1. Now reduced to just £350. I've only had the combo for a few months so it's pretty much as-new, and has done a great job for gigs and rehearsals. It only weighs 53 lbs so is much more manageable than the combos of old. In fact I usually carry this in one hand, lead bag in the other and throw my bass bag on my back. Marvellous. It's a UK built model, offers 500w and incorporates a high end Sica driver, as well as all the usual Ashdown features such as a tube preamp, great sounding compressor and on board sub octave. Collection/trial in Margate, although I have all the original packaging so postage could be an option.
2.
Go for it Karl!!
Karl will have bought and sold several rigs since he made the previous comment! (Pot? Kettle? Black?)
3.
Hello Jay. Are these MK1 or MK11 ? Do they stack vertically (I know they have unusual plastci corner pieces)? Are you likely to look at courier eventually? Good luck, Karl.
Hi Karl, These are the Mk2 models, made in the USA. They stack vertically for all you micro head users out there who are after the worlds slimmest stack! Useful on small stages/ gigs in alleyways/ lifts etc. I've just started a new job which means my free time is reduced some what, but I could potentially courier them. Pickup ultimately preferred though 😎 Hope you're good, mate Jamie
4. Board, PSU and Octabass sold. Big Muff and Bass IQ still here.
5.
If my Ashdown combo sells I'd be interested in these
Cool, still available for now.
6. I'm selling my pedal board in an attempt to simplify. Gator Pedal Tote in good condition, complete with gig bag and the added bonus of a Thomann power supply attached underneath. This provides 5 x isolated 9v outputs and does the job admirably. SOLD EBS IQ - True bypass envelope filter/wah/funk enabler. I love this thing. SOLD Electro Harmonix Big Muff Pi Nano - fuzz/distortion/grind inducer. I used this recently on a dep gig on the track Time Is Running Out by Muse. At the end of the gig a bass player from the audience came running up to me to ask what i was using, as it nailed the tone.. 'twas this. £35. EBS Octabass - True bypass octave/sub bringer. This is a great pedal that i use in conjunction with the above for Stevie-esque synth lines, or on its own to make the bass sound huge. Particularly useful for Uptown Funk.. SOLD Collection/trial in Margate, or I can post if required. 7. A long shot, but I'd trade for an Ashdown Neo cab if anyone has one kicking around?
8. Last night I found myself standing about 4m away from Paul Turner who was using one of these, and the sound was truly amazing. His Stenback bass and undeniable skill had a bit to do with that too though I imagine. I want one.
9.
I bought a GK RB1001 head from Jay a while back and it's still going string with no issues so I'm sure that these cabs will be no different. If I had the cash I'd fancy them myself.... PS: Sting tribute band?
Thanks for the kind words, mate. They'd be a great match with your head Haha, not quite, I can't sing or play bass let alone both simultaneously!
10. A pair of Gallien Krueger Neo 112 cabs up for grabs. They are extremely lightweight, powerful, versatile and robust. I've had several of the more boutique cabs on the market and these are up there with the best. They are also a major bargain at my asking price I'm after [s]£425[/s] £400 collected from Margate. 11. Bump for pics. The GK Neo cabs are available again, dedicated thread to follow.
12. Ashdown Retroglide 800 - 800w @ 4 ohms, 12 band graphic EQ, shiny front etc. I bought this recently and have decided it's a bit clean/pristine for me, as I'm favouring more retro tones at the moment. Minty fresh in original packaging. £350 collected form Margate, or postage at cost. Sounds like this - https://youtu.be/-i0iybq5ESY
13.
Why's it up then Jay? Love that Alpher too
Because... Basschat! Thanks mate, loving the Alpher.
14. Cabs on hold, 700RB-II in Swan flight case available for £295 including postage to your door. Absolute bargain.
15.
Haha, what ou gassing for??? MIM just about to close a deal on a Markbass tte500, as I want a tube preamp, but can't find a GK Fusion 550 anywhere... That's the dream rig!!! At least the tte has an analogue power stage 😄
Something a bit smaller, I seem to be stuck in a cycle of big-amp-little amp! I'm definitely a fan of analogue everything
16. Easily one of the best rigs I've had and yet it's up for sale in the classifieds.. Damn Basschat! Alpher Mako GK 700Rb-II 2 X GK Neos
17.
Sweet rig, as a fellow GK fan, I can vouch For the quality of their stuff. The power stages of these heads is immense, I have the 1001rb, and while my class D GK stuff can go as loud, it doesn't have the same punch and depth to the low end that these cast iron transformer beasts have. Well worth the extra (small amount) of effort required. I'd love a pair 112's 😄 GLWTS
Well said that man. I think that GK are often over looked on here as they aren't as expensive as some of the more esoteric brands, but in my experience they wipe the floor with many of them. I used the rig last night with my Alpher and got such a broad range of great sounds out of it, I'm thinking of overriding my GAS instincts and keeping it!
18. I'm selling this great rig as I've seen something else I fancy. You know how it is. I've previously owned a couple of the bigger 1001RB-II heads, and have to say that the general consensus of the 700 having the sweeter tone definitely rings true. They are both extremely powerful but the 700 just seems to have something about it that the 1001 doesn't. I love the GK preamp and find that it is so versatile you can get whatever you want out of it. It's definitely not solely for modern rock tones as some people seem to think. Ease back the treble, increase the bass and boost controls, and you have a wonderful old school big rig sound. The Neo 112 cabs are compact, very light and extremely powerful. They also sound rich and warm. I used this rig recently for a corporate gig to around 500 people in a large hall. The bass sounded punchy and full right at the back of the hall, and received complementary comments from the lighting man. A first for me! I'm including the fancy swan flight case, speakon leads and IEC which along with the amp, has been recently PAT tested. Collection from Margate. Better pics to follow
