1. I wish my computer did the same as my phone earlier and blocked the link :/
2. I've owned both Macs and Windows machines. Our first windows 'machine' had XP on it. Within 20mins of us having it, it had a virus. The only web pages we'd been on were MS to register the machine and Norton to update definitions. It was a continual PITA. Lasted 2 years at most before a hardware failure. Next machine, iMac. It still works and has for the last 5 years without doing any 'maintenance' to it. It's only problem is the screen has become slightly faulty and to replace it costs too much. We now have a Laptop running Windows8. Within 2 months of having it, it crashed completely and had to be completely wiped and reset. Not that it actually had anything on it, we put no files on it, didn't set up email on it, just used for web browsing. It's still probably the most obstructive machine I've ever had the misfortune to own. Hence we now also have a MacMIni. Cost not much more than the laptop, including getting a screen for it, I loathe having to use the laptop even more now. Just my experience, but I would never opt for a windows machine if I have the choice.
3.
Thanks, guys. Marvin, does yours have a set of stacked knobs? I'd guess maybe the 3EQ could be recognised by its lacking that, but I don't know or remember anything about it. btw, what's with the filthy avatar? You should be ashamed of yourself, you male shauvinist pig, ruining a perfect ass like that with an apple!! And have you seen the labia on that thing?
The avatar is ironic...or something :\ My SR300 has the stacked knobs. So yes, it would be straight forward to distinguish the old and new models...the new ones have one more knob (seems so wrong to be saying knob a lot with an avatar like mine). There might be a few of the older models knocking around. With regard the new models, I particularly like the SR370 in Sapphire Blue, looks great. The 370's are about £30 more than the 300's in the UK, I don't know what the price difference in Norway would be.
4. I'd imagine the older model with the style sweep have all been sold. It may be worth contacting a shop or web retailer before ordering. I know what you mean about the inaccuracies of websites etc. I must be honest, I don't really trust many shops and retailers. My SR300 is over 4 years old and has the style sweep, you might be lucky and maybe pick up a 2nd hand one?
5.
it's spelt: *Wooten* ...must be a different bloke then innit...
Sign writer typo, just can't get the staff. Apparently Marcus has gone into estate agency? http://www.millercountrywide.co.uk/
6. I didn't get the chance to go in, but has Victor got a 2nd job/income?
7. I like slot loading bridges. As for the choice of Schaller, Gotoh and Badass...it would be a Gotoh for me purely on how they look. They just look well made and like proper engineering. I really don't like the look of those big Badass bridges on Fender style basses, it looks out of balance.
8. My Squier isn't particularly well balanced. The neck doesn't have an awful lot of dive but because the body is quite light it could be better. As such there's not a lot that can be done to remedy it. The Ibanez is spot on for balance.
9.
What's the problem..? Surely one has only to declare one's overseas purchases to Customs, no..? Anything else would be dishonest, I should think.
Perhaps this is where Howard Marks got it all wrong...
10. Sold a bit a gear lately on Gumtree and the free ad pages on Facebook. Got decent prices and because they're usually local it's quite easy to arrange pick up or delivery in person. I don't think my gear would have sold on here...
11. Bringing back gear?... All sounds very Howard Marks to me
12.
Another long-time Herco user here. Been using Flex 50s since 1974. Great picks.
It's lasted 39years...the same one
13. All the things I don't irrationally dislike.
14.
Well funnily enough the Genz 2x12t looks good, its lightweight, has rubber casters at the back with rubber feet at the front and solid rattle free inset handles at the top rather than in the middle of the cab where they ruin the cabs tone, cost less and even Alex himself rates them as a good cab
Is it good for Metal though?
15.
Tort PGs on Black look disgusting to me.
Weirdo
16. I don't like white pickguards...
17.
Actually, that's me.
Or me
18.
Oh really. 79cm x 46cm x 38cm vs 76cm x 48cm x 34cm Of course, the similarity in dimensions shouldn't really come as a surprise.
In the picture the Berg looks twice as big... It was supposed to be something that wasn't serious, maybe not a joke but...
19. The Berg is clearly a lot bigger as well :/ That would be an issue for me
20. That's the amp I saw on G4M. Apparently it'll take until 1st Oct to get to any customer... Perhaps they ship them over by rowing boat from the BVI's? And yes, Behringer is ok. I've owned some and it's always been fine. To be honest read the problems people have with gear and every brand is hit and miss if you ask me...which you didn't so then it becomes MHO etc.
21. Tsk! indeed. And a bit more tsk!!!!! These web retailers really should pull their act together...and I'm being serious for once.
22.
Part of Behringer, hence the prices.
I see.
23. Who are they. I saw one of their heads listed on G4M's website. It seemed very cheap for what it was preporting to be. Go on to their website and all you seem to derive is a PO Box in the BVI's. Does anyone own something made by them or have used any of their equipment?
