I recently purchased a bass from Nik and can echo the excellent (and extensive 😄) feedback he has received in this thread. Even though the bass was inexpensive, Nik packaged it extremely well. Everything was exactly as described and comms was excellent. Thanks, Nik
So, does anyone actually own one still? lol
I've got a HD210, sounds great and is a breeze to move around 👍

Ashdown Retroglide 800w powerhouse. This has been my backup amp for a while and has lived in the front of my gig bag, so has picked up a few marks along the way. It is however 100% functional and sounds great. I'm after £275 including postage to your door Ashdown blurb: Ashdown has worked with a number of FUNK Masters over the past 30 + years of making bass amps, the desire to create an amplifier which meets the requirements for absolute fidelity, clarity, precision tone shaping and masses of power for stunning dynamics continues to this day. The result is the Retroglide-800. Hand built in the UK Custom Shop the Retroglide is an 800 watt funk powerhouse with hi & low impedance instrument inputs, 12-band graphic EQ @ 30hz to 15Khz + or – 15dB, post EQ balanced DI output, mute switch with LED indicator, Output protect LED indicator just in case things get to hot under the hood, line input, effects loop and speaker output Neutrik combi jack/speakon connector. All wrapped up in a stunning and lightweight 3kg head. A hand machined 6mm alloy panel adorns the front of the Retroglide, machined to protect the sliders from being knocked in transport. Housed in an engineered mild steel lid, designed to protect the input and output knobs as well as provide a steady airflow for ventilation. Ashdown’s Mark Gooday said ‘the Retroglide really takes me back to my roots as a bass player, pure, simple tone at your finger tips’. Building bass amps has been much more than just a job for Gooday in his 30 + year tenure in the industry ‘bass has to be felt to be appreciated and with the specific frequencies available on the Retroglide you can sculpt your own tone to stand out in the crowd, currently awash with powerless & toneless imitations of a bass amp. The Retroglide does exactly what you would expect it to’.

This visually and sonically stunning amp is in tip top condition having never left my house! These really are phenomenal amps that seem to dwarf other micro amps in terms of power and volume, while offering several cutting edge features. It also looks amazing. Pics and full spec to follow, but it's as new and includes all the Darkglass packaging, bumf and the magic pedal. I'm after £675 and am located in Margate.

I recently saw a Markbass combo on Amazon that was around £200 cheaper than it should of been. The odd thing was that the shop seemed to be a domestic electronics outlet with a few token (and very cheap) Markbass amps in stock. I emailed to sound them out and had a reply the next day stating that their account had been hacked..

Due to an expensive project I'm having to sell (at least) one of my basses. As these two are fairly similar it seems logical to put them both up for sale and let the market decide. 2. Xotic XP-1T A great bass with possibly the best preamp I've ever used, with the ability to go from vintage loveliness to modern hyped tones in seconds. This bass gets pretty close to the Joseph Kaye vintage tone but in every other way the design has been improved to make it lighter, more ergonomic, more comfortable to play and more versatile compared to Leo's design. It feels very much like a Sadowsky in terms of build quality, and has the benefit of Hipshot hardware and the original Xotic gig bag (Protec Contego). I'm looking for £1250 collected from Margate, or i can post at cost.

Not on the two that I played. It actually made me wince much to the sales chap's dismay. I've always played jazz basses (among others) and the noise on the Yamahas is far greater, maybe due to their increased output vs a Fender pickup?

Hold on, are the above basses replacing the 1024/2024? If so, they appear to be going backwards..

I walked past the Yamaha Store in Soho recently on my lunch break. I popped in and ended up trying the BB2024x. Nice bass but the pickup hum was atrocious with the bridge pickup soloed. I Also tried the 5 string which was much the same. Are they all like that? Seems a bit of an oversight considering they're nearly £3k..
Thanks for that - and the deal is the preamp, power-amp and 3U rack case? If so does the 3U case cover/protect the rear section of the power amp? sorry for all the nagging questions!
That's right, I can include the 3u rack in the pics or a full size 4u rack. Both have front and rear covers -
Lots and lots of power! May I ask what sort of cabs did you use with this amp?
Indeed, and very versatile in terms of the cabs you can power with it. I currently use it with a Barefaced BB2 which is a great pairing. It's quite an experience to hear the pair combined with an EBS octave pedal. It's like you're DI'd into a couple of 18'' subs!
