1. Bump for pics. The GK Neo cabs are available again, dedicated thread to follow.
2. Ashdown Retroglide 800 - 800w @ 4 ohms, 12 band graphic EQ, shiny front etc. I bought this recently and have decided it's a bit clean/pristine for me, as I'm favouring more retro tones at the moment. Minty fresh in original packaging. £350 collected form Margate, or postage at cost. Sounds like this - https://youtu.be/-i0iybq5ESY
3.
Why's it up then Jay? Love that Alpher too
Because... Basschat! Thanks mate, loving the Alpher.
4. Cabs on hold, 700RB-II in Swan flight case available for £295 including postage to your door. Absolute bargain.
5.
Haha, what ou gassing for??? MIM just about to close a deal on a Markbass tte500, as I want a tube preamp, but can't find a GK Fusion 550 anywhere... That's the dream rig!!! At least the tte has an analogue power stage 😄
Something a bit smaller, I seem to be stuck in a cycle of big-amp-little amp! I'm definitely a fan of analogue everything
6. Easily one of the best rigs I've had and yet it's up for sale in the classifieds.. Damn Basschat! Alpher Mako GK 700Rb-II 2 X GK Neos
7.
Sweet rig, as a fellow GK fan, I can vouch For the quality of their stuff. The power stages of these heads is immense, I have the 1001rb, and while my class D GK stuff can go as loud, it doesn't have the same punch and depth to the low end that these cast iron transformer beasts have. Well worth the extra (small amount) of effort required. I'd love a pair 112's 😄 GLWTS
Well said that man. I think that GK are often over looked on here as they aren't as expensive as some of the more esoteric brands, but in my experience they wipe the floor with many of them. I used the rig last night with my Alpher and got such a broad range of great sounds out of it, I'm thinking of overriding my GAS instincts and keeping it!
8. I'm selling this great rig as I've seen something else I fancy. You know how it is. I've previously owned a couple of the bigger 1001RB-II heads, and have to say that the general consensus of the 700 having the sweeter tone definitely rings true. They are both extremely powerful but the 700 just seems to have something about it that the 1001 doesn't. I love the GK preamp and find that it is so versatile you can get whatever you want out of it. It's definitely not solely for modern rock tones as some people seem to think. Ease back the treble, increase the bass and boost controls, and you have a wonderful old school big rig sound. The Neo 112 cabs are compact, very light and extremely powerful. They also sound rich and warm. I used this rig recently for a corporate gig to around 500 people in a large hall. The bass sounded punchy and full right at the back of the hall, and received complementary comments from the lighting man. A first for me! I'm including the fancy swan flight case, speakon leads and IEC which along with the amp, has been recently PAT tested. Collection from Margate. Better pics to follow
9. Just to confirm, this is an absolute bargain!
10.
Hi, interested; whereabouts are you based? Are you able/willing to post? Thanks!
I'm in Margate, postage is fine. I'll PM you.
11.
World gone mad indeed. You could get a bit Chadwick on it, put a door in the back and keep the baby in there? And given the state of the punters at our last gig in The Bell, I think you should consider yourself pretty lucky to have still been in possession of an intact instrument following that pint mate
That seems like a perfectly sensible idea, I'll present it to the Mrs this evening. Re The Bell, I spent many a sideways evening in there myself
Hi. What size is this please? I'm looking for a 4/4. Thanks
Hi, it's a 3/4 I'm afraid.
12. Thanks for the kind words, mate. Yep, my requirements have changed some what and it would seem that somewhere to put the baby is more important than somewhere to put the bass. I know, the world's gone mad I fondly remember buying this from you and walking home with it through Canterbury town centre, stopping at The Bell en route for some much need sustenance.
13. Updated the thread with pictures that everybody can see!
14. I'm offering up my DB as I need to generate both space and monies. I've had this for a few years and in that time it's mainly served as a pretty piece of furniture, only occasionally being summoned from its stand for an impromptu jam. It plays fantastically well, and is highly regarded by my big-bass playing friends. I believe it's an early 80's example, and crafted in Czechoslovakia as opposed to the later examples which were made in the far east. I've been advised by one of the Basschat gods that I should market this for £1000, but I'm keen to move it on, so £800 it is. Any questions, please fire away. For obvious reasons, this is collection only from Margate. 15. I bought this some time ago for a project that never got off the ground, so time to move it on. I watched a lot of the footage from Glastonbury over the weekend and noticed that every other band seemed to have one of these on stage!
16. Bump for photos. The bridge cover is just resting on the bass, as the screw holes have been filled. I tend to play over the bridge pickup so never felt the need to refit the cover..
17.
Weight?
Just over 9lb on my trusty luggage scales. The jazz is now off-hold and available again.
18.
Was this my old one Jay?
No mate, this is my third 75 RI. Damn GAS!
19. I'd send it back, G string is all out of whack by the sounds of it.
20. Selling my 75RI Jazz to raise some much needed funds for my house project. It's a 2007 example in fantastic condition, and is setup for a low/medium action (currently with flats). It comes complete with both ashtrays, Fender flight case and case candy, original hang tags etc. I'm after £795 and am located in Margate for those that would like to try it out. 21.
IIRC, we heard one of these cabs at last year's South East Bass Bash in the cab 'shoot-out' and it sounded great to me. This is a really good price, too! GLWTS
Thanks, I agree
22. Price drop to £375 as I've got hold of a couple of 1x12 cabs. This is now a serious bargain, the 1x12 version is nearly £600 new!
