Mystery knob never does the same tone twice though Jay, will sound like a flute next time you use it
Haha, at least the band mates might notice that I've got a different bass!
Courses, you'll need the undergrad to get a usable tone, the MSc to get those tones consistently, and the PhD to enable you to get every tone possible out of it. The problem I had with Wals live was that the tones I loved solo'd didn't work, so I resorted to finding Jazz- and Stingray-like tones (even Wal can't do a decent Precision), which begged the question of whether it was really worth taking £3k's worth of early 80's vintage bass to the Dog and Duck. The flip side is that once you take the time to find the unique Wal tones that do work, nothing else comes close.
Brilliant, looks like it's going to be a long road to becoming a fully competent Wal operator. It's funny you should say it can't do a P tone as I thought I nailed the fat 70's funk vibe last night, using the 'bass' pickup only with the associated mystery knob set to 5..
Mate, live it's the truth, I've see you playing a few different basses and whilst the basses are really different sounding solo'd, in the mix there's not much in it. But keep the Wal
Between you and our mutual Wal-loving friend, I think I'll have to. I just need to enroll on the Wal preamp course and I'll be sorted.

https://flic.kr/p/YGPJ2Q P? Wal? Moon? Alpher? No matter which one I take to the gig, the band will insist i sound the same. Bloody non-bassists.
Mine is on mobile/Chrome It talks about no permissions
Hmm, seems to work for some and not others. Strange. If only Photobucket didn't become totally unusable we wouldn't have these problems! Here's a link to some additional images, security set to 'public' as before.
That's beautiful.
Thanks mate, hope you're good.
So surprised this is still here ... This is a future collectors for just shy of 1k. .. Don't buy new this ones a winner .. If only I hadn't bought a house and a car ..modern day living ha ha GLWTS
Houses and cars are really affecting my bass collection. Is there some sort of rehab around to ween me off houses and cars?
This era of Fender basses are marvellous instruments. My 84 Precision is a cracking bass and I have no doubt this one here is a beauty. It looks absolutely superb. Good luck with the sale!
Agreed, they made some great stuff back then. Hugely preferable to the 70's stuff in my experience.

This is genuinely one of the best amps I've ever used, and despite 'only' having 250w, I've never had it past '2' on the master including playing outside with no PA support. It is phenomenally loud. It also has tremendous presence to the sound, the likes of which no class D amp I've tried has managed to achieve (including my Glockenklang Blue Rock, Matrix 800 and 1000w poweramps, LM800 etc). It's also not remotely heavy, and pretty compact for a 2U head. It has a heat sink which means no annoying fan noise, a tube preamp, an excellent compressor, a 12 band graphic, all the ins-and-outs you could want and top notch build quality. Why sell it then? I've gone amp-less with both my bands, and have invested in some in-ear monitors. I sold my cab recently and decided to hang on to the Trace as it's awesome, but in reality it's not going to see any use for the foreseeable future. I'm after £185, and am located in Margate. Pics to follow shortly.

I'm selling this beautiful instrument as I have too many basses and not enough time to play them. It's an extremely well designed, impeccably constructed powerhouse of a bass that can do it all. Spec. 33'' scale One piece lightweight Swamp Ash body One piece Wenge neck Ebony Fingerboard with Luminlay markers Ebony control knobs Figured English Walnut pickguard and headstock inlay Dual Coil Nordstrand pickups with a switch for each to switch between single coil, series and parallel modes High quality passive circuit Hipshot USA tuners Hipshot A bridge Wenge control compartment cover held in place with magnets 😎 Lightweight Just serviced by Alpher Instruments I've gigged it a lot so it does show some signs of use, but it is in great overall condition. I recommend coming to try this bass out to fully appreciate it, as the tonal options are vast and it's a joy to play.

This is a beautiful example of a completely original Fullerton era Fender Precision made in 1983. It's in extremely good condition and has a great played-in feel. It's 34 years old so shows some signs of play wear, but looks/feels all the better for it. I've played a few basses from this period (mainly Jazz's) and they've pretty much all been boat anchors. This on the other had is an incredibly light 3.8kg! It feels great on the strap and is beautifully responsive with the TI flats it currently wears. The neck is wide but fairly shallow front to back which makes it a pleasure to play. The back of the neck has a smattering of Birdseye figuring, and has an overall natural vintage tint. Lovely.

This cab is outrageously good and is incredibly light. Note: There are two versions of the UL2 310 (I've had both) and this is the one to have - B&C drivers and much less weight. It sounds beautiful and is extremely efficient, I've recently played on two outdoor gigs with no PA support using a 250w TE SMX head, and the master was on 2! This is one of the best cabs I've ever owned but a move to in-ears has meant that it's no longer required. Comes with the plush padded Epifani cover. I'm after £375 collected from Margate. Nothing compares to this at the price. Links to pics - https://www.flickr.com/photos/146983977@N08/shares/5Lm80F
Had the pleasure of seeing and hearing the 2000 in action a few weeks back and it's lovely in both respects to, helped somewhat by Jay's magic fingers! Jay, if you fancy a AER Bass 1 for it , let me know
You're too kind, mate! I shouldn't fancy it really, but of course I do. Damn Basschat.. -

1984 Yamaha BB2000, completely original including the well used case. I absolutely adore this thing, it's bass perfection as far as I'm concerned. It sounds full, rich and extremely punchy while maintaining a classic vintage sound that works in 99% of musical situations. It's impeccably assembled using top quality materials, the rosewood fretboard is particularly pretty to look at. It's been well used in its 32 years, but as the finish on these is indestructible, it bares only a few minor dings in the top coat. I liked the BB2000 so much that i acquired a BB300 after reading that the neck shares the same profile. My plan was to use the BB300 with flats (for when nothing else will do) and the BB2000 for everything else. The 300 has a set of TI flats and a Gotoh 201 bridge fitted, and it has the vintage P bass thing down to a T. It's also been well gigged, so has various dings, but along with the nicely mellowed finish on the neck and the classic design, it feels and sounds great. I'm letting these go as I need a five string. I'm now hooked on Yamaha so am going to try a new BBP35 next week. I'd like £725 for the BB2000 in the original Yamaha case, and £175 for the BB300 with a brand new Ritter gig bag. If you fancy both, I'm sure a deal can be made Link to pics - https://flic.kr/p/XCuhjC
