of sound but would work with a sound engineer re. eq to get a good overall sound for the band. Afterall, all rooms are different so you have to be flexible anyway.

I've neither heard or even seen a Barefaced cab in the flesh, and can't afford one anyways. They do however, seem to get a disproportionate amount of criticism. A simple question about a handle turned into a product assassination...problems with handles have apparently hit Markbass at some time, we don,t however see posts then saying the whole product is crap. Others seem to confuse not liking the finish with saying that barefaced have a poor finish. Criticism is valid only if it has substance and isn't just the usual British 'have a knock' at something.

Perhaps if one wishes to indulge in televised live music of the eve of the new year then this could be an option. Instead of Jools, purchase a Dvd of your favourite band playing live, watch this and at midnight raise a glass and all will be merry and happy.

I've looked into building a fEARFUL cab, and when I worked out the cost it simply didn't make sense. It cost a slight bit more than buying a premium brand cab second hand (with similar spec). I personally think the big plus of the BFM cabs is that they are designed to be able to take drivers at different price points. Hence it's easier to budget. The big problem in the UK is the price and availability of parts

Spend a lot more money on very expensive gear as this is the only way to become a better player IMO. Speak out more in my bands, I tend to just go with the flow which makes me frustrated with where things go. But hy the same token be more committed to tge band I'm in rather than a bit of a band whore. ...and learn to type better on this tablet

I play my Ibanez and Yamaha because they feel the most comfortable and nothing to do with on board electronics. Actually, I run the EQ on my basses flat and use the EQ controls on my amp for that side if things. It's not that I can't play the Pbass I have it just doesn't feel as comfortable to play.

They had candy apple red one in Mansons a few months ago. I couldn't stay and had to leave the shop for uncontrollable dribbling

I'd go for the P bass every day, just don't like anything about Stingrays.
