Ampeg SVP Pro, Matrix GT-800FX, Boschma Rack *SOLD*
jay-syncro replied to jay-syncro's topic in Amps and Cabs For Sale
How much would you want for the SVP pre amp and your spider 3U rack case? not interested in the power amp, thanks!
After some thought, I'd be after £250 for the Ampeg in the Spider rack case, and £300 for the Matrix in the original packaging. -
Ampeg SVP Pro, Matrix GT-800FX, Boschma Rack *SOLD*
I did the same thing for ages. Though I know have an Alembic FX-1 in my rack, using the SVP Pro through the fx loop, in to a Barefaced Compact (used to have a Big One). So very similar rigs. It's the nuts. A real cure for GAS.
Sounds like an excellent rig, it's amazing what those cabs can do when driven properly. -
I'm selling my Aguilar Tone Hammer Preamp pedal as it's no longer required. It's a great, versatile preamp that can complement/replace the front end of your amp to achieve that Aguilar sound, or even drive a power amp directly. It also acts as a great tool for recording (via an interface) into digital recording software. I'm after £125 including an 18v power supply.

I'm selling this amp and a few other items to raise funds for the money pit that is my house. I've put this rig together to make the ultimate amp for my Barefaced Big Baby 2 (also for sale). The Ampeg SVP contains 5 valves that provide the classic grit and warmth of the SVT, without the need for a forklift to move it. Combined with the awesome Matrix power amp, you have a huge amount of versatility in terms of cab options etc. for example you can run up to 4 8ohm cabs, or bridge the amp for 800w into and 8ohm load, as I have been doing with the BB2. It is an excellent combination that sounds great, looks great, and only weighs around 10kg in the new Boschma 2u rack. I'd let it go for £550 in a 3U Spider flight case as I wouldn't mind keeping hold of the Boschma. Collection from Margate preferred, but will post at cost. I'm selling my BB2 (and a few other bits and bobs) in order to raise funds for the money pit that is my house. The Big Baby 2 is an amazing cab that will handle whatever you throw at it with ease. I've used it in a 5 piece function band, a loud 4 piece rock band, and for low level home practice, and it never fails to sound impressive. It's in amazing condition and has the added benefit of the rather nice Barefaced cover. It also has the optional silver cloth grill, which makes it look proper. These options plus postage from barefaced rack up to around £845, so grab a bargain! I'd prefer collection from Margte, but would post at cost.
The F112 uses the same woofer as (and a similar midrange driver to) those in our previous Gen 2 Big Baby model, so that's a useful comparison.
I used to own a Gen 2 Big Baby, and didn't get on with it at all. Lots of lows and volume, but I wasn't keen on the way it sounded. I now own a Big Baby 2, and am still slightly baffled by how amazing it is.

I'm moving on my Gallien Krueger 1001RB-II as I've gone down the pre/power amp route for a new project. It's only 1 year old, in great condition and comes with all the original packaging, unopened manual and chunky rack ears/handles. This amp puts out 700w into 4ohms, and 480w into 8ohms. I've been using it with a Barefaced BB2, and it is absolutely thunderous. Incidentaly if you remove the rack ears, it's the same width as a BB2 and therefore looks proper I'm after £399 collected from Margate, but can post for a little extra. I recently purchased this Overwater as I've fancied a short/medium scale bass for some time, and it really appealed. The original thread for it can be found here: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/253487-overwater-1980s-medium-scale-bass-on-hold/page__fromsearch__1 AS stated in the original thread, there is an issue with the EMG pickup currently fitted having a narrow magnetic field (50mm) which means the output on the G string is slightly quieter than the others. As soon as I bought the bass, I purchased an EMG MMCS Musicman pickup and electronics, with a view to not just remedy the issue, but to make a lightweight, medium scale, Stingray-esque bass that I won't be afraid to use on rough pub gigs, jam nights etc. when I'd be worried to use my 71 Precision or Sadowsky. The issue is, I like the shorter scale so much I've recently commissioned my first custom bass in 33'' scale This means a hefty deposit has been laid out and money must be recouped (so I've been told, anyway). It's a great, solid, handmade bass, with excellent hardware and original appeal. Although the bass can be used as-is, I think it'd be great if the new owner fitted the EMG MM pickup/electronics, so I'm including them in the sale. I'm after £285 for a quick sale It can be tried out/collected from Margate.
love to see some picture thanks
HI, I'm currently away from home on ''Best Man'' duties, but this is a rather awful picture I found on my phone. Proper pics to follow when I'm back. Incidentally, the white TKS cab in this photo is one of a pair that I recently sold on Basschat. They were lost (read STOLEN) by Citylink shortly before they went belly up. I'll start a proper thread regarding this issue when I get a chance. YMMV of course...
Thanks for the vote of confidence
My 'words of wisdom' were aimed at all, not simply 'long-established members', and are valuable for all ads by all sellers. Just sayin'.
Fair point, I'll update the thread with pictures asap.
